Welcome To Silver's Horse & Riding Life.
Comments Are Welcome

Well, mostly in here, i'll talk about my horse life with Cookie and other riding ups and downs.

I've been riding for 2 1/2 years now, and its my life. I ride English and want to learn Dressage. I have a 7 year old Black & White Paint mare, named Cookie. smile

Enjoy...

Well, the search has begun. I've been searching on equine.com and someother websites for a horse. Me and my family are looking for a B&W Paint gelding, and we found a nice one. Cisco is his name and boy, he is beautiful. Here's some info on him:

Cisco
Gelding
7 Year Old
B&W Paint Tobiano
15.2 hh
Temperment: 3 (1-bombproof 10-HOT)
· Dressage - Prospect
· Trail Horse - Trained
· Western Pleasure - Prospect
· English Pleasure - Prospect
· Youth/4-H Horse - Trained
Some good and "eh" qualitlies:
Sweet, Handsom, Stands while mounting, Sound, Nice gaits, good w/ dogs, Natural Horsemanship.Light Rein, Green, prospect, only trail horse.

He's a good horse and all, but he would really need to be trained ALOT. He would seem like a good nice horse for me, but the search will go on...

Today at my lesson I was expecting the usual, riding Doc, him trying to bit me everytime i do up the girth, Eh, the things i go through for a lesson with him. Last week we didn't do so good, we ducked out at alot of jumps and we were not in our perfect sync like always. But this week was alittle different, have listened to the words my aunt had said, when she came to watch me last week, I guided Doc over the jumps with no fuss. I was really happy, and throughout the lesson we dind't miss more than 3 jumps. blaugh It's really good to have someone who rides and family members who have horses in the past and know what their doing. I hope this coming weeks lesson will be just as good as the last.

Well, Today was the day that I get to go see another horse, Rascal. Sadly, he was going nuts in the feild and must have pulled something or, I don't know. We don't know if he is officially lame yet, I hopefully its not too bad, and I'll get to see him in a few weeks(Aww I have to wait! gonk ) We will just have to see.

Ok I finaly got to go see rascal, and heres alittle bit about him:
Horse #2
Rascal
Gelding
7 Years Old
Solid Black Paint
15.3hh
Temperment:5
Disciplines (suitable or trained)
Dressage

Really, me, and my family do think he is alittle to much for a novice rider like me, he was being bratty when we saw him xp . But very, very pretty. But the search will go on...

Today, well not today, but on sunday, because today is Friday, ok, getting to the point...I have my 4th fall. Tada! and it was on good old 17 year old, 15.3 Doc, my best buddy. Cantering to the right he starts to buck, thats what happend and I lost my balance and fell of the left side of his neck, into the wall...again... gonk but he would never do it on purpose, I think it may be the weather or the new suppliments he's on. (he's 17, a growing boy needs his suppliments) Yeah, I've fallen of 4 times on 4 different horses, I wonder who i'll fall of next. xd

Ok, today is the first lesson I have had in two weeks...at my new barn. I was really nervous at first when I got there, It's a very nice place called, Ceder Brook Equestrian Center. I rode this nice little(well 15.1hh) Appaloosa named, Jupiter, he was fun. Now since at my other banr I wasn't "properly" being trained I got the lesson of my life, lots of work, getting the correct foot/leg placement, it...was...Great! I loved it, and this place, nice big ring, friendly people, and great horses. I did't care if my muscles hurt or I couldn't really walk straight, I had so uch fun, and i'm ready for next week.

Today is the day I go see, "Witch Won" the 4 year old 15.3 brown and white Paint. He was such a sweet boy, very responsive and seems to have a good personalitly.Pretty mature for a 4 year old. I rode him, he's nice, has a steady semi-fast trot. Great feet! never worn shoes. My mom and my aunt really think he would be a good first horse for me. Well, it's my decision...and I haven't decided yet. sweatdrop whee

Well, Cookie is doing well at my aunts house, I can't wait till she comes to her final home, my house. Today we started her on the Parelli Training System, she seems to know some of it, she has been trained in some kind of natural horsemanship, the Tellington TTouch. I think this will be good for both me and her. smile
