Shots today. Well nothing he couldn't handle. Though he'd heard a few interesting stories from Madeline on accaision about this particular position. Well, any animal that tried that would be learning that this teacher was as stubborn as the others. No tantrum was getting them out of it. If anything, it would make the whole affair a lot less pleasant in the long run.
A brief glance was given to the appointment sheet on the wall as he prepared to set up the shots. White Asian Elephant. Shouldn't be too much trouble. A few seconds later the tray was arranged neatly with the required vaccinations.
Now to wait the two minutes until the declared time of the appointment.

So what was a vaccination? JD was surprisingly tightlipped about it, and Narayan hadn't learned enough words to understand the word. He had vague ideas about doctors and vets... but anything more was out of his reach. Besides-- the man had promises him a book. A new sketchpad if he went through this quietly.
Which was why the boy was so supicious.
Following his father as the man knocked on the door, Narayan tried to figure it out.
What was a vaccination? And what kind of scary monster was it for JD to be so quiet?
"Excuse me... I'm here with my son for an appointment?"

Right on time. Promptness was certainly a good thing. A second later the red-head opened the door for the pair. "Welcome, please have him sit on the table over there and we can get started." It wasn't as sugar coated as most people would have sounded while saying such a thing. If anything it lacked emotion. Which made part of the statement moot, but alas.
Once the pair were in the room he closed the door and indicated a chair off to the side for the parent with the wave of his hand. It wouldn't take too long, but having someone lurking behind him wasn't something the man would put up with.

As JD helped Narayan onto the table first, he weighed his decision. s. Was it better to tell Narayan, give him a chance to prepare himself? Or was this, the surprise attack the good one? Deciding that sure it was better not knowing then knowing (the extra anxiety wasn't good for you, was it?) he stuck to his original decision.
"Narayan, remember the promise."
The boy still didn't get it. Looking around at the table, and then at the little tray, he frowned.
WAITAGODDAMNMINUTE.
"Dad." he started.
JD moved to sit down. Well. It was too late now.
"Is this going to hurt? What is that? Its going to hurt, isn't it? Thats why da didn't say anything! ... Are you going to do something to me?"

With that being taken care of Haruki had gone to pick up the tray after putting the last few needed objects on it. Cottomballs, a bandaid, and of course anti-bacteria for steralizing the area. They were doing this to protect the children, not get them sick.
It was when he turned at the first set of issues came. Apparently the child didn't know what all was coming. Wasn't it lovely when parents forgot to warn them and it became your problem to deal with. Alas, he had a schedule to keep and this needed to be done.
Not that he'd throw sugar coated words at the child to calm him. "It's for your own protection, these will protect you from illnesses that could prove dangerous to your health in the future." In other words, hush up and be good. You aren't getting out of it.

Narayans eyes narrowed. For his own protection, was it? The way he wasn't allowed to watch Tv in the middle of the night, cross the main road with his eyes closed or run after a car? Huh.
Yeah right.
"Well, what do I get out of it?"
"Narayan!"
Narayan shut up, his expression sulky. Whaaaat? JD had promised him something. But this man hadn't. "Sorry."

The man didn't seem phased in the least by the child's actions. He simply began to prepare a cotton swab to clean up the area, lifting an eyebrow as the request for something. "The knowledge of your own safety." He simply replied before catching the child's arm to clean up the spot.
What else had the report said about the child... "As well, few people would wish to be near someone who was sickly. Certainly not a lady. They wouldn't want to become ill. In short, they would avoid you." That should work to keep the child quiet. And if nohing else he could use the 'you get a colorful bandaid' thing that so many adults tried to pretend was a big deal.
It didn't matter much in the long run, he was getting his shots. Plain and simple. With that in mind he picked up the first needle.

Safety? Bah. What adults considered to be for your safety and what he thought was for his own safety seemed to be entirely different things. He should know-- it had panned out like that a couple of times already. Still.
"Lady? Like...models?" Narayan looked slightly troubled. Well, if they didn't want to be near him that meant that he wouldn't be able to paint them! And then... then...
Oh, no. That was NOT allowed to happen.
Staring at the needle, the boy didn't get it. Cute. Was it like a really skinny.... oooooh. He knew what THAT was. At least, he knew it was't good!
His nose twitched in alarm.

Haruki chose not to elaborate further on the subject when clarification was request. He also felt it in his best interest to stop waiting on the child's 'approval.' It's not as if he needed, and few children would happily submit to getting a shot to begin with.
Taking hold of the child's arm he frowned slightly. It was a good thing he knew what he was doing, certainly D-Corp wouldn't hire someone to do a job they couldn't, because giving shots to these kids certainly wasn't like giving them to a normal child. Still, it only took a moment before he slipped the needly in carefully to give the boy the first of the shots. Red eye's turn up slightly to look at the kid.

WHAT WAS THAT?! Yes, he understand needles and arms and pain. But it wasn't good. Narayan was often boring enough that he never needed to expand his threshold of pain-- the most he did was stub his toe against the door, or fall over. None of the crazy acrobatic things.
Deciding that this must be the worst thing in the world after magazine banning, a somewhat girly squeak escaped his mouth.
Sulky eyes looked back down at the red eyes. See? He could take it! Like a man. A big, strong elephant man thing.

Children made such a big deal out of the littlest things. Honestly. What was so bad about getting a shot? The entire concept of being afraid of it escaped him. It was a near painless p***k and you where done. There were far worse things in life than a little sting for a brief moment in time.
Then again, one had to admit that most people hadn't seen those things at this age. Still, eventually it would all clear up in his head. That this was something little and life had much worse in store for him. Eventually.
One shot down. Time for the second. He slipped the first one onto the far side of the tray and caught the second before slipping it into the boy's arm. At least he wasn't putting up a fight. So long as it went like this he'd be done rather quickly.
And it would only really hurt if he jerked the arm around, which was part of why he was making sure to hold it in place.

The man was fast. And it hurt. And you know, he was big now. Going to get bigger. What was the point of these shots? Deciding that everything was starting to work against this moment and that... heck. This was unnatural, the boy scowled.
The needle was the bad guy here-- except he was too frightened to move and fight against it. Yeah. At least it wasn't big. Huge. He'd seen comics with gigantic needles and oh it was coming closer and how come this man wasn't cooing and making a fuss?
You know, he liked the nurses on TV better. They smelled better and looked nicer.
Staring at the needle and the process, Narayan was silent. He'd lost his voice, to complain.

Haruki would have been less than amused if he'd known he was being compared to television. Something he considered to be a complete waste of time. The commercials alone were enough to justify the opinion in his head. Which was why there was never going to be cable tv in the house.
Thankfully for Narayan, he didn't know, or finishing the shots might have taken a moment or two longer. Still, with the child sitting still it didn't take too long for the last few shots to be dealt with and a bandaid on the boy's arm to cover area. Hopefully the boy liked green, because that was the color he got. In other words that one had been on top. "All done." No question of if it had hurt, or not. That sort of thing was more Madeline's thing.
"You may go now." That said, he turned and took the tray to start cleaning up the area.
((You can reply once about leaving and assume this is done after you do.))
