As we all know, abortion is growing in popularity to rid oneself of a baby.
I was just wondering people's thoughts on this.

ok - i happen to have a really strong opinion about this.
first of all - if you're willing to have sex, willing to not use birth control or willing to accept the risks and imperfection of birth control, YOU SHOULD BE WILLING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS. babies don't materialize for no reason. a person initiates the sequence of possible pregnancy, and in my opinion you should atone for it. i think abortion is murder. no matter how old the infant is, how aware of pain they are, you are still putting a soul out of existence. that is wrong. abortion is just another form of murder, and perhaps the cruelest for taking away the life of a suprememly innocent child.

I think abortion should only take place if the child is a result of sexual abuse (like rape) and/or it was an absolute accident and you're still in highschool. I don't like abortions but If I got pregnant right now I would have one. I haven't even finished grade 11 yet, and it would jsut destroy my life. I would rather the child be gone before it is born then to suffer in poverty in our world.
To make a long story short, I think abortions should only happen if it is absolutely nessicary.

im sorry but i disagree. TheONLY time abortion should be an option is if you get raped. NO OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES.

Thats easier for a guy to say. But imagine if you got a young girl who's still in highschool knocked up. you would of ruined her life. Once you have a kid you have to settle down and put them before everything. A guy can just walk away from the situation. a girl has to deal with the results

a great way to avoid that would be to not have sex. rolleyes
and about the rape thing - i know that's a difficult subject, but i do know of a woman who got raped and she was brave enough to have the little boy. and i've heard he's the sweetest little kid you'd ever see. but the thing is this - if we're going to narrow abortions to "absolutely necessary circumstances," who's to say what's necessary and what's not? and should a rape be taken out on an innocent child? keep in mind that adoption is another choice - it's not like the ultimatum is between keeping the baby or murdering it.
the whole highschool thing - i already said that you shouldn't have sex if you don't want to deal with the results, but you can put a kid up for adoption, giving it life AND taking it away from a life in poverty.

hmmm. to tell you the truth, i don't really know, lol! but i've heard that it can be effective if you take it immediately... and i guess it would be better to be safe than sorry. what do you think?

man, my views are very feminine actualy...but still from a guy's point of view, and a guys needs.
1.) i don't like abortions AT ALL! but i realy don't think it is fair on the mother-to-be if she had no choice in the matter. and as was put before, it would be such a hard thing to deal with at a young age, or when otherwise not ready for a baby. so many of my friends were raped...it's such a sad thing...even my gf was raped before she met me, i don't know if she had to get an abortion or not, but...it was terrifying...and on top of that is the EMOTIONAL pain. after all, how would you feel, vamp, if YOU were some girl, and all of a sudden, right out of the blue..(doctor):" you missed your period because your pegnant. should i tell you mom?" and then all of a sudden...at school your a whore, the guy who did it spreads rumors that your a slut, and your parents blame you for all of it! you have this baby growing inside you, and your already having it hard as it is, with a 19 hour day, and 5 hours of sleep each day! tell me how you feel about that!
2.) as for having sex or not, heck, only do it if your ready to have a freakin baby! but you can't just blame the girls for having sex...it's a tough world out there, and guys have so many ways of getting what they want: soft, wet p***y! excuse the language, but it's true, and i know you guys all know it! peer pressure, seduction, and of course, the quick and easy way. rape.
3.) there wil never be a socialy excepted "this is an ok circumstance, and this isn't" so just forget about that! if there ever is, i'd protest it! it would only make things harder, and even more stressfull for girls and guys alike.
so, i say this. abortions should be left up to the pregnant young woman. no matter how much we don't like it.

Quite frankly, I just think abortions are so unnecessary. There are so many ways around having one. First off, for people under eighteen, most clinics will give out free birth control. And anyone over that age should still be able to get them cheaply from a clinic (it seems like any cost would be worth it, considering the possible consquences if you don't use birth control). Also, if it's in the case of a rape victim, there is such a thing as a "morning after" pill, which, unlike what many people think, don't kill an already existing fetus; the pill will only kill the sperm before they reach the egg (it takes a few days for those little buggers to get there).
Plus, if you look at how many people there are who are willing to adopt a child, if a girl just has the baby and gives it immediately up for adoption, if solves both problems (I suppose this only makes sense for girls who are over four months pregnant or so, because by then they've been carrying this baby so long they might as well wade the rest of it out).
Also, I know that personally, no matter what, I just couldn't kill my baby. Whether my baby has taken her first breath or not, she's alive and has a world of possibilities before her. Plus, think about if a woman who goes in for an abortion has children later on? How will her kids feel knowing that a) they have dead siblings out there and b) the possibility of they themselves being aborted was not very low. I've met kids in this situation, and it's terrible for them.
I think the only time when an abortion is justified is when the baby was going to die anyway or when both the mother and the baby would die (and possibly if just the mother was going to die, though I would still chose my child's life over my own. It's every woman's decision, I suppose).
