Duel History

To start things off, Anthy threw a rose in the air, and claimed the first Victor would be the one to catch the rose. Femke caught it, and became the Engaged.

The Duel Called Authority

Adrian, enraged after being booted from the council, challenged Femke, the current Victor, to a duel. His brief attempt to practice with a sword gave him litle prowess, and he was pushed around the arena by the more skilled Femke. Anthy bestowed the powers of Dios on him for a short period of time, but they fell away just in time for Femke to get his rose.

Dueling Event

Femke eventually left the school, leaving the Bride without a champion. Akio and Anthy invited all the duelists to the Arena, where they confronted a series of obstacles. Adrian and Maarten produced spirit steeds of lower quality than Rachel and Grietje, and were both disqualified when they murdered their 'opponents', images of people from their pasts. Grietje spared her opponent and told Rachel to do so as well, and went to free Anthy from her crystal coffin. Each were mysteriously asked 'what they would give', and Grietje answered most favorably, making her the next Victor.

The Duel Called Assumption

End of the World sent Maarten a letter that said that he was unsatisfied with Grietje as the Victor and wanted Maarten, the more suitable choice, to challenge her to a Duel. Maarten fought aggressively, using physical force and not fencing skill to win his Duel, and ended up snatching the rose from Grietje's lapel instead of slicing it off with his sword. Grietje was enraged by his lack of honor and sportsmanship, but Maarten ended up as the Victor.

The Duel Called Release

After Akio, as End of the World, showed Adrian's most traumatic past to him in the planetarium, he sent him a note with the words 'You know what you must do'. Adrian challenged Maarten to a Duel. Neither had fencing skills or experience, and the duel was made up of wild strikes. Maarten sliced open Adrian's jacket, revealing her to be a girl. While he was in shock, Adrian took his rose and became the new Victor.

The Duel Called Worth

Grietje challenged Adrian shortly after she became the Victor, not believing that she was a worthy candidate for Victor. While they dueled, Grietje told Adrian that the power of Dios wasn't for someone who had no discipline or self control. Adrian, who seemed wild and emotional, told her that she couldn't judge what was important to her, and that Adrian would tear down everything in her way. Grietje went for the rose with her sword, but Adrian grabbed the blade, slicing her hand. Grietje, frightened, grabbed the rose with her own hand and became the Victor.

The Duel Called Solution

Rachel challenged Grietje after Piet caused a school-wide catastrophe, ending in scaffolding falling on another student, and targeting her friend Hannah by framing Rachel for her getting caught at cheating. She and Grietje fought almost equally, but Grietje won in the end.

The Duel Called Limit

Issac challenged Grietje, revealing his status as a Duelist, and finally wearing his ring once his cousin's taunts and his hopeless family situation pushed him too far. He fought Grietje with dual swords, a style she was unfamiliar with, and told her that he thought the duels were too risky and too untrustworthy to participate in until he finally became desperate. Issac won, becoming the new Victor.

The Duel Called Loss

Maarten received notification that he was going to be removed from the council, was told by the coach that he was removed as soccer team captain, and got called by his father about what a total disappointment he was. Spurred on by that list of failures, he challenged Issac to a duel. The duel started off as by the book for a few seconds before Maarten turned it into a death match, slamming Issac against the floor and accidentally slicing him with his sword. Anthy gave Issac temporary relief from pain, and he took Maarten's rose.

Adrian leaned casually over the railing, the wind rustling through his jet black hair. Pretty soon, the others would be arriving for the first official Student Council meeting.

Dark, clouded eyes surveyed the campus below as he waited impatiently. This was not something he was looking forward to. However, after thinking long and hard over the situation, he had agreed to taking the position, and Adrian always kept his word.

He began to absentmindedly scratch the stone on the railing with his fingernail. 'It's so typical of these stupid bimbos...'

As I got onto the elevator, I brushed off myself and clutched my handbag tightly. I wondered what the other student council members were like. I wouldn't say I was nervous, but more like..anxious. As the elevator reached the top floor, I stepped out onto the balcony, where I spotted a young man about my age with black hair. I gave him a small smile in greeting and walked over beside him, though far enough apart to give him space. I leaned my back against the railing and looked to him, tilting my head to the side. "Hello there.. I'm Angel le Noir...though simply Noir will do fine." I say, giving him a warm smile.

Adrian didn't reply right away, purposely ignoring her. At last he turned his head and eyed her up and down, frowning dissaprovingly. If there was one thing he couldn't stand, it was people who tried to kiss up. And in his mind, that meant anyone who approached him with smile. Smiles were always reason for suspicion... They either indicated insanity or insincerity.

