For once in your life, you feel like the stars are within reach of your outstretched hands. You feel like you can dance on the moon for years and years. You get the feeling that nothing in this world can go wrong, until that feeling is removed with only one sentence, “I don’t love you anymore.”
You wake up one day feeling pretty much normal, walking to your computer to do home school work. You go to a chat room to receive help on your math courses since you are very horrible at math. During that chat room, you meet someone who helps you out a little bit. Later in the month, he is asking you to date him. Only problem with this is he lives far away. Your determination and your love for this boy keeps you two together no matter the distance, until a friend gets in the way. Next thing you know, the one you thought you could fly to the moon with is flying there with someone else, and that someone else happens to be a good friend of yours.
The stars that used to be in reach now fall further away from you, making them hard to grab. The moon seems dull, making you not want to dance, and that feeling of nothing going wrong turns into nothing will ever go right. It is like your world does a summersault and you are powerless to do anything about it. You see your friend and the one you love talking and hanging out with each other while you are on the side streets, holding what heart you have left together. You noticed that he is happier with her than he was with you so you bow your head, admit defeat, and continue on with your life alone.
Now your heart is cold, ruin, and nothing but a stone. You see other couples in love and it only kills you more inside. Rage, hate, useless love all swim through your head as you watch them, remembering what you used to have. You find out later that he never really loved you, in fact, he was miserable while dating you so now you feel used and you feel like you are the worlds biggest fool. Blinded by your own feelings, you did not see that he only wanted you, not your personality. A good friend tries to cheer you up, but deep down, that friend knows that there is no cure for this, not even loving another. Though your friend admits that he has loved you for the longest time and you have feelings for him as well, you do not see yourself dating anyone ever again, afraid of becoming a fool again.
Time seams to stand still, people seam to go on as nothing has happened, and children continue to play not knowing the pain you are going through. You try to mask it, try to show to the world that you are ok, but deep down you know you are not ok.
One day during a small walk around town, you see the boy you first fell in love with and he is alone. You run to him hoping he will change his mind when your friend walks out of a building and wraps her arms around him. You look at this and feel like your heart is ripped to shreds and that it is your friends fault, but it’s not. Destiny plays tricks on us all making us believe that this is what we are supposed to have when it is not.
You go home that night and the house is empty, your family is out shopping for birthday presents for you. You pick up one of the twin daggers that your mother bought for you and you hold it in your hands, unsheathed. You keep turning the blade in your hand, watching the glow from the steel shine. Then you hang your head feeling useless and destroyed. Then you shove the blade into your own heart. You fell from the couch you were sitting on and as you hold your bleeding chest in your hands, you whisper words into the air. By the time your parents get home, it is too late.
That same night, the boy you loved dreams of you and actually watches you die in your living room. The words you whispered into the air spoken more loudly this time. Your last words are “Sorrow sank deep inside my blood. All the ones around me that I cared for and most of all I loved. But I can’t see myself that way, please don’t forget me or cry while I’m away. ”
The other boy who loves you truly also sees this dream. He calls your home multiple times trying to get a hold of you but your mother picks up. She tells him the horrible news that you have killed yourself. He drops the phone and fell to his knees, crying over the loss of you. Around a week later, he also kills himself so he can be with you. He finds you in heaven and tried to talk to you. You feel stupid for taking your own life when someone out there loved you for who you are. Now that he is with you in heaven, you promise that you will be by his side and forever that is where you remain.
The moral to this story is do not put all of your faith into relationships. 90% of them will crash and leave you hurting for the rest of your life. Half of this story is true, half is not. What is true is up to you to decide.
