My hypothesis:
More girls generally write more than guys, thus more girls to write about abusive things.
Second Hypothesis:
Abuse generally involves a lot of emotion, and girls have been proven to be more emotional than guys, thus girls are better at writing about pain and abuse.

I'm a girl too. Nicco is actually one of my characters, although I don't abuse him very much... in comparison with my others. His parents were kills, he was enslave (but escaped unharmed), his best friend was kidnapped (but also escaped, relatively unharmed). That's why he's not in the abused character thread, that and I thought it might be confusing.
