Silently i sit
the only noise the clicking tap tap
of the typewriter
quietly i continue
ignoring any rap rap
at the door
I enter into my own land
Words flowing wildly
my mind drifting lazily
like water on the sand
Welcome to this tiny place
this world inside my mind
be warned however, traveler
gods only know what you may find.

Welcome To Rainys Typewriter

Welcome to my first attempt at a portfolio sort of thing ^-^

Read, enjoy, review if you''d like. I number the TOC around comments and such, so don''t worry about that. Um...I really don''t know what to say about my poetry. Some things I love, some things I don''t. Not everything in here is poetry, but I''m really awful about finishing things. So poetry is what I have the most of. I''d like to post the one novel I actually did a good amount on, but I...lost the notebook. Which uber pisses me off because I really liked that one. *cough* anyways. Read, enjoy if able, tell me what you think. Live Love Dream. Rainy.

Why

Info: This is meant to be read outloud, but it can be read anyways, just doesnt have the same...effect. for helpful reading,
pause after each line. and on single word lines, read quickly. Not sure if it'll help much tho sweatdrop *shrug* just fyi jic

Why do people fall in love
fall
painfully
hard
into
love
emotions so strong
they burn inside
like fire
left untended
devouring its surroundings
What is it that drives the heart
to allow itself to fall
into this trap
of loneliness
hopelessness
fear
Is it a longing for companionship
hand to hand
mind to mind
heart to heart
flesh to flesh
Why does the mind let itself go
giving in to this shining darkness
that is
the creation and destruction of humankind
Happy
sad
caring
hating
kissing
yelling
make up your mind love
which is the way
that we are supposed to act
Why do we do this
to ourselves
laughing and crying
because of another
We allow this torment to enter our lives
draining us
little by little
as it brings us up
and pulls us down
So I ask the question
the burning
acheing
question
filling my mind
my heart
my soul
Why
do people
fall
in love?

Colors of my love

Yellow as the sun I watch set on my own
Green as the envy from watching you with her
Blue as the sadness; the tears that I cry
Red as my passion; burning deep inside
Pink as your lips that I secretly long to kiss
Silver as the mirror I criticize each morn
Gold as the necklace I helped you pick for her
Brown as her hair; its lighter than mine
Orange as the coat I wear; when I whisper to you my dark secret
White as your intentions; pure and clean; just a friend
Black as the darkness I'm kept in without you

These are the colors
of my life
my heart
my love

Memories Dead

Slipping silently into a dream
My mind wanders through what it may mean
In quiet curiousity I travel through my thoughts
Memories of days gone by
trying hard simply to connect the dots
My memories are broken
shattered
and misplaced
But I'm here to save the day
free the words I have incased
Inside the prison inside my own mind
I leave the dream of reality far far behind
I fight to unlock the doors I've locked myself
Bringing back the books of me I've put up on the shelf
Unrolling scroll after scroll of my life
these are not just history
they're records of my strife
So don't come and wake me
From the emptiness that you see
For I am here, inside my head
rescuing myself from a sea of memories dead

Dancing in the Moonlight

User Image

Dancing in the moonlight,
Fireflys sparkle in the air.
My dress is flowing silver,
Nightflowers in my hair.

Dancing in the moonlight,
Mocking birds sing from the trees.
My body swirls through fields,
Motions none but the twilight sees.

Dancing in the moonlight,
Young creatures roam the grass.
Fairys whisper in the wind,
As faerie groves I pass.

Dancing in the moonlight,
My love by my side.
His eyes shine like the sea,
As hand in hand we glide.

Dancing in the moonlight,
True emotions fill my heart.
He promises our time together,
And I can't wait for it to start.

Dancing in the moonlight,
Reality grips my mind.
I awake outside my dream,
Wishing I could rewind.

Laying in the sunlight,
I whisper to the sky.
Asking for a single wish,
A love Fate couldn't deny.

