The Hot Springs are a very popular place to relax. It’s used as a place to soak away the stresses of everyday life. It’s also used by the 4th Squad to help some people recover. The minerals in the spring are good for many things, as is the heat. Also, the small cold water pools are a great place for Physical Therapy.

Gael was no stranger to the Hot Springs. In fact, it was her favorite spot in all of Soul Society. She slipped her basket of items into a cubby and grabbed a towel, heading for the rinse area. She dumped the bucket of water over her head to rinse herself off, much like one does before entering a swimming pool. She then proceeded to the actual spring.
The steam was inviting, the way it danced up to greet her in the otherwise cool autumn air. She slipped down into the water until it rose to her collarbone. She rested her arms out beside her on the stone wall her back was too. Soon she rested her head back as well. Slowly she took in a deep breath, the heat refreshing.
God... what am I doing? How will I search for my family? I mean... I can't just... with Ty around... Surely I'd be thought foolish for even trying. After all, everyone else thinks that. The only one who still believes that they're even alive is Kagerou...I'll have to wait. When he's not around...
She splashed a bit of the water onto her face, then rubbed it out of her eyes.
It'll be fine. I can do this. The time off will be good for Ty. And somehow, I'll manage to still search. Why am I so worried about it anyway? If he laughs at me, he laughs at me.
It felt like a rock fell into her stomach. Her last sentence made her frown. She didn't want him to think her foolish. Why should she care so much? Soon she'd have Michio back. Then nothing else would matter...
Michio... Sanyu... I'm going to find you both. Then you can come home... back to Soul Society...

There was the soft sound of beeping... Gael ignored it. There was something more important, behind her. She could feel it... Slowly she turned, her eyes focusing solidly on the figure that stood there. It was the only other thing here in the darkness she was surrounded by. She reached forward.
"Michio..." she whispered lightly, stepping closer. He smiled, his arms outstretched to her.
She fell into his arms, the distance between them closing as if by magic. She buried her face into his shoulder, clutching his shirt. He leaned his head softly into her hair...
Wounds sprang open with terrible pain. Gael gasped, wanting to pull back to see what happened. He wouldn't let her go. She managed to bring her arms into sight. Her hands were trembling as she stared at the old wounds that ran up and down her arms in jagged lines. They were wounds that long since had turned to scars. How...
Michio pulled her closer, whispered something into her ear... She didn't hear what he said, his voice wasn't there. And yet, she seemed to understand, like a vivid image in her head. She struggled to get free.
And then there was only dark.
Gael woke up in shock, flinging water out of the spring with the force. Her breathing was uneasy and took a long while to calm. She was shivering despite the heat of the spring. Nightmares... she got them often, but they were normally different. Gael grasped at her arms, checking her scars carefully. They were still there, still scars... pale moonlight white skin streaking jagged lines across her golden skin. She pressed her face into her hands until the nightmare passed over her.
"Falling asleep in the Hot Spring is not a good idea, Gael. You could drown." She scolded herself out loud, if only for the comfort of her own voice. With that she pulled herself out of the water and grasped for her towel and clothes. She had the strangest feeling that falling back asleep was not going to be an easy task.

Bainin rarely visited the hot springs and when he did it was just to clear his head. Although on this particular day the reason was beyond him, he thought it was something to do with relaxing, or just for fun which was unusual for him. Bainin never 'Actually" went into the water, usually he just put a towel around his waist and sat on one of the benches breathing in the steam.
He grabed a towel and put it around his waist then headed into the spring room. Slowly he walked towards the bench being careful not to slip on the ground and cut something or suffer a concusion and have to go to the fourth squad building. Finally he reached the bench and sat back resting his back on the wall. It felt refreshing and relaxing at the same time. Inhaling deeply he rested his head against the wall and closed his eyes.

dark shapes flew from every direction. The only sound to be heard was the bellowing of Hollows as they jumped, crawled, and leaped towards Bainin. He reached for his zampakato. His hand found empty air. WHAT? WHERE?...Where's my zampakato?. The hollows were almost on him he could see the shine of the lead ones claws. The claws drew back and...
Bainin woke with a start inside the hot springs. Sweat dripped from his neck and face. As quick as he could he jumped up and fetched his robes. He got dressed as fast as he could and headed for a quiet area.
