Mistys Character

Name: Akera Nicumea
Race: Human {Mage}
Dispostion: Self Serving
Physical Description: Akera, when standing tall, is five foot and five inches. She is very pale because of lack of sunlight. The clothing she wears isn`t uncommon, but expensive in the eyes of peasents. Her pants are too long for her and very baggy. There are hints of tears and rip in the knees and where the pockets are; they are heald up with a leather belt that was givin to her by a friend. Her shirt is more plain - also with rips on the sleeves and hem - and is a dark gray. It`s usualy hidden by her black cloack which falls just to the ground. Her face is something that most mage`s find odd. It`s smooth and round, but a cold glare is usualy heald in her crimson eyes. Her hair is long, red, and falls to the very bottom of her back. During the rainy season it tends to poof slightly. On her right cheek right under the bone is a small scar. [Refer here]
Mini-Bio: Akera lived with her parents until she was almost five years old. One day while she was out playing they dissapeared. She came back to find them missing. Confused by what had happened, she tried to make it to the next village which was two days walk. She only made it half way when an old mage found her. He took her and showed her the art and magick of being a mage. She is strong, but nothing compared to what he was. When she had learned most of what he had to taught, he brought in second apprentice. Akera wasn`t happy since this took away from her lessons, but delt with it. This only lasted for a few years when the second apprentice got far to cocky and attacked and killed their master. Akera fled into the kingdom and lived there for a while until the king died. Everyone says old age, but Akera suspects foul play.
Weapons: A long bladed katana is always strapped to her back. The blade is a deep red and has a long gash down the middle; she refuses to tell anyone what it`s from. This is only a last resort. Akera`s first weapon is her staff. It`s long and exactly her height. It`s made of two different type of wood the are together at the bottom, and cut and intertwine to the top where there is a small, dark blue crystal. This was her masters staff and where most of her power comes from.
Additional Equipment: A small fairy type object made from glass. This is her most prized posession and is hung around her neck like a neckalce, always hidden under her cloak. She would die to protect this.
Misc: She dislikes animals with a passion.

The room was musty and smoke filled. THje stench or fear weighed heavily in the air. Brugner walked slowly into the common room of the Inn. Looking over the myriad of tables he saw the uneasiness that deluded the spirits of all the inhabitants of the town.
The fall of Falls Dale had shaken these people. The tales of rape and pillage brought by the few surviors grew and were embellished with each telling until a commong goblin was a rampaging Dragon of mythic proportions. In reality. the towns palisade would likely hold back any offesive move by the goblinoid horde approaching.
Brugner approached the bar and began to inquire about wear he could hire on as a sell sword when the door to the tavern open and in stepped a Human girl, with hair as red as his beard and extremely pale skin. He felt she was definately one to watch........

The Mouth of Justice meditates wisdom, and His language, the tongue is made clear. Bless man which suffers temptation. Since he with striving will have received life’s crown.

From somewhere high in the trees came a small voice. It was firm, but soft. It was the type of voice that no one thought could yell, then when the voice did it was harsh and loud and made people afraid. She didn`t like to yell, no, not her. A smirk creeped up slowly as she jumped down from the tree. As she landed in a small crowd a few of them jumped back in surprise while others just continued along. What a strange kingdom, how ever strange indeed.

Her black hood was up and sheilded her crimson eyes from the hot sun that beat down. It made most warm just looking at her, but the heat didn`t bother her at all. She preferred it to the cold. In her right hand she held her staff. Her grip was tight and staff glimmering almost happily to be in the sun. She glanced around, her head unmoving and letting her eyes move, then fell upon a tavern. She could use a drink after being in that tree over looking the kingdom for so long. She walked toward it, her pace slow and almost irregular; her staff tapping with every other step she took.

As she pushed the door to the tavern open the scent of fear and blood was so heavy it could be smelt. Even by her, a human. She would have thought that to be pathetic if not the situation. A strand of her red hair fell from her cloak and in front of her. The bar was full of discusting and filthy people. Most looked as if they hadn`t had a decent meal or bath in monthes. From under her cloak she made a discusted look and walked over to the bar with the same pace and tapping as before.