Very good. Having read alot of yours before I'm glad to see some new ones. Particularly Colors of My Love and Dancing in the Moonlight. (Even though I now have that 70s-80s song stuck in my head heh.) Anyways, very good, I sense most of yours are meant to be read at any rate, and I like playing around with them in my head. Keep up the good work. smile

Dont Paint Me Black

Whatever you do, don't paint me black.
Just because I dress this way, doesn't mean I'm dark inside. I wear clothes of charcoal and raven, but that doesn't make me starless. My clothes are obsidian, my make-up is shadowy, but I am not dreary.
You look at me and you say
"Gloomy." "Horrible." "Sinister." "Depressive." "Sad." "Foreboding." "Threatening."
I'm not.
Inside I'm brighter. An opaque purple. Clouded but still bright. Not the somber, melanoid youth you see before you.
I am a shining, yet cloudy, lilac of mauve and orchid. You criticize me, seeing me for only the oppressive, pitch-dark, angry teenager that you see.
Why can't you see beyond that? To the real me. A silvery reddish blue of magenta mulberry. I am the color of fun, love, royalty, and spirituality. I represent both riches and mourning. I am as bright and good as your faith and as dark and
powerful as your passions. I am bravery in battle and beauty in nature. I am one of natures greatest beautys.
What are you? You think you're a perfect ivory white.
Your not.
To be a true and beautiful color you have to have the strength and character to see the true color in others.
Others like me.
See the truth in me.
The truth behind the ebony clothing. I am the color of the most beautiful twilight; dark and foreboding, but mystifying and briliant.
My color is purple, bright as amethyst.
What's yours?

Trying To Find A Date

Info: This I wrote for a contest somewhere in Gaia. I made a few copies and had my friends and teacher read it. I got some good feedback, so I like it. I do, however, plan to edit it a bit. I want more interaction between the two main characters. But I'll save that for another day.

