D.Gray-man... such an odd and hard to spell title (ok, it's hard to get the punctuations right... sweatdrop )
Any theories as to why that's the title? Yes, I'm aware that D.Gray-man wasn't the initial title of the manga.
My theory: Noah's family has both a black side and dark side. Could it be that Allen, with his white hair, cursed eye and parasitic innocence that (is this intentionally?) fits in with the family's style, is somewhere between black and white?
Yeah, that's my theory... sweatdrop

Hoshino said something that it could mean many things. The 'D' could stand for Dolls which was one idea for the title.

Lots of her characters are doll-like to me. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Or maybe that title has something to do with the Akuma... Dolls, I mean.

Chikoi Nyanko-chan Didn't Hoshino-sensei write something about thinking up things in the bath..and he came across the title like that? XDD Yeah, even so the title still has to have something to do with the story, right?

Hoshino-sensei also said it could refer to Allen and some other characters I can't remember off the top of my head, so your hypothesis could be true.

Hmmm... maybe it's because Allen has his Akuma/cursed human side and human side active while the Noah dudes have to swtich from black and white...

I thought it was because Allen fought for both the Akuma's and Human's; Black and White = Gray.

Well, I recently got the english D.Gray-Man volume number 4, and around the end, you see a skull floating out of Allen's eye with a "D" on it that looks exactly like the "D" in the D.Gray Man title. All fancy looking and stuff. And What Makeishi said is pretty relevant too. Black and white for the human and akumas. In volume 4 they say that too. "I see the black and white of this world..."

Makeishi I thought it was because Allen fought for both the Akuma's and Human's; Black and White = Gray. thats what i thought. because Allen destroys to save, and fights for both the good side, (white/humans) and the bad side (black/akuma) i'd like to know what the D is for though.
