Area Description: Those large gates that once held back an onslaught of daedric armies has now been warn down to merely an open entrance. The doors are no longer there and the path inside is merely a run down dirt road. There's nothing fancy about the entrance to Kvatch, but hopefully reconstruction will be well on its way to making your first look upon the city more delightful.
Guards: Only one guard stands at the gates.

A young elven girl with locks of bronze hair approached the empty gates of Kvatch. It was quite bright outside with few clouds in the sky. Putting her hand over those daring green eyes, she looked up at the sky before entering the city. The clouds seemed to move even slower than she did today. Her travel time was prolonged by 8 days, due to misfortunate events... Yuwi's chest heaved out and then caved back in as she took a deep breath. That misfortunate event only happened 12 days ago, which was almost two weeks. Tears began to fill up in her eyes, but before they could drop, Yuwi closed them as she took another deep breath to get her emotions under control. That's when she noticed a guard at the front gates. As they connected their gaze, Yuwi gave him a quick nod and a bashful blink of her eyes. Turning her back to him, she looked back at the road she had traveled on...

Whistling echoed near the gates of Kvatch, a slow but jolly tune. A fairly tall man, clad in leather and fur, moseyed up the path to Kvatch’s makeshift gate. The breeze blew the long blonde bangs out of his eyes, and he caught a glimpse of two people at the gate: a guard and a girl. Eyeing the girl for a minute, he decided she was an elf, probably one of the shorter ones. Wulfstan realized he was at the end of the trail, and thought about pulling one of his famous one-liners. Better not. This is my first day in Kvatch. I’d better not screw it up. Besides, she looks kinda bummed about something. He swore to himself in Nordic, because he knew he couldn’t just pass some sad, pretty elf girl without saying anything. A joke was in order. “Hey why’d the guar cross the road?” One would think that Wulfstan could make a better first impression than a “why’d the guar cross the road joke,” but he is a Nord after all.

The woman's attention immediately went the Nord man speaking to her. She would've expected a man of his look to come up to her in a bar, not in the center of a road in the middle of the day. He began telling her joke. "A Guar?" she asked, oblivious to what it was. Yuwi had been raised her entire life in Cyrodil and had never heard of that type of creature. He had perked her interest. "Tell me about Guar," she said to him, her tone of voice easily telling him that she was interested in what he was saying. It might not have been about his joke, but the Nord had passed up her first impression of him by speaking of something she hadn't inquired before.

The early afternoon sun lightly warmed Selene's shoulders as she ascended the path towards the city of Kvatch. Though she wasn't born during the great Daedric siege, she had read and heard a great deal about it. Frankly, Selene was surprised that it had survived at all and wasn't obliterated to the ground. The doors were open in a gesture of welcome and from what she could see, lightly squinting her azure eyes, there stood one lone guard. Sweat broke out on her forehead and the girl hurriedly wiped it away. Months of learning to avoid the authorities and be a mere shadow to execute those final blows to her target still left her wary when so close to an armed guard. But, Selene reminded herself, she looked like a respectable citizen and wasn't in this business anymore and therefore strode calmly by the man who barely gave her a second glance. Looking up ahead, where the first touches of civilisation were visible, Selene spotted a tall Nord man engaging in conversation with a Bosmer girl. Selene smoothed her dark red hair, resembling the colour of blood in the sun, and wiped the travel dust off her robe proceeding towards the couple. "Good afternoon. Sorry to interrupt but I am new in town and was wondering if either of you could tell me anything about it?" - She asked timidly with a smile.

“Well, a guar is like a walking stomach, see? They have two big legs, and a big mouth, with little arms, and even littler eyes. They eat scribs and shalks like candy, and’ve been known to attack the unsuspecting traveler now and again. Some of the more adventurous ones tend to overeat and vomit all over.” Wulfstan looked a little prideful as he discussed his animal knowledge, but his expression quickly changed, as if he were trying to remember something from way back. “Yeah, they’re fierce vomiters. I could’ve killed that guar, those boots were ruined.” He was just going to ask the Bosmer about her story, when an intriguing woman interrupted them. Heh. I’ll bet these two like to dance close to the fire! The answer to the newcomer’s question was just as much hidden from him: “Well, something about the daedra crushing it, until some hero showed up to save the city from a huge Oblivion Gate. It’s a pretty small town, but that’s about all I know. What about you two? Anything to add? I’m new here myself.”