In a packed night club somewhere in the big city, darkness is broken by streams of colors and strobe lights. Music pulses through the air, as bodies move against each other with the beat. Fro a seat at the bar, a man watches the crowd, his eyes dark with an emotion deep and powerful. His drink, some clear liquor, sits on the counter beside him, untouched. His gaze drifts from person to person in the swarming mass of people. A woman passes in front of him, distracting him. His eyes follow her as she moves quickly to a stool a few seats down from him. He watches as she mumbles her order to the bartender. Her short red dress rises up on her thigh as she crosses her legs carefully. The man licks his licks and, after glancing once more at the pulsating crowd, stands and walks towards her.
~
She was sipping a martini as he approached, her dark lipstick leaving a perfect print on the thin glass.
"Hello." He said in a deep, seductive voice.
She looked up from her drink and gave him a grim smile. "Hi." she said flatly.
He raised his eyebrows at her smoothly. "Is everything alright?"
Letting out a delicate snort, the woman took a large swig of her drink.
He sat on the stool beside her. "Aw, what’s wrong baby?" He asked, his voice slick with open interest. She laughed shortly, "Life."
The mans smile widened. "Well, little lamb, why don’t you come with me? Maybe I can help you with that little...problem."
The girl looked up again, this time with almost tearful eyes. She gave a little smile and nodded. "I'm Mari." she said quietly as he helped her off the stool. Her tiny red shoes kept them at almost the same height, which surprised him, being very tall himself.
"My name is Alons." He said, leading her towards the exit.
She smiled "What a romantic name."
"Do you not think Mari is...romantic?" Alons asked as they stepped out into the cold, crisp air. Mari shook up head, looking up at the night sky.
"Well I think it is beautiful. Come." He led her silently down the block, turning into a small alley.
"Where are we going?" Mari asked, wrapping her arms around herself.
Alons stopped and turned to her. He ran his hand along her shoulder. "Come, little lamb, let me help you with your life...problems."
He held out his hand.
With uncertain eyes, Mari glanced behind herself. They weren't fully in the alley yet, but they were far enough that they wouldn’t be seen. A single light bulb burned orange above her. Alons stood only steps in front of her, and he was still at the edge of the lights circle.
Letting out a shaky breath, Mari put her hand over his
Alons smiled again, this time unpleasantly. With a jerk he pulled Mari close, his free arm quickly encircling her waist. She gasped, but was halted as his mouth covered hers in a forceful kiss. He spun quickly and moved forward, pushing Mari's back into the cold, hard brick of the alley wall.
"You" he said in between hard kisses "are the most sexy, succulent piece of girl I have ever seen. Absolutely delicious. And that, dear, is quite a compliment."
"The hand that gripped Mari's tightened as Alons moved his other arm, slowly raising it to her chest. Mari's already large eyes widened in fear as his hand squeezed her breast. She tried to struggle, but couldn't move. One arm was held by his hand, the other was trapped behind his back with nothing within reach. His mouth moved from hers, down her chin and neck. She took a deep breath, ready to scream. A sharp pain in her neck made her stop. She looked down to see his dark eyes filled with a cruel amusement. "You make a peep and I'll rip your throat out here and now. None of this would be painful if you would just...cooperate."
His gaze moved to her throat and his tongue flicked over his teeth. With hungry eyes he licked the side of her neck. Mari shuddered in revulsion. With determined effort she pulled up her leg sharply, kneeing Alons right on target. His body stiffened, eyes closing in obvious pain. But his grip on Mari did not falter, no matter how much she struggled. His eyes opened slowly, looking directly at her with a new sort of hatred and hunger. "Well little lamb," he said, his voice a low rumble "seems you have a bit more spite in you after all. I didn't see that at first. Well then, I guess we should skip the foreplay."
With that he moved his hands quickly and pulled her body hard away from him. She stumbled and fell a few yards to the side. As an instinctive reaction she pulled herself up, whimpering in pain as she limped away from her attacker.
"Oh don't run little lamb." Alons said, walking slowly towards the scared girl. Mari kept going, realizing too late that she had gone the wrong way. She moaned as she came in contact with a solid brick wall. It was a dead end. An abandoned car was left, broken and useless, in one corner. The alley was empty except for the young girl and the man chasing her.
"Don't worry young one," Alons said in a voice almost sincerely attempting to reassure her "this will only hurt if you make it."
Mari backed against the wall as Alons approached, her breath fast and eyes wide. "Please..." She whispered, pleading.
Alons tisked, shaking his head. His fingers went straight to her neck, stroking the skin lightly.
"Ssshh little lamb." He breathed into her ear. He pulled back slightly, gazing into her frightened face. Mari whimpered, making Alons smile once more.
Suddenly Mari's expression changed. Her eyes opened normally, her eyebrows furrowing in anger. "Get...off...me." She growled, her voice deep and furious.
"Oh now, don't be mad." Alons cooed, his fingers lingering above her breast.
With a loud, angered cry Mari's arm snapped up, grabbing Alons by his silk collar.
"How dare you!" She yelled, lifting him by his shirt. His feet dangled as she held him up. "You piece of dirt!"
With inhuman strength Mari threw the man to the side. The sound of shattered glass echoed through the alleyway as Alons collided with the car window. Letting out a surprised groan he fell to the ground.
Mari stalked towards him slowly. "How dare you assume you are worthy to be with me."
She reached down, pulling him up and pushing him against the car.
"You, you piece of slime, forcing yourself on women because they don't want you. You b*****d!" With a scream she spun him around and let go, letting him fly backwards and slam into the opposite wall.
Alons, his body scraped and broken, slid down the wall into a heap on the dirty ground. His slick, oily hair fell over his face as his already bruised head slumped to the side.
"No!" Mari barked, coming to a kneel in front of the crumpled man. "Wake up." Her hand slammed across his face with a loud crack.
With a groan his eyes opened slowly. Mari gripped his shirt with both hands and pulled him up.
"Please...please don’t..." Alons moaned. Mari's eyes widened in outrage.
"How dare you!" With her free hand she slapped him again with full force. "How dare you plea for you life! How dare you ask for mercy when you would have shown none to me only minutes ago!"
She pinned him against the wall carefully, his head to the side so his neck was fully exposed.
"You are not worthy of my body! Or my gift!"
With a quick movement of her jaw, Mari opened her mouth abnormally wide. Her canine teeth began to grow. In moments they were long, sharp fangs that barely fit inside her own mouth.
Alons' eyes were round as saucers, filled with more terror than the pretend fear Mari had held in her own eyes almost moments ago.
With a low, guttural growl Mari reared her head back and plunged her fangs into the mans neck. Blood poured into her mouth as her teeth did their own work.
She could feel the blood already pumping through her own veins. For a moment Alons struggled, a gurgled cry stuck in his throat. But he quickly fell limp in Mari's arms. She shuddered at the ecstasy of feeding that filled her body. Multiple tremors of pleasure ran through every part of her being as she took the life of this pathetic excuse for a human being.
With a pleasured gasp she let the empty shell of Alons go. The body fell to the floor in a heavy, dead mound.
Mari breathed deeply. The scent of newly spilled blood still filled the air. The feeling of hot, fresh life juice pulsed through her loins. She took deep breaths of the cool night air, trying to calm her shaking body.
She looked down at the corpse at her feet.
"When will I find the man worthy of my gift? The man who will share the pleasure I feel as I make him like me. Why have I not found a single one who deserves it? Or deserves me?"
She lifted her heeled foot, giving the body an angry kick. "Damn you." she whispered to the night.
Slowly she left the alley. Wiping her mouth she re-entered the club, giving the bouncer a seductive smile as she slipped past him.
Once again at the bar, she ordered another martini. She hid her scraped knee under the counter as it healed itself.
Moments later a girl came up to the bar, sitting beside Mari.
"Hey M, find anyone yet?" she asked, raising her hand to get the bartenders attention.
Mari shook her head, eyes never leaving her drink.
"No?" The girl asked, surprised. "I've seen you leave with three guys already. None of them were good?"
Mari's lips curved at the intended pun.
She sighed. "I told you this club idea wasn't going to work. There just aren't the right kind of guys in a place like this. It's just not that easy for a vamp to find a boyfriend."

