1.) Use proper grammar and Spelling
2.) No spamming and giving links off to other things. Unless it is relevant.
3.) Don't post pictures because thats why Ry created the Photo Album.
4.) Do not 'flame' other people. Be nice. Don't harass them because they don't sound cool to you. For all you know. They could be. Give 'em a chance.
Guide to not being a n00b:
Yes my dear fellow guild members, a guide on how NOT to be a n00b. No longer shall you feel embarrassed or enraged when more experienced guild members find fault in your uncertain ways at navigating our lovely world of gaia. Just a few simple rules to help you blend oh-so-much easier with us.
~let it be known to all that this is not directed at any one person in particular, just a helpful note to anyone who my be interested~
1. All caps and toggle are quite an annoyance. They make the readers of your post feel they are being yelled at when you use all caps, and dizzy when it's toggled.
2. Leaving a free line between actions and dialogs provide a better flow and easier understanding of the messages you are attempting to convey. Your thoughts will no longer come off rushed and compact with this method.
3. Now this one is VERY important. Spelling and grammar DO count. Without these key features those reading your posts will feel confused and lost. Many who read these kind of posts refuse to respond to them, for just of lack of understanding. Those who do respond spend precious time just to decipher the meaning of your post.
4. 1337. Yes it is cool if you understand it and can write in it, but others who cannot feel left out, and that is something we don't wish to do to other gaians in our community. Many don't mind it from time to time, but it's not recommended to do so at all times, not in the least. Also, toggling between 1337 and regular writing is also annoying at times. Ex: l33t and others like that.
5. It is understood when you are new and do not have much gold yet, but begging for gold to buy the most basic of items can be very annoying to other gaians. Many feel that if they worked hard to post and such to afford their own items in the beginning, that others should as well instead of begging other gaians. Now if you are questing for a rare item that is another story all together, but keep in mind that older gaians do not always wish to help newer gaians quest for near impossible items, for sheer fear that the new gaian may just dissapear from gaia after becoming easily bored, and that their charity may have all been for naught.
6. Try not to stretch the page horizontally, it's very annoying to others, but understood if it happens by accident.
7. When quoting one should try to keep the number of quotes to a few number so as not to stretch the page vertically. It's annoying to others because if they are not involved in that particular conversation, they must scroll for ages to find the response to the conversation that they are in.
8. Use OOC and RP correctly. ((this is ooc)), You can use others just make shure they are knowm that you are not Role playing. OOC is for people who do not want to Role play. So if you see somthing that looks different than somthing people are RPing with they are not and reply back like that.
