Personality: Kismet is a very sensitive and gentle soul. He cares a lot about others, which is usually a good thing, but it may also contribute to his tendency to fall into many romantic relationships. However his true love is Ri, and he worships the air she flies on.
He's also very shy, especially around females. But this usually only applies to those he doesn't know very well. His friends and family consider him eccentric because he is rather obsessed with his favorite hobby, which is relic hunting. He considers just about any object fascinating and unknown to him to be a relic. From unusual glowing seashells, to musical crystals mined out of the mountain, to a porcelain bathtub he believes to be a craft and calls a "float." (The first relic was Ryuujin's glasses. Soon after their awakening on the island, Kismet was intriguied by their mysterious appearance, and believed they must have been a "relic" of their unknown past. And so with that first relic, his obsession to find more began...)
This even extends to creatures he believes to be "living relics," the sea monsters he believes live around and maybe even within their island. It's one of his theories that the sea monsters also live in the island lakes, traveling there from the ocean through underground caves filled with water. Most dragons believe he's nuts. However, the discovery of Reet's "dead sea monster" during a beach dig has all but convinced Kismet that he must be right. As terrified as Kismet is of sea monsters, he is determined to find a living one and prove its existance.
He also believes that the kweet are actually "harbingers of doom" and that their presence means something dire is in store for the fairy dragons and Orchestra. Most dragons also believe this theory is nuts. Kismet has a mistrust of kweets after his first encounter where one divebombed him. This kweet, which still attacks him on a regular basis, is now his pet, Quetzal. Quetzal is a green kweet that likes to steal Kismet's things, including his precious relics, but Kismet has developed a fondness for the constant pest that he rarely admits.
Kismet can be brave if he needs to be, but most of the time he's very meek, which stems greatly from the self-awareness of his size. In fact, he's downright feminine in most respects, and smaller than most dragons, except for the whites. Most of his attempts at being macho, including useless hunting attempts and not-so-stealthy stalking, tend to fall flat. Unless someone he cares about is threatened, he's more likely to make use of his speed to escape danger.
He is a healer with alchemy skills who takes the well-being of his fellow dragons very seriously. He runs the lair infirmary, and is often out gathering herbs for making medicines. Foraging for food is another task he does often, as he's a lousy hunter and fisher.
His favorite thing to forage for is cocoa pods, for making chocolate. It's his favorite food, although chocolate has extremely strong effects on some dragons, of which Kismet is one. In most cases it has a similar effect as alcohol to humans, and loosens up their inhibitions greatly. In few other cases, it also acts as a powerful aphrodisiac. Kismet is prone to both these effects, so chocolate often causes him to become wild under the influence, so to speak.
Chocolate helped him through his initial shyness around Ri when they were first getting to know each other, but he certainly doesn't need it these days. Although Ri is his mate and true love, he also has a long-time crush on Valentine, that was also sparked by chocolate. Kismet is bi-sexual and has a strange preference for red dragons. XD
Above all, Kismet loves his family, and is often doting on them. He's learned that he enjoys having draclings, and hopes to visit the nesting sands with Ri again. Only his family eases his obsession to know the past, and the fear that has begun to seep into him from places unknown.
Background: Kismet has less memory of his past than most dragons. For some reason, all knowledge of even basic family ties was taken from him. Only by piecing together information from other dragons has he discovered he had a grown daughter named Nina by a female named Cherri. He has yet to meet them, but for reasons he does not understand, he has not felt the desire to seek them out. The rest of his past is completely unknown...for now.

She's most frequently seen walking along the edge of the forest, basket against one hip as she collects berries. Rosey is often seen with her, as she takes after her mother. Ri is looking forward to visiting the nesting sands again ninja
Background: Ri doesn't remember her past. She apparently was mated to Banzai before, resulting in Ovelia. Though she doesn't remember this mating, Ri treats Ovelia like her own regardless.