The end.

For now...

Path

Faded dreams light my way
As I walk a road alone
My eyes linger on the horizon
As the darkness brings an end to the day
My feet stay firmly on the path, never alowing me to stray
I am too scared to leave it
Though try and try I may
With no one beside me
Only ever ahead
I watch the emptiness surround me
As my heart fills with dread

BANG
Your fist hits the wall
BANG
There it goes again
BANG
Your mad at me
BANG
Everyone can tell
BANG
I don't mean to make you like this
BANG
You say it's my fault
BANG
I'm sure it's not true
BANG
I try to explain
BANG
I can't change the way I am
BANG
It's not enough for you
WHACK
Different target...
CRACK
My head hits the wall
Silence.
Nothing
Nothing at all.

.A

Info: wrote this sonnet for class last year after reading the scarlet letter. if you know the story, you'll get it. if not...i screwed up...ggl sweatdrop Just thought i'd put it...one of the two sonnets i was ever fairly successful at..

A woman alone
with a love forbidden
keeps her heart stone
and her feelings hidden

When passion egnites
into lustful flame
the young woman fights
but the outcomes the same

With her new child
evidence of her sin;
her punishment mild;
the pain already burned in

Though questioned she will not reveal his name
Her love may cause grief, but she will not cause him shame.

After Happily Ever After

This is the prolouge of a collection of stories i PLANNED to write. Called After Happily Ever After.

User Image6

"Fairy Tales" always end with a happy ending, right? Its always "And they lived happily ever after" followed by "The End."
But...hey, its not the end. Is it?
Unless the super-lucky girl and her "right in the nick of time" prince died within the 10 seconds between "after" and "end", the unlikely couple still have the rest of their lives to determine if it really is happily ever after.
So "The End" is very much out of place.
But if it isnt the end, what is it?
At the end of every happy fairy tale, we see the amazingly fortunate cople either riding off to get married, or riding off after they're married. But, what happens after that? Do they go on and extravagently expensive honeymoon and be deliriously happy while having a perfect little boy, perfect little girl, with their perfectly trained and mannered golden retriever in their perfect castle thats so big they'll never in their lives even enter more than half of the rooms? Then have perfect best friends, and always loyal and friendly servants to do everything for them, so they all live the rest of their lives unbelievably rich and happy?
Thats probably what the cartoonists want us to think, but get real. Even with the perfect people, some one has to be odd. Even with the perfect lives, something has to go wrong.
So I just can't help but wonder. In the perfect world of magic, fantasy, and love, what's behind the storylines? What happens after "Happily Ever After"?

My Heavenly Hell
Info: I wrote this...about my last relationship. I guess the easiest explanation was that I was unhappy, but...he didn't notice.

I'm falling apart
Falling into oblivion
Wishing this was over
but glad it's just begun.

You are my heaven
But this is my hell
I'm trapped with my dreams
In a candy cane cell.

You wont help me escape
So its me that must try
If I can't get out
I'll have to smile while I die.
User Image
If I submit myself
To this heavenly hell
You'd always see it
But you could never tell.

I'd play in the darkness
I'd hide in the light
I'd go to the death
After losing the fight.
