She travels on an uncharted path,
Following where the wind is blowing.
She can see the ghosts of her past,
Taking her where she is going.

Why have they led her to this field
This awful place of lost dreams?
Their evil purpose not yet revealed,
For here, nothing is what it seems.

They look cheerful as she comes near,
Their false joy tries to draw her in.
They then display her deepest fears,
That makes her see what was lost within.

She digs deep into the abyss of her mind,
And discovers the undeniable horror,
Of what this girl was never meant to find.
The fearful moment that completely tore her.

She now could remember the sorrowful face,
A long lost companion and friend.
Still unable to save him from that place
A fragile life that had come to an end.

Her friend was lost to crazed beasts,
The demons that ate him from within.
Left to spread his ashes to the east,
She now lost a battle she couldn’t win.

She tried to make him see the light
She tried with every fiber of her being
But she still lost the good fight.
This was the day she stopped believing

Her own soul was now lost to malevolence.
She had given up all of her hope.
An out-right act of her defiance.
She had turned to the demons to cope.

Could she now see their wickedness clearly?
What they had turned her into,
Or how they ripped away all she held dearly?
Could she see what she must do?

She left the all of her demons behind.
She started on a new, brighter path.
Her destiny was left for her to decide.
She forgot about the cruelties of her past.