The human girl in the black cloak came up to the bar and obvious look of disdain on her face at the press of humanity inside the inn. Brugner looked up at her and examined her pale features. The clothing she wore wasn't cheap but it wasn't exactly top of the line either.
Her staff on the other hand, it was a work of art. Brugner had seen many magnificent weapons and enough magic to know that there was power in this staff. The intertwining of the wood as well as the crystal at the top were all signs of magnificent crafting. It also said another thing.
This girl was a magic user.
If there was one thing the dwarf hated, it was magic. It was much to unpredictable and much much to dangerous to its users. The dwarf always loved the embrace of the polished hardwood grips on his axes. The cold steel always gave him the same results. It could split the head of a goblin the same way every time.
Bong Bong Bong

The dwarf jumped as the tolls of a bell rang throughout the city. the bell could only mean one thing...the enemy was on its way. The dwarfs suspicions were confirmed as he saw the men at arms grapping weapons and armor and running out of the tavern. Not one to miss out on a chance top crack some jaw the dwarf hastily threw down his last steel coin on the bar and headed for the barracks. Surely they could use an extra hand....

Akera eyed the dwarf in a slightly annoyance as she sat. He was examining her with what seemed like interest and curiousity. The only thing dwarves were good for were mining. She hadn`t met many ones that were good at anything but that and fighting. Then again, what else was there in a time like this that mattered? At the sound of the bells ringing through the city she glanced toward the door. Men were picking up weapons and seemed to be getting ready to fight. Hm? She hadn`t been in this village to long but seemed to get what was going on. Something was approching. She jumped up from her stool without bothering to say anything to the bartender and followed after the dwarf who seemed to know where he was going. The dwarf was following many of the other men so she figured that was where the fighteres were going. Her steps were light and swift like an elves, though not nearly as close to them. The hood of her black cloak stayed in place because of her magick. Most thought it to be a waste, but she didn`t care.

As she thought, not many women were there to fight. There were a few, but none who looked ready to be there. Akera lowered her hood more without using her hands - using magick of corse - then glanced around, most of her face consumed by the shadow of her hood but her eyes brightly shinning. Why turn down a chance to practice, she thought standing aside, no one can say no to someone who want to fight. They look like they could use and extra hand any how.

Eager for some action the dwarf followed the militia men towards a large wooden build. The milling mass of soldiers showed that the building was serving as a command post. By the looks of it, it would serve better as a stable.
Approaching a man wearing a helmet with a crest of horse, which the dwarf took as a sign of status, the dwarf walked up to him and demanded in a voice that grated like gravel,
"Wheres a warrior sign up fer killin' round here?'
The officer looked down on the dwarf with a sneer, "We haven't seen your kind around for a while runt."
The dwarf turned and drew the axe that hung from his belt and spun, hitting the officers kneecap with the flat of his blade. A loud crack ensued as the kneecap shattered and the officer fel to the ground writhing in pain. The dwarf turned and glared at the crowd of armed men.
"Now whos gonna so me to the man in charge around here!'
A man wearing a similar crested helmet stepped into the dwarfs range of vision.
"I don't need anyon e incapacitating my officers, more so with a battle ensuing. I am Captain Guurda, who are you and what do you want?"
"What I want is your gold, as well as a few little green bastards ears for my belt. Do I make myself clear?"
"Very master Dwarf. I am sure we can find a place on the walls for a warrior of your....stature"
Drawing his axe up for a throw Brugner felt a stely grip around his wrist.
"Hold you fire for the greenskins brother."
Turning Brugner found before his eyes an ancient dwarf. His bread and hair gone nearly white, but the steely eyes and corded muscles were as well as ever. Happy to see one of his kind but a little confused, the officer had said none of his kind had been seen for a while.
"Who are ye and whats yer clan?" Blurted Brugner curious to hear about this strange new dwarf.
"My names Duren, of clan Thunderhammer. The clan sent some twenty of us ter discourage the greenskins from coming any closer to our operations in the nearby foothills.
That made sense, Brugner had heard that there was a clan of dwarfs mining for gold and silver nearby. Drawing himself up a little Brugner slammed his hand into his chest as was custom among dwarfs to render respect to elders, " I am Brugner of the clan Brightaxe."
As the introduction was made a commotion drew the dwarfs attention. It seemed that a young human was making a report to Capitan Guurda.
"Sir, The goblins have been spotted on the road. They are nearly here."
Guurda dismissed the young man and began to order all the men to thier respective positions for the defense of the town. Pointing to the dwarfs he said,
"We have enough men to cover the town, you will stay here and and act as a flying reserve. Your job is to fill any holes that may show up in the defense."
The elderly dwarf stood to and snapped his hand up,' Aye sir, we won't dissapoint ye."
Satisfied the captain turned and left. Duren tuned and with a glint of trouble in his eye said,
'Now Brugner, you know we can't let them humans have all the fun, what you say we go open the gates for our guest and have a little party?
Smiling gleefully Brugner turned and said 'Ye have a grand little idear there, lets go have party.'
They both turned ant trotted for the main gates of the town, twenty other short stouit figures joingin them along the way until the small horde of dwarves reached the front gates. With a hand signal to the others in his company Duren told them to take care of the humans manning the gate.
Less than 30 seconds later the dwarfs were pulling comatose hum,ns from the positons. The dwarfs lfted the heavy wooden pole from the gate and opened it only to find a group of five dumbfuonded goblins looking up at them. With a great cry of "Thunderhammer" and a lone "Brightaxe!!!" the dwarves descended on the goblins like a horde or ravenous wolves.
As the goblins were killed the dwarfs found themselves surrounded by a large group of warg riders.
Brugner glancing over at his bretheren smiled and yelled
"lets git dis party started!!' And with that hurled him self at the nearest rider and set to his bloody work.....

