It is neccessary for there to be a working money system. Thus, this thread. I will explain the system in this post. In the following posts, members will post how much money their character has, and how much of it is with them. This way we don't have problems with people having 'infinite' supplies of money. We're trying to keep this realistic. Sort of. You will be expected to keep this updated. The mods will check on you. This is not meant to be overly restrictive, this is meant to make this more fun - After all, what challenge is there in getting supplies, if you don't have limited funds, and need to determine which items to get? Eventually, I hope to have set up an inventory system. These will also help those who want to be blacksmiths, merchants, or innkeepers, and hopefully make this more fun for them as well.
The money of Lienae is in the standard gold, silver, and copper coins of fantasy tales. This is so it will be easier to keep track of. You can choose how much to start with (within reason, a peasant isn't going to have a million gold coins stashed away somewhere, and a noble is unlikely to only have a total of twenty), and earn it in various ways - doing favors, working for it, completing quests(including guild events).
Again, more changes are hopefully coming - eventually I hope to set things up so that there will be art to do with your character that can be purchased using guild money, and possibly other things too. This is as yet only a vague idea in my mind, but with luck - and more active members - it will be implemented this summer.
Now, for the simple system:
One gold coin = 15 silver coins
One silver coin = 25 copper coins
Gold coins are 2 inches across and 1/2 inch thick, silver are 1&1/2 inches across and 1/3 inch thick, and copper coins are the size of a penny only pure copper.
Needless to say, the gold coins are going to be pretty heavy - so account for it in the amount you are carrying with you. There will be NPC moneychangers in every town that you can enact to get lighter change, except for during events, when all NPC's are controlled by the mods.
Your character may carry writs to exchange for money at the moneychanger's - but they can not write them, as they must be signed by another moneychanger who had been given the money to hold in advance. In this fashion moneychangers act sort of like a bank. Any money that a writ is turned in for should be transferred in your post from 'stored' to 'carried', and you must have posted how many writs you have and how much they are worth. These writs can also be used in payment, if they happen to be of the exact amount, as anyone can use them once they're signed - they are also a prime target for thieves. Most moneychangers have chests they will sell you if the writ is worth more gold than you can carry.

Total: 4,692 gold coins, 293 silver, and 167 copper coins, most of which is back home with her Icarii family, although she does carry a few writs, redeemable at moneychangers, so that she can get more money if she needs to.
Writs: 3 writs worth 150 gold each
1 writ worth 500 gold
5 writs worth 30 gold
4 writs worth 15 gold
Carrying: (in pack) 8 gold coins, 19 silver, 17 copper.
(in pouch on person) 1 gold, 1 silver, 21 copper
