The party came around a bend in the road, bringing Ardun Lake into view. It was a vast expanse of blue, sparkling in the late afternoon sun. On the north bank of the lake was the edge of the Great forest, and to the east were the snow capped mountains. The lake seemed endless to Renna, as she gazed at it.
Dotting the shoreline were remnants of the country's time of prosperity, just before the war. Now most lay in heaps of ruin, while other relics lay hidden in the shallows of the water. She had been here only once before as a young child, and did not remember the grandeur of the place. Her breath caught in her throat as her eyes roamed over the glassy surface that hid centuries old secrets in its depths.

((Excellent))

Crow strechted and sat at the edge of the cliff, eyeing all the world beneath his dangling boots. "It's really magnificent isn't it? Surprising what a little bit of peace will do."

Vita lifted her head, closing her eyes to all distractions. Carefully, she scented the air. Sensing nothing wrong, she opened her eyes to take in the sights.

Crow stared out across the waters now, watching the horizon, barely able to make out the other side of the lake, even with his eyesight. "Water, water, everywhere..." he quoted, tossing a lone pebble into the lake. It landed with a hearty Plop, sending millions of ripples out from a central point. So to does one action affect the entirety of our worlds, he thought to himself. How different might my world be if I had never come here? How different would the world be? Crow glanced around at his new found friends, and smiled to himself.

Distracted by the sudden movement, Vita's attention focused on the pebble's rings as they dissipated into nothing.

Renna walked a short distance away from the rest of the group, down onto a grassy bank. It was littered with rubble from the toppled columns that used to stand there. In the shallow water she watched tadpoles and small silver fish weave through the water-grass.
She sat down on a chunk of column, sitting halfway out of the water and stared out over the water. She could remember wading waist deep in the water as a child, and trying to catch the slippery little fish with her hands.

The urge becoming too strong to deny, Vita loped off in a direction almost parallel to the lake. Once she found a particularily soft spot of grass, she threw herself down and rolled. Not yet used to her new human friends, she did not change to wolf form as she would have preferred. Once done rolling, she calmly stood up, brushed herself off, and strolled back towards the humans.

Crow smiled. "An excellent idea Ashle." He immidiately pulled out his sketch pad and pencils, shading and scribbling away at the paper, trying to capture the moment of each passing hour. He crummpled up a piece of paper and tossed it toward Vita. It contained several lines of flowing script. I can see why you might not be quite comfortable with us yet. Do not be ashamed in it. I hide what I am from the world, as you have every right to.

Once she had looked at the paper it was hard for her to keep her face neutral. The same, well-worn doubts crossed her mind. Should I be here? Why did I ever leave? Am I ready to remain human? Pushing them even deeper into her mind, she looked out over the lake before tkaing a look at Crow's drawing pad. "Do you spend much of your time drawing what you see?" She asked him.

Crow smiled, sketching in a few more lines as he spoke. "Yes, I do, since Most people I know haven't seen what I have seen, and probably never will. I carry around my sketchpad to show the worlds that I have seen." He tucked his pencil behind his ear for a moment. "I also have been known to draw what I have not yet seen. Sometimes the pictures come out far too blurry to make out any distinguishable shapes, and at others, the detail is horrifically clear. That's how I knew what my mother would do be fore she did it." He hung his head and returned to his sketching, his eyes and emotions hidden behind his sunglasses.

Renna unwrapped her boots and shoved them off, setting them on the rock. She tossed her vest, belt and pants on top of them and dove into the cool, deep water. She had been feeling the urge to jump in and explore ever since she'd come near the water's edge. Under the glassy surface, the water was unbelivably clear. She swam deeper, gawking at the crumbling ruins that lay in the mud at the bottom. Fish and plants were abundant here on the bottom of the lake. It was like some otherworldly realm where she alone existed. She could see everything around her, and many of the things in the distance.

Renna figured she had been under for nearly a minute and a half, and would have to surface for air within the 30 seconds. But her curiosity drove her deeper into the water toward a cloudy area. As she swam through the unsettled dust, something huge began to take shape before her. The further she went, the sharper the angles became. As she broke through the last of the debris, the ghostly white gleam of a building met her eyes. She had to tear herself away from the mysterious sight and head for the surface to take another deep breath.

As her head broke the surface, she sucked the fresh air into her lungs, filling them to their maximum capacity. She took a second to wind her hair into a knot at the base of her head to reduce water resistance, and then dove back into the cloud.

Back in this underwater world that seemed so seperate from the world above, she paused at the threshhold of the building, long forgotten by the rest of humanity. Ducking her head inside to check the structural integrity of the stonework, she saw what was once a great antechamber, bedecked with carvings and statuary. Almost entranced, she floated through the doorway and into the corridor just ahead. The windows were still intact, though the wrought-iron framework was thick with rust. There was a door before her, dark richly stained wood, heavy by the look of it. She grabbed at the corroded latch, but is seemed to fade away to dust at her touch. She gave the large door a gentle shove, and the hinges did the same as the latch, watching as it sank slowly to a brilliantly tiled floor.

As she floated through the doorway, she came into an immense chamber. It's statuary, and delicately tiled floors, now overgrown with plantlife. The ornately carved pillars, covered in mosses and freshwater shellfish. And the vast stone dome they supported, retained only a memory of it's once vibrant mural. The faint colors seemed to shimmer before her eyes, and she swam up to find out why. It was an air bubble! The ancient plantlife here had created enough oxygen in the area, that an air bubble had formed in the domed celing.

Renna grinned as she took another breath and dove back towards the floor far below, ready to explore the rest of this great relic. (time since surfacing 2 1/2 minutes)

"I can see the wisdom in that. Drawing what you see, I mean. Although, Sight may be good as well. In the village where I hail from, an old woman had Sight. We came to her whenever we needed to know something. She lived off what we brought her," Vita spoke before finding her way down to the edge of the water. She laid down on her belly, gazing into the water. She drew her fingers across the surface, happy to be so near to her element.