Akera smirked slightly as the small dwarf wacked some idiot with his axe. The crack she could hear told her it was broken. What fool was stupid enough to talk down to a dwarf - even if they were small and it was quite easy to do. Even she wasn`t stupid enough to talk down to one with an axe. There was only a fifty - fifty chance of dodgin it without an injury. Hard headed little demons wouldn`t give up after missing once. Took them a good four of five times, maybe and most likely more. She stayed silent and in the shadows as an elder dwarf appeared. After talking to each other for a few moments, the two and many other dwarves - twenty or more - wandered, or to her it looked like wobbled, down toward where the goblins were.

"Foolish man." she muttered walking over to the man with the broken knee. She bent down and touched her hand to his knee gentally. The man winced in pain, but stopped at the look she gave him. There was a small glowing - from her staff and hand - then a cracking sound. She didn`t pay attention to the mans reaction - though she was sure he was in more pain than before - then stood up. Healing was far more painful when done by magick. That was how she made it on purpose though. Magick was to dangerous to be used all the time. She glanced over to the dwarve, then decided to follow. These other humans were boring, maybe the dwarve would be a little more entertaining. She ran past the gates behind them and jumped into a tree as they closed. Warg riders, hm? Let me see how they survive. If they need help, then I will. This will be interesting to see how they fight. I never do pay attention to dwarves when they fight. she thought, sitting on the branch with her feel falling toward the ground. She rested the staff across her lap and looked down to the dwarves.

Pulling his axe from the bloody mess that was a moment ago the head of a warg. Looking around it was hard to tell which side was winning. He saw four blocks of dwarves wheeling around the entrance to the town turning it into a killing ground. Suddenly the largest warg and rider burst from the side and landed on a block of dwarves, the javelin held in the riders hand impaled a dwarve and scattered the other.
Gathering himself Brugner let out a feral yell and charged the wargrider. His axe high above his head he leaped in to the air and swung with a mighty fury his clan name ringing on the wind "BRIGHTAXXXXXEE' His axe impacted the riders head witha mighty thud, causing the helmet to implode and blood and gore to ooze from the eyeslits.
On the ground brugner tried to pull his axe from the crushjed skull of the goblin but couldn't free his weapon. The goblins mount turned and seized brugner with its mighty jaws lifting him in the air.......

Akera watched the fight with only mild interest. Both sides weren`t doing all the good. When one on one side fell, one from the other did as well. She huffed slighly seeing the dwarf from the bar being lifted in the mouth by the large warg he had tried to kill. Looks like goblins are more hard headed than I thought. she thought and jumped down down from the tree. A few dwarves noticed, but payed no mind. No human, magick user atleast, would side with the grusome and uglyness that most called a goblin. Akera pulled her sword from the sheath on her back then griped her staff. It glowed a little again then seemed to almost melt in her hand. The crystal at the top seemed to fall down the wood until her hand and turn into bits of blade. A small, sharp, and dark blue blade every few inches. She then ran quickly - seeming almost unhuman, but no faster than any other human could run if trained - then jumped up onto the wargs back. "You shouldn`t eat that," she said and crossed her arms, her katana on one side of its neck and her newly formed staff on the other, "you don`t know where its been." With that said, she pulled her arms together, and out then jumped off gracefully and landed behind it and the dwarf.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 05, 2007 10:47 pm

