Why does everyone forget about FFIX? Personally it is my favorite. I loved the storyline, the characters, the world, and everything about it. The graphics were beautiful for the time, and everything just looked gorgeous. The characters were all so real, and the way each one developed as a person through the game was amazing. I loved the game, and I don't understand why it is always forgotten and why people don't appreciate it. confused

I agree. IX is also one of my favorites. I even like it more than VII, somehow deemed 'best FF game.' Everything in IX was great. The summons, the characters....why is FFIX underappreciated? I wouldn't know, but it doesn't make sense to me... confused
-FFIX even has my favorite (and in my opinion the best) villian - Kuja

Maybe cause it was like the last of the PS1 Final fantasy and no one wanted to get it.....I want to get it though.

It's my favorite! I had to like it; I had to go through all the way to [Memoria] about four times before I finally beat it because my memory card is horrible and vindictive.
Altogether, the story was great, the characters were great, the minigames were great, the world was great, and the battle system was great, even though [Necron] was a bit random.
Also, Kuja is indeed awesome.

Quote: Maybe cause it was like the last of the PS1 Final fantasy and no one wanted to get it.....I want to get it though. you're probably right. it was the last ff game for the ps1, and om top of that, it came out in ffx's shadow. it's too bad the timing had to be off, because it would have been really succesful otherwise. i think people are really missing out on a great experience. domokun

Yeah, Final Fantasy 9 doesn't get much love, but I really enjoyed it and the game happens to be one of my favorites, right next Final Fantasy 7. 3nodding

For the longest time I wondered why I hated FFIX... it took years for me to figure it out but I did.
I blame Quina and Necron. Quina persisted in breaking the mood of the storyline whereever she was present. She was a completely unneeded part of the game and what was needed of her could've been replaced by a multitude of things that could've been far more interesting.
and Necron.... well.. I know I'm not the only one who was pissed when Kuja wasn't the final boss. You go through the storyline and defeat the main bad guy and then... there's this other guy... who came out of no where ... has no story... and you just stand up and fight him... and that's it... ok.. done... back to normal now.... what a great game................. (wtf?)
Exactly my point.
That's what I've decided on. The game had so many things going for it and because of a few very present unneeded things it just didn't have the effect it should've.