Ri- My wonderful Ri Ri! I still don't know how I became lucky enough to have her
as a mate. She likes to gather berries, and can swim very well. She's so much stronger
than I am, but I will always do my best to protect her.
Rosey- My Princess! She's one of my precious daughters, and is usually wandering
about the forest with her mother, looking for berries. I gave her a string of musical
crystals, and she's becoming a very talented musician, if I do say so!
Calliope- My Bumblebee! My other precious daughter! Her nickname came about
because of how adorable she looked when I gave her flying lessons, soon after she was
hatched. She was so tiny and hyper, she was my baby Bumblebee. She's grown into a
beautiful dragoness, but she's still my Bumblebee.
Reet- He attacked me once, and I admit he can be a bit intimidating because he's
so strong. But I no longer fear him as I once did. I appreciate his raw honesty in a
world of secrets.
Ovelia- A very pretty dragoness, who I've come to know as shy and sweet natured.
Like her mother, she seems to like wandering about, but disappears for much longer in the
wilderness. I hope she's okay, but as a black dragon, I'm sure she can take care of
herself. She is Ri's daughter by another male, but she can't remember him...
Flame- When I first met him, he made me very jealous by trying to steal my Ri!
He's the only dragon who's made me angry enough to attack. I'm ashamed of my actions, but
even so, he did deserve it for hurting my Ri. However, I now consider him a friend, even
if he and Ri still do not like each other very much. He isn't such a bad guy, just really
full of himself. Sure, he does look good, but still...
Xanth- I first met Xanth when she was a dracling. She had a crush on me, but I
had trouble returning affection for someone I always saw as more of a little sister. Even
so, I know I might have accepted her as my mate had I not fallen in love with Ri. For a
long time I felt pain for any heartache I caused her. I'm glad she has since fallen in
love with Flame... If anyone can handle him, she can. Xanth also gave me my relic
bracelet, made of twisted silver links and studded with purple and red gemstones...
Pir- I've really only spoken with him once, he seems to like keeping to himself
most of the time. He often looks extremely anxious and highstrung, the poor little guy.
I really like his wings, they're very pretty. He's one of Reet's children.
Sunday- The beautiful golden female's name was the first thing I was able to
recall when I first awoke on the island. She has a great presence, and not only in her
size. She is also the keeper of many secrets, as I recently discovered. She has full
memory of the past! But for some reason, she has chosen not to reveal what she knows.
What little she has told me, is that someone would soon arrive on the island, someone who
would bring answers. Although this is what I have so long wished for, a strange fear
grows in me.
Kryssik- One of the more recent arrivals on the island, Kryssik is the only one
I've confided Sunday's revelation to. Perhaps it helps that he's mute, but I trust him.
He reminds me of myself, but he's attempting to dabble in very dangerous things. I worry
about him, I don't know if there's anything I can really do for him.
Quetzal- My kweet is evil. Mark my words.
Juniper- See above.
Ryuujin- My good friend Ryuu... Perhaps my oldest friend, he was even there when
I first discovered relics. He still wears the first on his nose. I was recently
surprised to discover that he wanted a family...he had never seemed interested before.
His adoption of Sylvie was an even bigger surprise, and I hope he found what he was
looking for, since she seems to run him ragged.
Sylvarant- Sylvie! I love her enthusiasm. I taught her to fly, and she caught
on very quickly. The girl is sharp as a thorn, but something about her unnerves me a
little. Still can't quite place what it is...
Isen- The mate of my daughter, Calliope. He's always been a great kid, although
he's now grown. Very intelligent, and full of ideas. He's been rather distant lately,
chasing after his own fancies. That's fine, but I do hope he'll take some responsibility,
since he's fathered an egg with my daughter...
(This list is going to take a long while to complete... XD ) Kismet Ri's beloved mate. A tad eccentric, Kismet's main hobby seems to be searching for relics. ^_^
Rosey Ri & Kismet's daughter, she takes after her mother, right down to the curls ~,^
Calliope Ri & Kismet's second daughter, she was most often seen with her father as a dracling and seems to have inherited his love of relic-hunting, much to Ri's surprise.
Banzai Ri's first mate? Ri doesn't remember him or the child they had.
Ovelia Ri and Banzai's daughter, Ovelia is a shy dragon who doesn't appear often.
Reet When Ri was first resurrected, Reet tried to get her to mate with him xd He offered a dead bird as a gift. Ri was not impressed. He also later attacked Kismet and bit him o.O Still, Ri seems to actually harbor some fondness for Reet (friendship-wise)
Flame The only dragon capable of getting Ri riled to violence o.O
Xanth Ri's first friend among the other female dragons, Ri hasn't seen Xanth at all lately. crying

