Attention!
Have you ever read the book Eragon?
How about Eldest?
Did you ever think that they would make a good movie?
IF you answered Yes to any of these questions STAY AWAY FROM THE MOVIE!!!
I work at a book store and think that the Eragon book was one of the best things ive read in years. For the movie they took the whole lot of the book and tossed it out the bloody window. The only thing they did right was keep the names and make the dragon look good. THATS IT!
If you liked the book STAY AWAY! This movie is a discrase and should be labled 1 out of 5 at BEST.
Sorry for the rant.

I agree.
Saphira looked good but they cut out alot of main charaters (which is sad).

I haven’t had time to read Eragon yet, however I have been meaning to.
One thing that I really hate is when people take a book to the chopping block when they are making the movie.

I haven't seen Eragon and now I'm glad I didnt..... also just fyi, don't go see Blood and Chocolate if you liked the book the least little bit! I loved that book, it was my first werewolf book I ever read and they murdered it! and the casting was horrible!!! The main char. is a girl who is supposed to be tan with thick hair and etc. And they made her pale with stringy hair.... hello?! shes not a vampire!!!! she a WEREWOLF.

heh... there's a nearly-unbreakable rule involving books and movies:
If the book came first, then the movie is not as good.
If the movie came first, the book SUCKS.
I don't know why it works that way, but it does. The closer the movie follows the book, the worse than the book the movie is. does that make sense...?

It's like that with a lot of books. The Eragon movie was good BY ITSELF, but when compared to the awesomeness of the book, it SUCKS. It's the same way with the Harry Potter books and movies, at least in my opinion.

This isn’t always true, personally I loathed the original novels for 101 Dalmatians and Bambi. But the animated Disney movies rock! ^_^ As for Eragon I saw it a little while ago and I wasn’t impressed at all there is so little going on in that movie that my short attention span couldn’t take it.

Why does everyone here like Eragon? gonk I hated, hated, HATED that book. The sequel was worse.

sweatdrop I actually watched the movie first, before I could get my hands on the first Eragon book. I think the movie ruined it for me, because I usually love dragon things.. and now I'm having trouble trying to talk myself into read it. Maybe because I didn't like the movie, it was way too rushed.

Tanis Larnet the book is 1000 times better. do we have to get a whip to make you read it? razz Ahhh! No! I'll read it! crying Want a detailed report after I'm done it?! lol. I'll attempt to read the book sometime this weekend. whee I just realized.. you look way too happy at the concept of whipping crying Mommy!

Then I went and got the book and I do see what you mean about alot of stuff being left out, but I cant say I really liked the book all that much. I've read Eldest as well, but it was a reading I had to struggle with. I guess its just the writing style I dont like so much because normally that type of content is right up my alley. So I didnt hate them... but didnt love them. It was just "bleh" neutral

I hated what they did to the dragon her wings looked like feathers! Oh AND did you know that the director never even read the book! How stupid is that!!