Seeing the human girl hop up on the wargs back and dispatch it with a bladed staff and a curved sword. As he fell from its jaws he tumbled and fell on the ground. Pulling his handaxes from his belt he began to lay about him. drawing goblin blood with a renewed vigor.
He had been ready to kill the warg when it had bit him, his chain mail was more than a match for the things mangy rotted out teeth. The girl had just saved him the trouble of getting blood on his armor. The dwarfs were beginning to gain the upper hand. He saw goblins being surrounded and slaughtered wholesale.
As the last goblin was killed the dwarfs gathered the wounded, only two but both were critical injuries. Two dwarfs left to escort the injured back to the first aid station.
The eighteen remaining dwarves closed the gates and barred them. After climbing the watch tower a dwarf yelled down that the battle had subsided and the remains of the goblins were retreating. There looked to be a few hundred of the little green bastards
The dwarves looked at each other, the same thing was going through all of their minds....'Certainty of death. Small chance of success. What are we waiting for?'
As one they threw the bar of the gate to the ground and rushed out toward the goblin retreat.....

Akera shook the blood from her sword with a flick of her wrist then shoved the blade into the sheath behind her, all in a quick motion. She watched the wounded being taken to to be healed and nodded a little. Just as she pushed her staff in front of her to retreat it to its normal state, she heard some odd commotion from the other side of the gate. More goblins? Hard headed little demons never knew when they were going to loose. They fought foolishly without thinking for themselves about what they were doing. Oh well, she could use the fight anyways. Well, this will be an interesting fight. Lives will be lost, but a battle is a battle and we have to win, one way or the other. she thought, deciding to leave her staff the way it was. It would make killing goblins a whole lot easyer than just wacking them over the head. They might have been harded headed, but a wack with her staff wasn`t to easy and probably to stand up right afterward and say you were fine. She waited for the dwarves to all pass, then ran out right behind them, ready for a fight.

The blood dripped from his axe. He yanked it from the particularly largish goblins head. The body of the goblin was covered in strange tattoos that swirled and turned. The greenskin was wearing little clothing and carried a crude club, nothing more than a sharpened stone fastened to the end of a stick really.
Standing straight Brugner wiped the blade of his axe on the grass to clean the gore and blood from it. As he looked around he saw the other dwarves finishing the opponents that were matching up with them. The goblin retreat had been a disorganized and jumbled affair. This was one of the only reasons that had allowed the relatively small group of dwarves to cause so much damage to the retreating elements.
What surprised Brugner was that there had been no hobs or bugbears. Usually the goblins didn't gather in the numbers they had seen without the supervision or influence of one of the stronger smarter creatures. Oh well, it didn't matter now he thought as he looked around the fields at the dead goblins around. He had managed to salvage a very healthy amount of gold from the dead bodies of the goblins.
Turning Brugner saw Duren approaching, his hammer and breastplate covered in gore, a huge smile visible under his bearded face. Brugner's visage mimicked that of his companion. They both enjoyed battle, as did the whole of the dwarven race, there was only one thing the dwarves enjoyed more was hitting a pure vein of ore.
The two dwarves turned of surveyed the carnage they had wreaked upon the enemy.
"The little green bastards never knew what hit them." Said Brugner softly gazing out over the battle field.
‘Reminds me of the days when I was your age, but alas, by old bones are growing too weak to continue swingin this hammer and smashing green skulls.'
‘That I doubt you turned those little green spawn back like you were hitting nails. You have a lot more fight left in ye old timer.' Said Brugner with a hint of respect in his voice.
'Well there come a time wh-"
Brugner felt a grip on his shoulder, turning he saw a bloody spear point protruding from Durens stomach. The spear point was black and barbed, the haft a blacked iron staff. It was held by a burly goblinoid, standing well over six feet tall, with little hair on his body and tribal tattoos covering him from head to toe.
Brugner swung his axe out and around lodging it in the creature’s leg. Leaving it there he grabbed his two hand axes and threw them, lodging the weapons in the burly chest of the creature. His attacks cause little more than an irritated twitch in the creatures face.
Flabbergasted Brugner watched as the creature lifted duren over its head and tossed him from the spear, Durens body falling seemingly lifeless to the ground a dozen paces away. Looking around for a weapon, Brugner spotted Durens hammer, grabbing it and rolling through the creatures legs he turned and swung with all of his might, dislodging the knee cap of the creature and bring it to the ground.
Brugner was on his feet in a flash. Standing above the creatures head he raised the hammer above his head. Invoking the names of his races deities he brought the hammer down on the things head, crushing the skull and causing the face of the creature to collapse in on itself.
By this time the other dwarves of Durens clan had arrived on the scene hacking the creature to a bloody pulp. The dwarves then gathered around the body of the elderly dwarf. Durens lips began to move almost imperceptable words coming forth.
A younger dwarf, a member of Durens family by the looks of him, knelt by and listened to the words of his grandfather. As the last words were uttered the dwarfs’ life faded away. Taken by the winds of time to sit in the halls of his ancestors and never face the tortures of mortal life again.
Durens Grandson stood, and an almost painful look on his face,
"My grandfather wished his hammer to go to, Brugner of clan Brightaxe, He also wished that in reward for his courage and valor shown he be made an honorable member of clan Thunderhammer."
The other Dwarfs looked on in awe, to receive the hammer of an elder was an honor of the highest order, and to be made a member of another clan, that was almost unheard of.
Again Durens Grandson spoke,
'We all know that all clan members present must agree are there any objections?'
The dwarfs of clan Thunderhammer looked at each other, none wanting to go against the dying words of their elder. After a few moments of silence Durens grandson made the speech.

