They hate their own band because of all the egos. Also because almost each member has a side project their working on which means that ideas and methods tend to clash. Because no one in SlipKnoT ever expected the band to go anywhere. In 1996 the jam band known as "SlipKnoT" was completed with the addition of Taylor and Root. Then in 1997 they released Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat, the album didn't sell and most of the original members left the band. Right then and there was pretty much kick in the pants saying that the band known as SlipKnoT is not really an actual band but rather an experiment (metaphorically speaking).
