Geography
The Palms is located on Flamingo road, a significant distance away from the Vegas Strip. This affords the sept slightly more privacy, as it is located far enough away from the more fancy, touristy theme hotels, such as Caesers Palace or the Luxor. There is only one "real" entrance into the hotel, and that is through the main entrance and the lobby of the hotel. However, there is rumored to be a second entrance that connects to the sewers.
The BawnThe Bawn of the caern extends directly around the resort, anything outside the hotel is outside the bawn. This feels cramped and uncomfortable for most Garou, but the Glass Walkers are fine with it.
The CenterThe Casino is the center of the caern, the caerns heart is located there. The Casino is filled with as many slot machines can be fit in there, creating a maze of electric lights and noise and money. The heart is in the middle of the casino, where there is a ring of slot machines, interspersed enough that an average sized human could fit in between them and into the heart. Around 4-6 gaurds surround and watch the heart at all times, though they do so as covertly as possible. The slot machines forming the border of the heart are inactive, and are rarely turned on. Standing inside the ring of slot machines places you in the heart of the caern, where the umbra and the phisical reality are one. Entering the heart is a rare privilage that only the elders of the sept can allow.
LandmarksAssembly AreaThe Palms has a total of about 14,000 square feet of meeting rooms. There are many types of rooms, small rooms for partys or smaller meetings, and larger spaces for huge gatherings among all the Garou in Vegas. The number of availible spaces allows for numerous packs to meet at the same time in realitive privacy. Most of the spaces are set up like corperate board rooms, allowing for the rigid, structured moots the Glass Walkers hold. The younger sept members have a habit of holding their own moots at the various bars in the resort, though their favorite is the Ghost Bar, where they hold raves and partys almost nightly.
The Ghost BarThe Palms defining feature is the Ghost Bar. Located at the very top of the hotel, the 55th floor, the Ghost Bar is the most popluar spot for younger Garou. The main feature of the Ghost Bar is the "ghostdeck", a see through acrilic overhanging that looks down 55 storys to the street below, making it seem as if one is standing on nothing, and about to fall down to his death. It is loud and chaotic, but those who visit like it that way. The bar also has an indoors area, where one can sit down and get drinks, and always has a live band of some sorts playing every night. You have to wait for about 10-15 minutes downstairs to get in.
The RoomsRenting out a room in the hotel as a sort of apartment is possible. The rent is farily low, and the sept is somewhat lenient on missed payments. Most Garou who rent rooms in this manner also take jobs at the resort if possible. The hotel is very large, allowing for significantly more Garou to live inside the sept then other caerns. However, about half the rooms are temporary residences, acting in a similar fashion to normal hotel rooms. Only Garou, some kinfolk, and a few members of other changing breeds are allowed to stay at the palms, and for the most part, only Garou are allowed to live in the sept. This isn't that much of a problem though, as for the most part, only Glass Walkers would want to live in the hotel. There are three types of rooms availible to stay in.
"Deluxe Guestrooms"
Despite their name, these are the smallest (and cheapest) rooms availible. They offer 440 square feet of room, and come with a king size bed, small TV, and a phone, along with various other things such as modem connection and coffee maker. However, you need to buy coffee from the hotel, pay to use the modem, pay to watch movies, etc. If you are using a room as a permanent residence, all the furniture and such is removed, forcing you to buy your own.
"Junior Suites"
The medium sized rooms. All of these are located on the eastern end of the hotel, allowing for a good view. They are 540 square feet in size, and come with a larger TV then the deluxe guestrooms, more room, and more luxerys, such as bathrobes. As with the deluxe suites, one must pay to actually use anything, and if one is permenantly living in one of these rooms, one must buy all their furniture and such.
"Grand Suites"
The most expensive rooms. They encompas 1000 square feet, and include nicer everything, better views, etc. All of them are located on the top eight floors. Most of the grand suites serve as permanent residences for the most prominant (or wealthy) members of the sept, and the few that aren't are reserved for important guests.