"Ah, you must be Miss Treasurer slash Secretary, who managed to steal two positions, unlike the rest of us who were satisfied with merely one. I am Adrian Derrik. If you must address me, you may call me by my title, Vice President. Don't think just because we're on this Council together it means we're going to be 'buddies' or anything like that."

He turned his attentions away and continued to glare at the students below.

"I must say, I'm rather impressed with the punctuality of our fellow members. I do hope the other students take example of our amazing organization." he quipped, sarcasm dripping from his voice.

Femke stepped off the elevator just in time to hear the words of her fellow student council member. Her brows furrowed. It's a damn good thing I had a drink before this. She took a deep breath before clearing her throat, alerting all nearby to her presence. Her face was blank.

"It's not our fault you were early. You made that choice yourself. I was hoping to not start out on the wrong foot, but if someone cannot learn to cooperate well with others...then they shouldn't have accepted the position." Her lips then slid into a lazy smirk. "Now that I've made myself clear, I believe introductions are in order. I am your President, Femke Metternich. I'm sure it will be a pleasure working with you two."

Femke then took a seat on one of the white iron chairs, sprawling out like a lion in the heat of afternoon. Her burgundy hair spilled over the seatback, sighing before asking, "So there's another council member left, right?"

She tilted her head and chuckled softly. In all honestly, she didn't know why she laughed, but she did. "And if you need to adress me, call me Noir. I prefer to not be called Secretary-slash-Treasurer. It's too long for my taste." she said, mimicking his sarcastic tone. "I didn't expect us to be friends the very first time we met. Only fools would do such things." She turned to look as Femke entered and smiled lightly in greeting to her.

"I'm sure it will be a pleasure working with the both of you as well." She nodded to her question of there being one more council member. "Aye.. the other vice president, I believe."

The elevator reached ground level just as Rachel approached. Someone else is already there. Should be interesting. She slid back the gate and stepped inside. The ironwork caught her eyes as she closed the gate. Roses. Of course.

No buttons to press -- apparently the balcony was the only stop. The ride was smooth and quiet, no sudden jerks or squeaks.

Rachel could hear voices from the balcony proper as the elevator stopped. The gate rolled open noiselessly. Sneaky, that, she thought, smoothing down her uniform as she walked forward. You'll never hear anyone coming.

"Aye.. the other vice president, I believe," someone was saying. It didn't sound like Derrik. Femke or Angel, then.

"And here I am." Rachel gave the three other Student Council members seated around the ironwork table a half-smile. She sat down in the last unoccupied chair. 'Does this count as fashionably late?"

From the shadows of the Student Council tower's main floor, Anthy observed the Duelist's first official meeting with mild interest. More girls than boys this time, something that didn't happen very often in her experience.

Anthy hadn't been assigned to any of them. Instead, there was to be a contest for the right to be the first Victor. Usually it was a duel or round of duels, but it didn't have to be. Some of the alternatives had been rather...entertaining.

Anthy's lips curved in a small smirk; her fingers cupped the stem of the rose at her breast. She had the perfect contest in mind. These children might not find it amusing, but she would.

Decision made, she composed herself and continued to wait.

The lone figure in his tower smirked as he gazed through his telescope. All the players were on the field now. It was time for everything to begin.

Everything seemed so tense down there! He knew he'd chosen right. This time. This time he'd find the one. This time the power would be his once more.

She turns towards the elevator as the other vice president enters and bows in greeting as she leans against the railing beside Adrian, or as she wanted him to call him, 'Mr. Vice President'.

"So.. shall we get down to business?" She asks, standing up with her handbag in her hands.

Angel Le Noir

"So.. shall we get down to business?"

"Sounds good to me." Rachel clasped her hands in front of her on the table. The ring the letter called a Rose Signet glinted in the sunlight. "Which begs the question...what is our business? We've been chosen as duelists to revolutionize the world. What does that mean, exactly?"

Gregor carefully placed his satchel on his desk and seated himself on the small chair. His homework space was all laid out as neatly as possible, pencils all sharpened, pens in a separate holder according to color, and books all stacked and lined up by subject. Math first, followed by science, then history, then language arts. He pulled out his notebooks from the satchel and frowned over them as he began on his work.

The teachers this year seemed to be fairly good, although his History teacher tended to drone in circles, talking about the same thing repeatedly. Physical Education, though...that was a pain, as usual. Far too many people couldn't mind their own business about things. What did it matter to them if he was thin and out of shape and athletically challenged? The only muscle that really mattered was the brain, after all. He gritted his teeth as he turned a page in his notebook. And I have not got skin like chalk. Obnoxious, chattering girls.

All in all, typical start of a school year. Ohtori never changed.

She shrugs lightly as she leans back in the chair, staring at the table blankly. "I don't really know myself... The power to revolutionize the world. It obviously has something to do with that girl in my letter... the...'Rose Bride'. But that's as much as I could figure out."