Feeling his legs wobble slightly, Kismet carried Ri and Ilse into their lair. They hadn't woken, and he didn't blame them. He was exhausted. The blue dragon tucked them into bed together, not wanting to separate them. And for the time being, it was probably best to keep the dracling close. Wearily, Kismet crawled into the furs after them.
Celeste needed further looking after, and he still had to see to that axe... And he wondered what was being done about Reet elsewhere on the island... But just a little rest... couldn't... hurt....

In a cold sweat, Kismet suddenly awoke and sat bolt upright.
"Calliope...!" He croaked, then coughed himself fully awake.
Feeling feverish, he turned to look at Ri and Ilse. They were still blissfully asleep. Seeing them safe calmed him a little, but there was still a nagging anxiety at the back of his mind. He couldn't remember what he had been dreaming about, but his nerves were still rattled.
He staggered out of bed and out into the washroom, where he crawled into the dragonmade springpool. He sat submerged for several minutes, letting the memories of the night before seep back in. It must have been a nightmare about Reet...
Splashing water about, he sprung back out of the pool. He hoped Ri and Ilse would sleep in extra long, he didn't like the idea of them going about their usual wandering when Reet was on the loose. In the meantime, he had to go check on Celeste and do something about that axe.
After toweling off, he left the lair.

((I'm not trying to take liberties here, some of it, like with Reet is just Kismet's personal observations on what's what. What he thinks and what's factual can easily be very different. ^^ ))
His feet felt heavy with dread. There would be no more hiding under a blissful veil. Everyone would know. His friends, his children, his mate... Kismet paused at the the curtain that lay between him and the bedchamber.
When he arrived on Orchestra, Kismet had lost everything he had ever loved. He had begged to forget everything, to have all that he was, destroyed. But even as he longed for oblivion, there had always been something deep down inside that knew it was wrong to forget.
The others like himself had chosen to seek out the enemy and find a way to destroy them. He understood the need for redemption...and the pure hatred for the enemy that had turned them into monsters and taken everything away in the most brutal possible manner. He hated them with every fiber of his being. He didn't like the rageful emotion, but they had done this to him as surely as they had changed him that day. Knowing that they had left that piece of the monster inside him only made that same hatred grow even more.
With nothing left to lose, facing the enemy and finding a way to take revenge was worth the risk. After all, dying was only a release from the inflicted pain. He could see it in many eyes of those who remained... They knew they wouldn't survive, and were looking forward to that. Kismet wanted to go with them...
But no, he had duty. A duty to endure the fearful looks and distrust of the innocent survivors. They would need a healer during the long difficult journey, and he had no fighting skills of any sort. He had had to travel along side those who had lost loved ones by his own claws...
If not for Sunday's command over the others, Kismet surely would have met justice from the others long before reaching Orchestra. So often he envied Reet's enduring madness. Sometimes Kismet felt guilty that he could still function, while the trauma of what had happened appeared to have sent Reet retreating so far into his subconscious that only a gentled form of the madness seemed to remain. Kismet had felt little part of himself die with each murder he committed, but for Reet, perhaps that had been even more true.
Leaving with the innocent had been his duty, and duty to them being the only fragile thread preventing him from taking his own life. But he never felt like he belonged with them. It wasn't right. He should have stayed behind, to have given his own life for what he had done.
Since coming to Orchestra, he had found love again, had friends and family again. To lose it again to the monster he had been would be unbearable. But there was no escaping what was coming.
Opening eyes he hadn't realized he had closed, Kismet walked past the curtain and stood beside the bed where Ri slept soundly. His beautiful, wonderful Ri. If she were to abandon him once learning the truth...if she were to be hurt because of what he had done... He made a soft whimpering sound.
But there was no more hiding. He reached out and touched her arm. "Ri..." He whispered softly. "Wake up, Ri."
