History

Thirty-seven years ago there was a war called "The War of the Last Dragon." It was a war against the daedric demons and their Prince, Mehrunes Dagon. The gates of Oblivion, which are the gates of hell itself, opened for the first time at the walls of Kvatch. During the dead of night, the daedra stormed through the city, destroying everything and slaying the Count of Kvatch. All this death and destruction was to find one man, Martin Septim, who was the heir to the Imperial throne.

What few men and women survived the seige barricaded themselves in the holy temple of Akatosh, hoping that help would arrive. Within those walls, Akatosh guarded the people and Martin Septim. After two days of fighting off the Daedra and living in fear that the demons would crash down the temple doors, a few soldiers of Kvatch and one brave hero came to rescue them.

That one person who lead the guards into the city was the one who entered the burning gates of Oblivion, fought the Daedra in their own realm and then destroyed the portal, breaking the siege. This courageous warrior took back the city and castle from the demons, slaying every last one. The greater good of one soul protected the heir and stopped the invasion of Mehrune's Dagon.

However, during that last battle against the Daedric lord in the Imperial City costed Martin Septim his life. After the fall of the last Emperor, the council of elders began to govern the land, hoping to restore the kingdom back to life. And the hero, who had done more than any man could dream of, disappeared.
