*sigh* It's because the people who made the show named the couple after the famous musician. In fact, several people in that show are named after musicians.

Take Axel Thurston. Fist name sound familiar to some? It should. That's the first name of Axl Rose from Guns n' Roses. Adrock Thurston is named after Adam Horovitz, aka Ad-Rock, from the Beastie Boys. Two other people associated with Adrock Thurston gained their names from the other two members of the Beastie Boys. The Thurstons' last name is a reference to Thurston Moore of the band Sonic Youth.

Characters' names not only derive from musicians, but from all sorts of other places such as famous and fictional people. How did I found this out, you may ask? But yeah. I figured out that Ray and Charles were named after Ray Charles when I said something to myself about Eureka and Renton. Something along the lines of: "He needs to get the Ray to his Charles!" Then I freaked out. "Oh, CRAP!! THEIR NAMES IS RAY CHARLES'S!!!! O___O"

Well... some articles on wikipedia are.... questionable. Since people cane edit anything, it's not a very reliable source.

But I'm most definately sure the characters names are the same in the original Japanese. The only difference would be in pronounciation because Japanese change foreign names and words a little to make it more easier to pronounce for them. Like.. Take the name Greg. A Japanese person would say "Guregu." Or something along those lines. razz

The only time a character's name would be changed in making it for English speakers is if it's targeted at little kids. Like Tokyo Mew Mew. They aim it at little girls, and they don't know a lick about Japanese names. So to make it easier for the kids to understand and associate with, they make the names ones you'd recognize in America. The same goes with Sailor Moon and Cardcaptors. With a more serious anime targeted for older people, they wouldn't change the names.

Yeah thats interesting, maybe because they love music and for the puix put eureka seven- ray and charles. Maybe that'll work.

Well, music is after all one of the inspirations for Eureka Seven, one that definitely influenced the entire series

And yea, how they can manipulate that love for music to help them in battle is pretty awesome
