Who do you like? To read, that is.
My favorites are Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., Shirley Jackson, and Shakespeare. I read everything I can get my hands on by those people.
Vonnegut writes very surreal stories. He has characters that appear in multiple stories. One of my favorites is Kilgore Trout, an author who could arguably represent Vonnegut himself.
Jackson writes great scary/creepy stories. I've been hooked since my 9th grade teacher had us read The Lottery, a short and disconcerting story. It's too short for me to tell you about it without giving anything away.
That same 9th grade teacher encouraged my love of Shakespeare. I love his plays and his sonnets. In 9th grade, we had to memorize the 29th sonnet, and I can still recite it today (roughly 15 years later).
So, how about you?
