Not much to say here. This would be all of the streets of the city. In other words, where you’d get lost.

Gael stepped down from the gate lightly, her feet noiseless against the paved street. First thing is first... I'm going to need a new gigai... Her eyes scanned the streets silently. Which means... I have to find the Urahara Shop. She tucked her hair behind her ear and this time it did not fall back, due to the lack of wind here. She turned effortlessly back to the gate and watched for Ty to come through.

Ty never did get the hang of portals and this was one of those days so instead of a graceful exit like Gael he fell out rather ungracefully barely catching himself as he fell. He looked about to see who saw even if he was invisible to these people, When he saw Gael there with her always elogant stare he smiled and stood up straight as if nothing had happened.

She smiled lightly, restraining a laugh to be polite. She went to offer him a hand, but he stood quickly and on his own. She withdrew the hand gently and waited for him to right himself.
"Well, I suppose the first order of business would be to get gigai. My old one got pretty beat up the last time I was here... so I need to go to the Urahara Shop to pick up a new one. What about you?"

He thought about it a moment and knew he had to get one himself, "I'll come along to see if they got any new models." Urahara's shop though no longer in his control always had something new. A gigai could have a kidou gun arm for all he knew and he would end up walking out with it accidently firing off a shot in a crowd, He'd just have to ask about them first.

"Good. You can lead the way, then. I'm not sure if it's left right left or right left right..." She laughed lightly. "I'm determined to get lost at some point in this trip and I'd rather not start so early."

He smiled and started walking off towards the shop looking back for just a second. "As long as you follow me you wont be lost." He turned back and continued walking silently begging her to follow.

((Note: This and the last Sanyu post aren’t following Gael’s timeline… these take place BEFORE Gael and Ty show up in the Mortal Realm. They are just here to show her “everyday” life before I bring her into “real time”. The next few posts will probably be the same. You’ll know when I bring her into the proper timeline.))
“Ja Ne!” Sanyu called through to the bartender with a wave. The bartender stopped long enough to wave back before returning to work. Sanyu headed into the back, all too ready to head home. She was set on getting something quick for “breakfast”, and taking a nap.
It was dark outside, but the sky was lightening up at least. She broke out of the alleyway the back entrance was in and onto the main streets. A few cars passed, but not enough to really care about. She crossed the street, heading towards her house. That was when she saw it. She almost stopped dead in the middle of the street. However, her feet kept walking even as she stared.
It lifted it’s white mask into the air and roared. Slowly it turned, like it was sniffing. Sniffing for spirits. Sanyu frowned, stopping on the sidewalk to stare. She didn’t know what they were. All she knew is that they caused terrible things to happen and ate souls. She had never gotten close enough to one to really investigate. They just… reeked. She didn’t know any other word to describe it. They felt like… a shiver down the side and the face you get when you smell something terrible. Like, really terrible. It felt like they smelled. They didn’t actually smell. It was like her “parents” didn’t feel like her parents. Just a feeling.
This one stank a lot. Or maybe it just felt like it stank a lot because of how close she was. It was still sniffing the air, like a dog. It turned it’s painted face around… to face Sanyu standing on the otherwise empty sidewalk. Out of instinct, Sanyu struck a fighting pose. Her foot slid back, one arm coming over to cover her chest while the other was prepared for a punch. Typical martial arts pose.
Then it stepped closer.
Not ready.
Something clicked in her head. A feeling that told her to run. She couldn’t fight this thing. It would only kill her. But why? Why had it looked at her? She had seen plenty of these things before. They’d always looked right through her. They only ate the spirits of the dead, right? Last she checked, she wasn’t dead.
And just like that Sanyu turned and ran. Her legs ached, they didn’t want to cooperate. They felt stiff at the knees. A knotted feeling in her stomach told her that it meant something. Something that had to do with the thing chasing her. The same something caused her fists to tighten until she could feel the blood around her fingernails. She felt like her hands were bare. Missing something. Something important. She quietly reminded herself to clip her nails. Her skin tingled. What was this? Every shiver in her body wanted her to fight. So which was it? Was she supposed to fight or run?
Not ready. Not yet.
Run. Keep running.
No. Running wasn’t in her nature. She could feel herself fighting against it. Her body was fighting it, the energy shivering across her skin was fighting it…
Not now! Not yet!
She turned fast, throwing her feet out into a steady stance as she slid backwards on the sidewalk. She’d worry about killing her shoes if she hadn’t been wearing army boots. She didn’t know what she was doing, she just did it. Her hands thrust outwards like she was going to hit it with the heel of her hand.
The energy that had pulsed across her skin flew down her arms like a solid force and pushed itself out through her palms. Whatever it was, it felt like falling head first into darkness. And hitting the ground very, very hard.
She had stopped skidding at the edge of the sidewalk, the back ends of her heels hanging off the edge and over the street. The energy from her skin was gone. It felt like a lot of her energy was gone. She hit the ground roughly, ending up on her hands and knees on the concrete. She was panting, sweating. Her whole body ached. Tired… really tired… Dizzy. Light headed. Breathe… just breathe…
The voice that echoed in her head before was quiet. She couldn’t find it now. Also, the Hollow was nowhere to be seen. Dissolved, into air. She smiled roughly.
“Stupid voice.” She muttered. “I was born ready…”
And then she collapsed.

The sunlight was still bright overhead, though it was obvious that it was on its way down. Gael didn't have a watch, but she could assume that it was 1:00 to 1:30 in the afternoon.
It wasn't hard to get lost in a place like this. As far as Gael was concerned, they were lost as soon as they lost sight of the Urahara Shop. She just had to keep her eyes open for a bank and a hotel, right?

They had only gone about half a block when he noticed Gael walk right past the Bank, He covered his face with one hand keeping back a laugh and tapped her shoulder pointing it out. "You might wanna focus a little less, you over do it and you miss the little things."

Gael stopped and looked at him in confusion at first. Then, when she noticed the bank he was pointing out, she laughed.
"Maybe it's not my sense of direction that's bad after all! I went the right way... I just missed it!"
She flashed him a smile before heading into the bank, still wondering how she was going to pull this off.
"Hi! I'm here to check on the status of an account..."

Through the window, Gael could clearly be seen at the desk. There was lots of laughing going on between both Gael and the woman helping her.
"No way. You can't be that old!"
Nervous laughter. "When you go on like that, I begin to feel it!"
"Oh, I didn't mean it like that, really..."
"No, no... quite all right!"
More nervous laughter... Yeah, this was awkward.
"Okay! Well, here's your balance..."
The slip of paper was handed over to Gael, who glanced down at it quickly. And then looked back down at it, only a little longer this time.
"Oh. Wow... That uh... Really does build with time, doesn't it?"
More nervous laughter.
"Well uh... I'd like to withdraw..."
When Gael walked out, she was silent for a moment.
"18 years of interest... Adds up..."
She handed the slip with her balance over for Ty to see and said no more.

He looked at the sheet and then stared at her for a while then back at the sheet and back at her. "You never told me you were a veritable millionaire... But maybe I would be one to if I werent such an impulse spender." He smiled and looked down the street. Perhaps it was time to go shopping

Gael simply laughed and decided to say no more on the subject. She merely smiled and took a few steps ahead.
"Well, I guess it's time to get lost!"
