Picard is a cool name, Piers is not. A cool guy has to have a cool name or it just don't work out.

I think Piers is much cooler than Picard. Picard sounds like some more sophisticated, old and moldy name. Piers seems more modern, active and cool.

I personally think that Piers is a silly name. Picard has somewhat of a dignified ring to it.

I agree on that 3nodding However... being a Lemurian, a group that by nature is "old and moldy"... wouldn't his parents name him accordingly? confused I doubt they anticipated he'd be a rebel against his culture....

I mean, Piers? As in "a pier?" That's just lame, especially for a Water Adept. xp

I didn't even think about it that way until I thought about it. To me it sounded more like "Peers" as in your friends. So to me it doesn't sound that "silly." I think whatever name you heard used first, that's the one you will stick with and will always enjoy more than the rest. Could we just drop the subject?

Piers sounds like the name of some snobbish rich guy, sitting in a chair drinking wine and looking down his nose at the rest of the world. Whereas, the name Picard sounds like a person you could be friends with.

Stop thinking about planks! Think about the new kid in school. "Hey, what's your name?" "My name's Peers" You don't know how it's spelled! That's why you ask "How do you spell your name?" Then you say "Hey, it's spelled like a pier on the water!" and he's like "...Yeah...so?"
