I just thought it would be cool to talk about other concerts we've been to, because concerts are amazing like that. So what concerts have you been to (any band will do)? What exciting concert moments have you had? All that jazz? Be warned, if you talk about Incubus, I'll probably kill you with my jelousy...

Ive been to a lot of concerts...but probably the best was the Raconteurs. Ive seen them a couple times and theyre always AMAZING. Ormaybe the Mars Volta. Im a HUGE Volta fan so that was amazing. Ive also seen The Strokes, Eagles of Death Metal (SO BAD), Modest Mouse, Coheed and Cambria, Muse, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beck (Im not sure how that happened), Death Cab, AFI, Tiger Army, Saosin, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Thrice, These Arms are Snakes, Silversun Pickups, Planes Mistaken for Stars, Ornette Coleman...and a bunch more but theres no point in naming them all. Best moment...um...an intimate moment with Jack White. Oh and the time I got ditched by my scared friend and ended up moshing with this hardcore gang.

I wish I had seen Nirvana. Or Smashing Pumpkins. Or the Doors. Or Rage.
Anyone go to warped? I didnt get to go this year because I was in New York when it came to S.F.
grrrrrr

Best concert so far: Collective Soul. Saw them for free at the, bleh, University of Alabama homecomming a couple years ago. That's right. Suprise, I live in the cultural white hole that is Alabama. Anyway, the concert was amazing, Chinese Dentist, the best local band ever, opened and we got there about 2 hours early in the freezing ******** cold (this cannot be stressed enough), ended up standing there for about 6 hours front row center, but Collective Soul was SO cool. I don't particularly like there music and didn't recongize their songs at all, but they had the best stage presence ever. Plus it was like no stress, and I always get stressed about concerts. But it was just me and one of my best friends rocking out to a band we never listened to before.

Other memorable moments, seeing Nine Inch Nails with Saul ******** Williams (one of my top 5 favorite living people) who I met at a book signing before the show, and then seeing Nails again like 2 months later. The great thing about living in the south is you can get tickets to big name bands like a week before the show and still get decent seats. Not great, but still. Then there was DJ Shadow, who we got to 6 hours early when in fact, the next person in line got there about 45 mintutes before doors open and when the show was supposed to start (it started about 30 minutes late) there was still ******** room on the front row). But we got to hear sound check through the back door of the venue which was ******** cool. And then I saw Eric Clapton with my dad which was pretty cool. Best guitarist I will probably ever see.

I've also seen Snoop Dog, but nearly was suffocated by the croud. Honestly I've lived a sheltered life when it comes to concerts. First concert I ever saw really (not counting the Doc Watson Music Festival) was My Chemcial Romance which I went to with a Alkaline Trio obsessec friend in October of 05 I think. I had never heard any of the bands before, but it was only like $25 all things concidered which I thought was't bad.

But then I have friends who saw ******** Radiohead at Bonarroo (supposedly their best concert ever) and another one who got on Ray Lamontagne's guest list for a sold out show. They are actually like really friends with Ray Lamontagne (and I'm butching that spelling), and they called his manager and were like "hey, the show is sold out" and they were like "don't worry, we'll take care of it" and they hung out with him after the show all night. Whenever I compare the musical experiances of people I know to myself I get really depressed...

Which is why comparing yourself to others is bad... AMERICA!

But seeing Hurt played live is the most beautiful thing I've ever experianced so I guess I really can't complain. One of the best songs of all time. Except at the first show the audience screamed the whole time and Trent got really pissed at them. It was sad/hillarious.

Im so ******** jealous you saw NIN!!! That is a band I need to see NOW.
AND ERIC CLAPTON. Hes one of my heroes
Alabama...unfortunatly Ive never been to the south- but I really want to go. Im thinking about taking a road trip all over the southern states. My life is divided between San Francisco, LA, and New York so I havent gotten a chance to go many other places. =(

Thats funny- my friends usually have the worst concert experiences ever.
