if you guys didnt know what Hitsugaya;s name means or looks like i n japanese... here it is!
日(hi):sun,A day
番(tsuga)(noun:tsuga-i,verb:tsuga-u):pair,couple
谷(ya)(tani):valley
冬(tou)(fuyu):winter
獅(shi)(shishi):lion
郎(rou):
im not japanese but i found this on the internet the other day.

Well, most of the meanings are the same.

However, I always knew it as:

Sun, order, valley
Hi - tsuga - ya

Winter, lion, suffix for boy's names
Tou - shi - rou

it's called Kanji... they are the chinese characters adopted by the japanese... and they mean the exact same thing in chinese that they mean in japanese...

i.e. the symbol for person ('re' in chinese and 'hito' in japanese) both represented by what looks like an upside down V

I know that but kanji is chinese letters and japanese is from chinese.
