This isn't my problem but my friend's. I don't know all the details, but my friend, Minari-no-ii, her stepdad slammed the door on her arm, on purpose, and apparently she hasrun away from home for awhile. I'm scared for her. I want to talk to her, but I really have no clue what to do about it. I can't relate, because I've never had this problem. Any advice?

You could always suggest that she talk to a counselor at school. That way, you know she is getting help from someone who is trained to deal with that sort of thing. Then you won't have to worry about saying the wrong thing. You could even offer to go in with her if she is nervous. Other than that, you can just be there for her.

If she's a good friend of yours. --
All you'll need to do is be there. She might need a shoulder to cry on. Someone to help support her.
You don't always need to relate to help someone out. Just tell her what you think of her... honesty is the key.
If you really want to help, don't lie to her either.
The truth hurts.
But, I think you should be there for her.

I suggest telling her to talk to another adult and doing it fast, abuse rages out of control fast sadly I know it from experience.
After that just be there for her, she will more then likely need something solid in her life, you could be that.

If her dad does anything else to harm her, you need to tell someone else. But, until then, try and find out where she's run off to, and if she wants to run away again, just offer her a place to stay.
S'the best you can do, that and be there for her.~
