Episode 1: The Life of Shadows
Welcome to the first episode of
In The Air Documentaries. In this episode, we shall cover the lives of shadows. Yes, those odd looking black blobs that sit at your feet. But, there's more to them than meets the eye. Let us begin, shall we?
First things first: Have you ever wondered what it was like to be a shadow? Probably not, but the thought does exist somewhere in that thing we call a mind/brain. The shadow is a wondrous and mysterious creature. They exist, yet never occupy any space, despite their ability to change size and shape. There are more shadows on this planet than any other creature on this planet. Despite this, they don't count as any portion of the world's population of animals. And yes, humans are animals too. They do try to provide a little shade from the heat (or at least the sun's rays) when they can.
Does the shadow ever feel pain? No one knows for sure. Everyday, shadows get stepped on, run over, trampled, beat up, and just about anything else, yet never show any sign of pain or injury. This, however, does not mean that they can't die.
The shadow requires light in order to live and survive. This allows us the ability to actually see these creatures. Light also gives them the ability to change size and shape. This may cause you to believe that the shadow dies every night. That is a common and incorrect misconception. The shadow, like every other living creature, can and will suffer from fatigue and become tired. They normally disappear whenever they become tired. This way, they avoid giving off their precious life energy. They wake up as soon as any trace of light touches them. They also fall asleep/disappear whenever their is no light around them.
This concludes our documentary about the life of shadows. Thanks for tunin' in and don't forget to tune in next time for our other topics. Next Episode: The Reflection.