Selene breathed a sigh of relief when the tall man she addressed turned and replied to her question. Not that she was nervous, but she needed to establish some kind of network within her new home. "Yes, I know some of that myself...I also heard it had something to do with Emperor Uriel's assassination. And there have been stories concerning an illegitimate son." - Selene answered thoughfully, keeping her gaze on the Nord. "Oh, I'm sorry...how rude of me. I'm Selene Colliére, how do you do?" The girl blushed, extending a slender arm to them both. "My story isn't anything interesting...I moved to Cyrodiil about two years ago and up till now lived in Cheydinhal, a rather prosperous town to the North East." - She added, feeling the cool breeze caress her face as she spoke. "I'm a scholar, mostly concerning magicka and Daedric cults and deities. How about both of you?"

"Yuwi, nice to meet the both of you," the young elven woman said with a bow. People were certainly different here than from down south in Leyawin. There was a larger variety and people were quite friendly. Her face brightened forgetting her misery for the time being and enjoyed time with these travelers. "I heard the fighter's guild set up camp here. I've been thinking of working for them for the time being," Yuwi stated, thinking about herself in a guild.

The guard sighed as he listened to these handful of people speak of Kvatch. "Yes, we are in need of a lord at this time. We cannot even get in our own castle due to the hostile ghosts inhabiting it. Its a shameful thing to admit, but its the truth. We're desperately in need of some help," the guard told them while keeping his eyes diverted to the side. He didn't feel the need to go into great detail, but was also feeling remorseful of the new diplomat trying to take up the throne. It was indeed a disgrace, but they needed someone to guide them in this re-construction era.

“A pleasure to meet you both, as well. The name’s Wulfstan Stormclaw, but you two can call me Wulf. I grew up in Skyrim, but after my clan and family were killed I became an anhaga, a wanderer. After I left, I did a brief little stint with the fighter’s guild in Bruma, an under the table kind of thing. When I said I was interested in becoming a member they sent me here. Something about a lot of work to be done.” He shrugged. There was little else to say. One could tell from his cadence and body language that Wulfstan wasn’t the smartest of people, even among the Nords, and he even admitted it. “I don’t have a lot of book smarts, but I make up for it with muscle and common sense.” He didn’t mention that he possessed a fairly decent amount of knowledge on folkloric beliefs and nature. If he told them everything now, they wouldn’t have any reason to talk to him later. He smiled at the two women, hoping there would be time to hit the bar before he met with the guild.
His hopes were cut short, when the guard interrupted them with news of the Castle’s infestation. “Ghosts, eh? Could be worse I guess. Looks like this is what the folks up in Bruma were talking about.” The soft sound of a guarskin drum echoed from over what was left of the city walls, as Wulf continued, “I’d better go check in with the guild. You guys are more than welcome to head over with me. I could sure use the company.”
And the help, he thought to himself.

Selene smiled coyly at Wulfstan as he introduced himself. The Nord, though intimidating at first was a genuinely nice person. And the pretty little Wood Elf Yuwi seemed to brighten up as conversation flowed between the three of them. Grasping the hem of her robe to step over a mud puddle, Selene was about to ask of any taverns when the guard from the gates interrupted with news of the recent developments in Kvatch. At the mention of ghosts, the girl perked up. "Ghosts? Undead? I don't know if I'm being too hasty but I'd be glad to offer my services to the fighters guild to help. Though my skills aren't...concerned with combat. I'm a decent summoner myself..." - She spoke nervously, eyeing the company. Turning to Wulf who mentioned visitng the guild, Selene nodded to him in a gesture of knowing. "I'll come along with you."

Yuwi listened to the guard as he spoke. The woman had never encountered a ghost before. "I'd like to come along also," the bosmer put in. "I wouldn't call it hasty. To me its going with the whim of the moment," Yuwi wasn't sure if she should've put it that way, but she didn't know what else to say. Heading in through the empty gates, she headed towards the fighter's guild with the others hopefully following along. The girl wasn't too interested in the gold, but in the fact of fighting a supernatural being.

The road leading to Kvatch's gates was an old one, traveled much over many years. Esgloroth stopped in the road's center and scanned the area. It seemed there was indeed much history here. He knew very little of the happenings years ago. He continued up the road until the location of the old gates was before him. A lone guard stood there. Not wanting to speak unless absolutely necessary, Esgloroth ignored him and continued on through the gateway. He wandered through the city for a few minutes until he came upon the Fighter's Guild. There seemed to be many people inside, so he himself walked in.

Esgloroth made his way up the path to Kvatch's gates one again. It seemed as though he had just been there. He nodded to the guard as he walked by and headed towards the main part of the town. Finding a nearby patron, he inquired as to where he might find the Mages Guild. When he recieved instructions on how to get there, he zig-zagged around structures and people until he found it.

Eajo followed Esgloroth for some will but intended on doing something with the armor so they split up at this point. Eajo walks up to the gate but then a loose pebble causes him to slip and all the armor to make a large Clunk. Eajo quickly gathered it and went through the open gate.
