Kat yawned and peered out onto the roguelands. It seemed so empty, not like how the pridelands had been. So much life was there, Ai was there. She smiled, Ai was full of so much energy. The pridelands made her think if staying out here really was the best, or perhaps she should try to join them there.
Decisions decisions.
She flopped onto the ground, she had managed to catch herself a meal, and drin some water. She was just bored and wished for a friend by her side. She felt like ehr nervous behavior was fading a little bit each day. Which was good. She would rather make friends then be alone.

Ekene ran around trying desperatly to enjoy himself. He was used to being alone but today he found himself sick and tired of it. He wondered why he didn't have friends....was it because of his looks? His eyes widened and he ran over to a very small murky puddle. He could see nothing in it really. "Pfft, what am I doing? What do I care what people think about me?" he asked himself proudly.

Kat heard something, she peered over her shoulder with hazel hues to see a male not too far away. She whipped around and crouched down, shaking slightly, being her nervous self. But she stopped herself, she was being silly. She couldn't always judge everyone all the time, that would be rude.
She raised herself from the ground and padded over to him slowly, a smile upon her maw, "H-hello..." she said softly, almost silently. She swished her tail once before continuing, "How're you? yous looking for something, in it?" she asked, pointing to the puddle with her paw.

Ekene jumped. He felt embarrassed after looking in the puddle so foolishly. He smiled a bit.
"Nah...I was just...uh...seeing if it was ok to drink. But I think we can both see that it's not." He said in his deep rumbling voice. He eyed her with his large golden eyes wondering what she was doing alone. He hoped she didn't have some huge mate somewhere waiting to attack Ekene for talking to the female. He turned his head to look around himself.

Kat peered towards the puddle and then up at him, "No, but if you're thirsty, I c-could show you the one I was just at," she said with a slight nod. "I'm s-sorry I'm a bit nervous..." she was embarrassed about it. Why couldn't she get over it darn it?!
She watched him look around, perhaps he was looking for someone else, and not her? Or was he looking for something else besides water? Hmmm.

Ekene looked confused. Maybe he did look scary...maybe that's why she was so nervous. His head drooped slightly to the ground. "That'd be nice...if you're scared of me, you don't have to be around me though." he said turning to go. Deep down he didn't care what others thought but at the moment it seemed to be getting to him more than ever. He had never thought himself ugly before but now...things were different.

Kat's eyes widened and her ears fell back in sadness, "No no you misunderstand!" she said padding up to him, and padding in front of him to have him not walk away from her. "Its just that... I'm just nervous around others because...its been so long since I've been around others...does that make sense? She hoped it did, she didn't want him mad at her for being nervous.
Darn her nervousness!

He smiled now. "Oh...sorry. You don't have to be nervous around me...I...won't hurt you....I promise." he said hoping to cheer her up a bit. He hadn't been around others in quite a while either so he knew what it felt like to be so alone. He wondered why he had never been nervous except in dangerous situations. "What's your name?" he asked gently.

She smiled now, now he at least knew why she had been nervous, and he didn't seem to be angry. Plus, he said he wouldn't hurt her, which was another plus. "My name's Katana'Kitsune...you may call me Kat if you'd like," she always wondered why she added the second part of her name, but then again, she knew, and she would never take it away. "May I ask for your name?"

"Yea, i'm Ekene...it's nice to meet you Kat....you have a very nice name." he said with a small smile. "Are you headed anywhere special?" he asked kindly hoping he wasn't being too curious. He yawned with a slight roar then focused on her. The heat was making him sleepy and everytime he moved and felt the ground under his large paws he felt more and more thirtsy.

Kat thought for a moment, then shook her head, "No, not really, just, thinking on some things," she peered towards the sky, noticed the sun was high. "Want to go get some water Ekene? I promise, its not far from here I swear," she said with a nod and a smile. She took a few paw steps forward, then waited for him.
Ekene seemed quite nice.

"That'd be nice if you don't mind sharing with me!" he said glad that she had offered. His mouth felt like there was cotton in it and his throat hurt badly because it was so dry. He knew he would owe her after she helped him and he wondered if he could maybe catch her something large to eat? All he had really ever managed were small things.

"Of course, its no trouble at all Ekene, its this way," she smiled and turned and started walking slowly in one direction. This water was cold and clear, so nice. You could even see the tiny stones at the bottom. As she got closer she ran up to it, then sat at the edge it it. It was probably five or six feet across,, but rather deep, and cold. She hoped he liked it.

He stared at it and couldn't help himself. He ran into it happily and rolled on his back in the shallow part. Then he drank as much as he could. He stayed in a bit longer trying not to splash Kat. "This feels so nice, come on in! It's perfect for a hot day like this!" he said to her with a smile. He drank some more enjoying the cold water.

Kat smiled at him and padded into the water only slightly, it was cold, and even on real hot days, she didn't like being too cold, or too wet. It reminded her of the rain, that reminded her of her family, which she knew she would never see again. "The water nice? I'm glad I could help you Ekene..." she said with a nod. Yes, helping others was nice.
