The basics of the Exchange
Exchanging is pretty simple, when you get the hang of it. Here's what you need: Trading pass Vending License A lot of pure (Gold) Maybe some items (People like to trade for items instead of gold)
Ok, here's how the exchange works. It's a place where people sell their items. Why don't they use the market? Because, they want gold, and they want it now! They want to make as quick a sale as possible. People sell in the exchange to get gold fast, so generally, they sell for a little to a lot cheaper than the market prices. You should take advantage of this!
1. Make sure you have some gold on hand. (Preferably, 20k+ is good) 2. Exchangers like to haggle, so be flexible and don't try and make 50k off of one item. 3. Not all people in the exchange are so quick to sell their items for cheap, so if they want really close to the market price, go find someone else who's selling. 4. You will not be the only one exchanging, there are a lot of bargain hunters out there.

Exchanging
Exchanging is a very profitable business. You can make 1k-10k a day! Maybe even more! So here's how you exchange:
Sellers in the Exchange sell for cheaper than market prices, so take advantage of this. Buy an item for cheap and re-sell it for a little more than you bought it for and you made a profit! Here's an example:
Someone is selling a Flame Sword. The Lowest Buy Price in the market is 20k. I offer 18k for it. He may accept it, or he may not. He may ask for more. That's fine. If he asks for 19.5k, haggle a little. Offer 19k. If he accepts, awesome! You got a Flame Sword for 1k less than the market price! Now what? Take it to the market! Put it in for 20k. Bing! Someone buys it and you made 1k in about 10 minutes!
More hints:
1. There are lots of sellers in the exchange, just look at any thread and see what's for sale. 2. Sellers usually make ABs (auto buys) for items. Don't AB things, unless they are good deals. ABs are usually at or above market price.

Exchange Do's and Don'ts
Do's: - Be nice to Sellers and fellow Exchangers, alike. It may come in handy and you may make new friends. - Bring items. Some people like to exchange items for other items.
Don'ts: - Don't be mean to Sellers or Exchangers, they may never help or sell to you again. - Don't offer like a noob, people hate when you say "2k for the Dark Halo?"

What to buy
- Donation items are great! But watch out for Artificial Inflation, if you buy an item when it's really expensive, it may go down by a lot before you can sell it, which means you can lose a lot. - Event items are ok, but only during a certain holiday. People will buy more Christmas clothes around Christmas because they're trying to make holiday avitars. - Rares are ok as well. Items such as Angelic Headbands and Nitemare Claws are rares, but sometimes they don't do so well. - Commons are ok too, but mainly more popular, or more expensive ones. Certain commons are more popular than others. (Leather belts from Durem Depot are more popular than pajamas from H.R. Wesley) - Game items are a no! Game items are not very popular. If you're looking for game items, go to the Game Item Exchange.

Exchange terms
People in the exchange use a lot of words you may not have heard of. It always helps to be in on the new slang!
Haggle: Barter. To make an agreement on prices. Lower or higher asking price/wanting price. Vend price: Lowest Buy Price in the market place. AB: Auto buy. An item is set at a certain price, if you offer that price, the item is yours. TO / T/O: Taking offers. Some one may just want to know how much they can get for an item. If the price is right, they may sell Sealeds: Sealed envelopes. The ones you get for donating to Gaia. W: Wanted/Wanting S: Sell/Selling B: Buy/Buying * Some items have abbreviations, I won't name them all but I'll give you some. COC - Chain of Command D Halo / D H - Dark Halo
