This is one of few operational gates in Soul Society. It’s a simple archway that serves as a portal to and from the Mortal World. It’s normally in an OFF status. This required the user to simply turn it ON before using it. It turns off automatically after a time period as a safety measure. Also, some technology becomes disabled as it passes through the gate, rendering it useless in the Mortal Realm.

Gael approached the gates slowly, staring up at the sun to feel it's early afternoon rays on her face. She was glad it was daytime. The gate was, of course, turned off for safety measures. She didn't bother turning it on yet. Not until Ty got here. She leaned up against the inactive frame of the gate to wait for him, her eyes closed with her face pointed up at the sunny sky.

After a fitfull nightmare filled night Ty finally got out of the house and checked the time, It was a bit late of him so he decided to move quickly, He flash stepped aalong till the gate was in sight and once it was he went even faster till he was there, Gael had beaten him anyways. He smiled at her quickly and looked into the gate. "Rough night?"

Gael blinked, then smiled innocently. "What would make you ask that?" She asked lightly, avoiding his question. She moved to turn on the gate with her usual grace, her fingers playing across a control panel that was mounted on the side. "It'll take a second for the gate to charge up." She said simply, pushing the last few keys on the panel so that the gate began to hum with energy.

He smiled at her. "Well my night was tough just wondering if yours was to." He had a bit of sarcasim in his voice to mask how bad he felt, Now his head was starting to hurt.

Gael rubbed her arm idly, remembering the nightmare she had suffered last night. For a second, her face was oddly blank. She tried to shake it off as quickly as she could, her hand jumping away from her arm as if it had been burned. She turned away from Ty to look at the gate.

You too, huh...

"My night... was fine." She lied. It was painful. She turned to smile at him as if to prove it.

His eyes almost rolled he stopped them, He didnt like when she lied to him, He could tell from that blank moment but he let her get away with it. "Sounds nice"

She continued to smile, but was horribly quiet. She turned back to the gate, watching it fizzle into existance. "It's almost ready." She said simply, turning back to him. The energy in the gate became more solid. She smiled back at Ty as it finished forming. "We can leave now."

His smile was gone again, He looked into the portal then at her. "Ladies first." He knew they both hated that term.

Gael flinched mildly, but said nothing. She forced her smile not to falter as she merely followed the phrase and stepped gracefully through the gate.