"Brugner Brightaxe, Do you accept the honorary title of Thunderhammer, and all of the duties that are taken on by that title, namely to protect and assist any member of the clan in need to the best of your ability and to always show courage and valor in the face of an Enemy? DO you accept the Hammer that has been passed to you?'

Lifting the hammer and looking at the filigree and intricate carving of a thunderstorm of the hammers head, he then looked up at the crowd and nodded. "I do accept these responsibilities and will carry on the name of Duren and his clan, always upholding the honor and valor set forth by that name.

The dwarves sat and sang and drank, occasionally sending on or two of the younger members to town for another keg of mead of ale. Tales of adventure of loss great victories and horrendous losses were told that night. Another story was added to the vast repository of the dwarves that night. The story of the life of Duren Thunderhammer.

Satisfied that they had given proper praise to the spirit of Duren the dwarfs gathered up the body of the elderly dwarf and headed back for the town, the sun raising in the distance cast a golden hue over the bloody field of battle, a golden hue that signaled A New Dawn...

Not even to much into the battle, Akeras cloak had goblins blood all over it. She would have to get rid of it and buy a new one. This one could have been cleaned, or dyed, but it would forever hold the stench of goblins. The very thought made her gag. She dived to one side as a goblin tryed to slash through her, the weak thing it called a blade only brushing her cloak. She spun back around to him and cut the thing in half. These things will never cease to come! she thought dodging past a few more. Then, in what to her seemed like a blink of an eye, it was over. The goblins had fallen and the dwarves were gathering in one place. She looked over curiously then looked to her staff. She then decided to return it to normal before letting her curiousity take over. She changed the staff from her right hand to her left then spun it in a fast motion. When she stopped spinning it, the staf was just as before, and blood free. It shows not a single sign of a battle.

Akera tapped her staff on the ground then walked over to the small crowd. Without needing to be told, she could tell someone of great importance had died. There was sorrow - and way to much blood - in the air. She peered over the dwarves heads easily and noticed the one from the bar reciving some sort of title, or something along that. She didn`t know much of the dwarves beliefs of traditions, or anything actually, but she knew that this was some sort of great honor. One that a human should not have the privlages of veiwing. She nodded her head in respect for the fallen dwarf - for any dwarf that might have noticed her. She didn`t want to seem rude and start war between the two races. After that she sent it one last glance, then walked away.

Walking back through the gates, she could tell the battle had been watched by other humans and non fighting people. She cursed in an annoyed voice and stepped into the shadows, none to early. I need a new cloak. she thought, nothing else really mattering to her at that moment. She glanced around, not seeing a talor anywhere. Damn, I wish I knew this village more. I`ll figure it out later. she thought, pulling her cloak off and dropping it in an ally, then stepping out into the open in front of an inn. Now she wore a pair of black pants and a gray shirt, Her staff was of corse held in her hand and her katana on her back. It was so odd not wearing a cloak.

Akera sighed a little then walked into the inn. It was small, but seemed cozy enough. "A room. One night." Her voice was firm, and short like she was in a angry mood. The keeper senced something and got her a room closely. She paid him then dissapeared to her room. The room was much like the inn, small, but cozy. One bed, one desk, a drawr, a bathing room, and a small window. The first thing she did was walk to the window and glance out to the battle feild. The battle had been much of the night, and it had taken Akera longer to find an inn. She sighed a little and watched the sun rise peacefully. Surprisingly not a bit tired, just feeling a little weak.
