I still dont know what a meatpie is...
Of dishes that my family make during the holidays, it would have to be my moms apricot glazed chicken.

it's fun to read what people eat in their holydays. my favourite holyday dish is codfish cooked in the hoven with some type of vegetables that i don't remember right now. i also love something my uncle once made which is meat loaf stuffed with ham and cheese sort of like cordon bleau but in the hoven not in the frying pan *drulls to remember the meat loaf* although it's not a holyday dish, my family has the tradition of cooking curry every christmas and those who don't love curry (and didn't fall of a huge nut tree my aunts have in their garden) don't belong to the family. "luckily" i have both, despite the second one not being (obviously) as pleasant. people here always cook turkeys for christmas but it's not a dish i appreciate. as far as desserts go, portugal doesn't have many typical desserts or at least not holydal typical desserts, but i do love pineapple mousse, chocolate mousse, cheesecake and something done with cream, caramel and nuts that we call camel's drull which is wonderfull although the name sounds disguting. cheers
