What an extraordinary life he led. Although undeniably clinically insane.
He was hung just the other day and I watched it live.
Although it brought great satisfaction that an anarchist and a creator of chaos had finally been given to God to decide their fate, I couldn't help but wonder, why was he hung? What was the reasoning? Why not gas or electric chair?
But also, what are your thoughts on the whole situation of Iraq and Saddam's reign.

I think that, though he was indeed clinically insane, he led an incredible life. I do not think that it was America's perogative(sp?) to stay in Iraq, even after we found no WMD's, and I think that Bush made it worse by staying so long... I think that, were we to pull out completely NOW, we would only be opening ourselves up to attack.

Yeah, I thought they'd do something quiet like lethal injection. But I guess that's just how they do things.

I was thinking to preform something a lot more painful to a man that tested his own weapons on his people. Though hanging was a nice touch, seeing as how there very few people being hung anymore.
I would have started by cutting off his limbs, burning the wound, and the move on to various techniques used by the Spanish when "questioning" heritics.
Then I would have started with a few things of my own, including a special one of him having his balls cut with paper. Followed by handing him over to the Texas government, and having him hung, with his toes holding himself up, while they use him for target practice with darts.

Ah, but by torturing him that way would make us, or who ever chose his method of death, ect, just as bad as him, in which case, we really wouldn't have any right to punish him in such a manner. Why should we stoop down to his level?

I must agree with TheFateOfTheUniverse. What good would torturing him do? I understand your... Dislike for him, but he was a person. A cruel, and insane person, but a person nonetheless.
If, my some strange turn of events he was killed that way, I'm almost positive some group of people would be upset by this, perhaps leading to riots? Who knows what would happen. But.. Not good.

I'm sick of this guy. He really should have had an injection, but when the public is bloodthirsty, hanging is the best "humane" way to do it.

Well, in the first place, we didn't execute him, the newly formed democraZy of Iraq did. And their tradition of executions is generally either hanging, or beheading, one of which is quick and the other involves the use of the gallows. But if you look at the entire time Saddam was in power and how many civilians died by his hand, versus how long this war's been going and how many innocent civilians have become casualties of war, you can only draw the following conclusion: Bush is worse than saddam I don't care if saying...typing that emboldens terrorists, as you can plainly see it's already in bold text...and underlined.
