The Clans have been notified that one of Gambino's workers has gone missing. While this is not uncommon, as the poorer residents of Gambino face dangers in their everyday lives, this particular worker's influential and rich aunt is concerned. She believes that Gambino may be involved in some foul play. One of the Clans immediately chose to investigate.

Summarry: Minor battles vs. NPCs, some stealth, possible interrogation
Points: Around 10
Clan: Life Clan

Not that the Life clan needed any money, but hey, if the getting was good...

...alright, so they were alittle short on funds. Atleast they didn't throw what little money they had around like those damn spoiled brats in the Sky Clan. Heh, he chuckled to himself....they weren't all bad; infact his closest friend was a Sky, he just like to tease her about how lucky she had been growing up. It was often cause for much banter and throwing of puffed-cheese products, and he wouldn't give those moments for anything in the world.

Back to the matter at hand, this 'Rich Aunt'. However he would not be able to take down the facts and help the investigation until the others arrived.

Lumitae walked towards the building where they had been told to meet, his followers in procession behind him. He was awake and alert now, knowing that they weren't at home anymore and anything could happen. Technically, they weren't even in Barton anymore, since this was Gambino now. The slums here were typical, but they had progressed out of them into a richer section to meet up with the aunt of the missing worker. He normally wouldn't have agreed to help her, but the man who had become missing was on his mind, not her. Reaching her house, he knocked briskly on the door, hoping to obtain all of the information they would need for their mission.

Xander stopped at the gate, watching from there as his leader approached and knocked on the door. He didn't know what the procedure was, and he didn't want to make a mockery of the clan in front of a client.

Sighing, he decided to follow the lead of the other members.

Eradiel stood attentively, waiting for Lumitae to take the lead.

Kharan entered behind Eradiel. As was her tendancy, she began to take in everything around her, from looking around the building to her teammates. Taking out the pomegranite she'd been eating, she plucked out another seed, waiting for Lumitae's directions.

{Old lady color!}

"Oh dear," The old woman said to her self, as she tottered to the aging screen door. The paint was chipped, and the wood splintered in areas. "all these people for my dear little nephew...."

She opened the door slowly pearing through the newly made crack. All of them seemed very capeable, if not some more than others. Opening the door all the way, the inside of the house could be seen. Done in the stately manor of old world chic, everything was dark woods and earth tones. Faded monochrome photographs {and so many! the novelty of this technology had made the prices almost obcene} appeared periodicly above a lazy staircase, it's banister not ornate, but hardly mundane. Infact, nothing in the estate was mundane; the sense of age in the place was such that every item, no matter how insignificant, had a long and complex story as to how it got there. The photos would tell of those that stood within their frames, obviously, but the various ceramic statuettes and minitaures held something else, each thier own self-contained coversational piece.

"Well, if y'all are here about the add, make yourselves comfortable. I'll be along in a minute with some refreshments..."

With that, the woman dissapeared into the kitchen, situated in the back of the house.

He nodded to the old woman, following her into the first room, but letting her proceed to the kitchen. "Thank you. We'll wait patiently for you." He glanced back at the others who were still outside. "Well then, let's have a seat while we wait." He smiled lightly, and began his search for a chair where he would wait for the woman to return and tell them what was going on.

Cali crept slowly along, lingering behind their brave and faithful leader. She, however, chose not to sit, as it would make for a slower retreat should it be needed... The first thing she did upon entering was to look about the place, taking in all the fine furniture and photographs. While her family wasn't what you would call poor, they weren't horribly rich, either and so chose not to waste their hard-earned money on these- these, pictures. The photographs intrigued her, if for no other reason than they, in a single moment in time, told the story of the person within them. Fascinating.

((bleh, crap post, but hey, it's up))

Eradiel also chose to not sit, rather he took up a place behind Lumitae's chair next to Cali. While it wasn't that much of a problem to be in a battle ready position from a chair, and the old lady was obviously no threat, the swordsman was hardly the leisurely type... at least not while on Clan business.

Looking down towards Cali he made a mental note of her not taking a seat either. This meant she was either very anxious, or very prepared. This was possibly something to pay attention to, as he had no idea why his lord would bring the frail girl along.

Xander looked around nervously, trailing cautiously behind Eradiel. He somehow felt that it would be inappropriate for him to be the only one sitting, aside from the clan master, so he also stood. He somehow felt that he wouldn't be able to keep still if he was seated, anyway.

He wasn't even sure what the job was, but he figured that it would probably pay well, given the decorum of the house. He had grown used to barely surviving in a hovel, and to be surrounded in such rich decoration filled him with a suffocating feeling. In an attempt to look professional, he stood with his hands clasped in front of him. He failed in this attempt, as his feet were too close together to give him decent support, causing him to sway slightly.

The old woman returned, carrying a silver tray upon which were placed small finger sandiwches were arranged. They were cucumber on little wheat slices of bread, with just the lightest hint of celery salt, each sandiwch sat upon it's own seemingly hand-made lace doily. Behind the old woman trailed a dark skinned servant girl, holding a tray of deep-toned wood, with a silver pitcher full of iced tea. Ice, they had barely perfected the non-magical creation method, and they used it here as though it was always availible this way. They both set the items before the men, and stepped back so that their visitors could partake. The servant girl went back into the kitchen.

"Well, Gentlemen," the old woman said "I understand you've taken an intrest in my Nephew..."

Kharan sighed. This old woman was tiring even by her standards. As such, she made no attempt to hold back the sarcasm strugging to get out.

"No, we're actually here to inquire about that *lovely* painting up there that looks as if a four year old drew it."

Cali peered to Kharan a moment before slowly creeping up to the platter of food and slipping her nimble fingers around a miniature sandwich, and quickly scurrying off behind Lumitae once more. Once there (feeling slightly more safe) she began to pick at the bread, pulling off little bits and rolling them into balls. After she'd finished with the top piece, she quietly munched on the cucumbers until all she had remaining in her palm was a triangular piece of wheat bread and some bread balls.

Xander fidgeted uncomfortably as Kharan's minor outburst hit his ears. He resisted the urge to stare in shock at the seer. This was a customer! While he did consider Kharan's assessment of the picture to be rather generous, he would never dare risk alienating the Life Clan from one in need as such.

To keep himself preoccupied, he dropped his gaze to the snacks that the woman had brought out. He watched as Cali stole one of the sandwiches as though they weren't meant for her. They looked good, but he didn't think he could stomach any food at the moment. And so, he opted to remain silent.
