Ergheiz Zero Panix you know what I have noticed? People can be VERY mean here. Like say you start a new topic, no matter what it is, there is usually always someone who will flame you. Specially near the start. That is very true. I usually tend to start new threads in Quests/Charity but only when i have a new quest or update my charity thread. Or I just go and hang out in threads make friends and chat my way till im tired and go to bed ninja The Quests/Charity forum is a very friendly place. A good place to make new friends whether you're questing, helping out, or even just plain bored.

Sandwich Protector oOSublime ChaosOo Pirate_for_life People are always saying that, and the truth is: As you grow older it SEEMS like gaia is being infested with immature people. Well your wrong and right. THis didn't just happen, its always been. Your maturing and it seems like people are dumber, they are just the ones younger than you. You used to be as bad as they are. It;s just the average age is going down for new gaians, at least in maturity level. And like I said, with mutations of threads, the evolve from "House party, Come hang out!" to "guys press girls against walls and kiss them"... mad Most don't read the ToS. Someone threatened to report me for "Exploiting a glitch" in Towns earlier, even though it says NOTHING in the ToS about glitches. Funny though, they were so sure of it. Make sure you've read the ToS. It can be very helpful in certain situations, like the one above. You don't want to give yourself a bad image by not knowing the ground rules, right?

stargirl51 from beneath you... Sadly... most people I end up talking to are under like 16. and There was one 9 year old who supports incest and beast sex... Like he know what that is.. *tear*. Oh, I'm 18... .xXx. a promise is a lie tied with a pretty ribbon .xXx. Comment my profile <3 Ew....a 9 year old who supports incest and bestiality...that's...wow, I don't think words can describe the "WTF?!"-ness I"m experiencing right now... When faced with a situation like this its better to walk away. Its much better to report and walk away, rather then to get caught up in it.

Sandwich Protector KaGurl [.Agita.] Yah, seriously. D:
But you learn to ignore them, or tower over them with your intelligence. >:3 Even if we are smarter then them, Theres no winning. They always pull something out of their a** causing a new argument. Its a never ending cycle. Agreed. And all of them forward those damn chain letters. mad Kutsu_Higouri And now, I must pay attention to another sign of the times...I've heard stories of it before, but never have I actually witnessed it until now- I just received my first "Hacking Warning" PM from a "Mod". Ohhhhhh joy. Now where's that nice and shiny report button.... Aren't chain letters the most annoying thing? For the love of everything good and holy, if someone sends you one of these report them! It may not get through for a few weeks but the point is you are taking action.

KaGurl Sandwich Protector Twisted Angel of Darkness Sandwich Protector Can't they see that at least those "OMGZ GIRLS LOCKED UP GUYS GET THE KEYS!!ONEONE111" threads are just plain Stupid? I can see why they would want to not delete them, though. N00bs would get mad if they deleted them. Gaia's population would go down, donations would go down, the mods' pay would go down. It's always about money, dang it. There are no mods frequenting the CB. They have all abandon it. You report something and then wait a few weeks for a mod to get it. And I agree, it's all about the money. Though they should cater to the older gaians cause were the ones donation $20-100. Definitely. April 2004 was my starting date on a different account, so I'd probably be in the mid-older Gaians. We need something we can do about this growing problem, though. Talking about this will only get us gold, not a conclusion. The best we can do is start a petition, and hope that enough people are as fed up as we are. Even so our chances would be slim, how many people would take the time to sign one? We encourage you to sign petitions! The entire point of making this guild is for change. Besides, who knows? If we can help them out enough, maybe the admins/mods will start listening to us and accually take the petition's suggestion.

poppylike AngeLys KaGurl We don't b***h. We discuss and try to find ways to solve some of the problems. We know that all of them cannot be solved, but the problems that can be solved should. We? Just in case you don't notice, you're alone so far. I'd advise you to try and run a website like Gaia. They do not make any money out of it. Just try, and try to make it as big as here, and then come back and play the know-it-all. They don't make any money out of it?? That's a crock honey. Gaia's corporate entity got $9 million in venture capital in June. That's why there's been so much expansion. They get ad revenues. They get $75 a month from me in "donations" and I'll bet hundreds of thousands from others. Just because YOU don't pay a user's fee does not mean this is not a profit-making business, or at least on its way to becoming one. This ain't the Salvation Army. I agree with both of you tho: It's not the owners/admins fault people are stupid and greedy and act like criminals and idiots. And I think it's up to us Gaians to do something about it. I believe in the concept of self-policing. The mods can't catch everything. We should be the "eyes and ears". We should attempt to convince people that -- REALLY -- the staff will NEVER ask for your password, so don't be a douche and fall for that tired old scam and them come complain about it in the CB. Now, I believe that the owners, regardless of whether they make a profit or not, do have some responsibility toward ensuring good, safe usage of this site. And I think they do a good job -- not a great one, but a good one. The site has had some serious scalability issues this summer -- growing pains if you will. So anyway, I love Gaia, otherwise I wouldn't give them so much of my money. But get your facts straight before you criticize people, mkay? All this information is public or common sense. Don't criticize people for an honest attempt to make this a better place. It's like bitching out your neighbor for picking up stray trash on the street because there's garbage men who come once a week. OK, indignant rant ended. And no, I have no affiliation with this thread or anyone behind it or their guild. kthxbai. cheese_whine I'm pretty sure this one is self-explanitory. Basicly get your facts straight before critizing someone else.

Sandwich Protector Twisted Angel of Darkness Hmm...He brings up a good point. We want gaia to be better, but we must remember not to go overboard. We cannot expect anyone to be perfect. We must stick to our ideals. We have made clear that we do not want to attack newbs, our main target is noobs. This is mainly Beggers, massive spamers, these slave threads, and flammers themselves. It's not just ristricted to noobs, we are also targeting the established gaian that are inflating the prices. One thing that was mentioned though... TaiFengShin I believe you are not totally new to the bully complex. These people tend to move away from the real intellectuals because the latter are the type of people they can't beat. These members of the social middle class make for themselves a place in the society by picking on those they can beat, even in the dirtiest and most nonsensical ways they don't want to be the receiving end of. That way, they feel secure and complacent and euphoric to the extent of, "At least I'm better than someone!" They don't realize that without these wee little "noobs" to step on, they would be absolute nobodies in the society, even in a virtual society such as Gaia Online. You would see the same scenario in most other places like high school settings where they contend for "popularity." I'm beginning to wonder if this is what I've become, we've become. Although, your point about the prices is also true, we aren't all out to get n00bs and such. We're not better then anyone else. We're simply here to try and make gaia a better place. Please try to remember this even when your speaking to someone with mad "1337" skills.

Sandwich Protector TaiFengShin What I mean to say is that, I believe that prior to your posting this thread, you already knew that those "noobkillers" are equivalent to real life bullies. However, it was not stressed out as to why "noobkillers" act the way they are, in the same way it is not stressed among the "noobkillers" why "noobs" act the way the "noobs" do. Not pointing this out will eventually lead some to become "bullykillers" ultimately repeating the same mistakes they tried to correct. Um, anyway, please excuse my manners. I'm becoming too idealistic again. This could just be a relapse of my recent migraine sweatdrop Ha. I understand where you're getting at. It's odd, isn't it? If everyone kept looking at what everyone else was doing, like this, then the cycle continues. But if we withdraw and do not associate, learn about, or listen to anyone, none could survive in the real world. Is this not ironic? Without each other, there are problems, but with each other, we create problems. Pretty zen, huh?.
