-Kellas' Little Black Book Goes Here-
Kaithryn || A rather interesting person with pale hair and what seems to be a superficial smile. He "protects" the smaller Mio - and is quite possessive. Nothing more known at this time. Mio || Delicate little bit of fluff with apparently no common sense - save for a moth in a jar. Belongs to Kaithryn, likes to mimic actions and words, but seems to not be completely there. Nothing more known at this time. ??? || Blue fox-type, multiple tails - seems kind. No further information gathered at this time. Sobek || Appears to be a crocodile-type...defintely reminds me of a pirate. Fondness for rum, scrimshaw, and who knows what else. Currently running a shop with another Dou named "Hex". No further information known at this time. Hex || Runs a shop with Sobek. No further information known at this time. Spicata Mint || Owns the dress shop I am currently employed with. Has expressed interest in my "information" services. Seems a quiet, kind person. No further information know at this time. Setosa || Iris-type, rather intent with his work, but highly unfriendly and bristley - though it seems that is mostly a front to allow him to work in peace. Still, there is much that is interesting about him. Reasearching on further information. Damien || Lunar-type, wolf-beast. Exceeding violent and simplistic in actions - location unknown. I will kill this creature if given half a chance. Novalle || --- compiling

Elysium. What a bumbling, bustling place - so very busy...much like Imperial before the Fall. Now Imperial is..nothing but ashes in our mouths; even thinking about the life I had there - all that was lost - makes my stomach acidic, and leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
I've only recently made the pilgrimage here, and I find myself at a loss of what to do. Here, I have no job to weary my body and keep my mind occupied; and I've seen none of the Doushikai that I used to know. I believe that most of them are dead at this point. Those that aren't, well...Elysium is a large place. Perhaps I will never know what became of them.
For the moment, I've let a small flat in a rather...tasteless place. It's cramped but as I have few belongings with me, it suits just fine. Have been picking at people's minds to see about employment; I need something to occupy my time lest I go mad...
---
Kellas pushed his glasses up and sipped coffee from a cracked ceramic mug as he saved the entry into his personal log before staring out the single window in the flat. His notebook computer was one of the few things he owned that had any true worth - it was small, but powerful - something he'd kept from his job.
Despite the open window, and his state of relative undress, the day was still slightly warmer than he would have liked. It might have been because the time of day dictated the sun would pour in on him mercilessly...or it might have been the slight fever he'd gotten on the trip over; either way, Kellas Julia was grumpy and irritable.
The dusky-hued man sighed and snapped the cover of his computer shut, setting his coffee down. It was cool by then; he'd been staring out the window and hadn't even noticed it. How long? He did it often now...and he never knew how long he'd been "out".
"Tch..."

Shop RP || Kellas, Kay & Mio, Chiwa Mio: *peers out, shuffles past* >_>..<_<....o.o *flee?!*
Kellas: *doesn't know the fox, nope, slinks off to find coffee*
Kay: *perches on a wall with a long cigarette and a raised eyebrow, patient*
Kellas: *finds coffee, ignore the idiot fox; notes the perched one*
Kay: *salutes Kellas with the cig, taps ashes over the side of the wall*
Mio: *shuffles over to Kellas, peers at the coffee* o_O.. *offers hands out for some coffee too?*
Kel: oO;; *quirks a brow at the hands, but pours a second cup and hands it to Mio; raises his own cup in salute to Kay, and sips it*
Mio: *pleased!, takes the cup, mimics Kellas, takes a GULP* O______O.. AGGH?! *drops the coffee, appearing wounded* ...hot. .__.
Kay: *smothers a laugh, drifts over to lift Mio's chin* It's HOT, sweetling. You have to be more careful. *so amused, quirks a smile at Kellas* Sometimes, I don't know what jar he's left his common sense in for the day
Kellas: *sets his cup down and shakes his head at the other* Bloody hell.... *eyes Kay* And you two are...? *glances at Mio, wondering precisely that - where the hell was his common sense!?*
Mio: *reaches into his robes, produces a jar filled with a tiny moth.. shakes it, watches the moth slam around against the glass... offers it out to Kellas* C'mn Sense! .__.
Kay: *charming, almost sweet smile* I am Kaithryn, and this pretty little flame of genius is Mio. No, sweetling, put it away- you might need it later.
Kellas: *looks at the jar, then back at Mio* ...So it would seem. *files away initial observations for later use; offers Kay the same sort of smile - sans the "sweet" part* Kellas. Charmed, I'm sure.
Mio: o_O... *he seemed to think a long moment, before tucking the jar away once more and pulling out a long bit of tied string. He set them on his fingers and began making disgustingly elaborate patterns by manipulating them between his fingertips... He got distracted by something on Kellas and paused, staring at him through narrowed eyes... It took several more seconds before he blinked, looking as if he didnt remember why he'd given him the suspicious glare, and smiled* Me-oh~ <3
Kay: It always is. *purr* *brushes a hand through Mio's hair, nuzzles him* I have been...protecting pretty Mio for quite some time. Yours isn't a face I've seen in the area.
Chiwa: *saunters in with a small bag in hand and looks around for Mor.. not seeing him he eyes the other Dou before making his way to them*
Kiran: *follows Chiwa but just glances over the others before flopping on the nearest couch/chair*
Kellas: *finds the suspicious look rather..interesting, but doesn't comment on it* How fortunate for him... *sips at his coffee before it cools much more* I've been busy settling in... *offers no more information than that; honestly knows none of the others around here*
Mio: *sees other people, chews idly on the bit of string while watching them all float about, glances back at Kellas and his coffee.. forgets the string totally and offerrs his hands out for the coffee again* Hot.
Kay: *eyes Mio...tucks his cig behind his ear and gently detangles the string* We have...'lived' in this area for quite some time. You'll find it a pleasant place, low crime, quiet neighbors...no one causes much trouble here. *glint of a darker, more amused smile as he takes notice of the newcomers*
Chiwa: *approaches the smallest Dou of the group and offers his small bag* Sweets?
Kellas: It seems quiet enough... *wonders if he should give Mio another cup, pours again and offers this cup with a warning* Sip it slowly, lest you get burnt again. *eyes the new comers, wondering who they are*
Mio: *takes the coffee, then glances at the other offering the sweets... finds he ran out of hands, since both are holding the hot cup* Mhrrr.. *giving a small frustrated sound, he crouched down, setting the cup of coffee at his feet before standing up again to take the bag of sweets* .__. *completely forgot he has coffee at his feet now, content with staring into the bag and giving it a sniff*
Chiwa: *tries to peek into the bag along with Mio, pointing out the sweets he has* Those are star candies.. and cupcakes.. and brownies.. *neverending bag of sweets* ^____^ *wags his tails happily*
Kay: *cold, momentarily violent glance at Chiwa before moving Mio a step back- away from both sweets and the perilously placed cup* I think you've had enough sugar today, Mio. Do you not want your coffee? *retreives the long cig from behind his ear*
Kellas: *notes that glance from Kay, and seems a tad bit more interested - so the pale haired man was...jealous of his little charge...how very interesting* Hmm.... *sips his coffee* I don't suppose you'd know of any places hiring? *blunt, when he's got a question*
Mio: *blinks, glancing at Kay like he'd said something spectacular like.. OMG JELLYBEANS...* Hot. *he looked over to the cup on the floor, scrambling to lift it up and moved to stand beside Kellas, trying to act as he was when he drank coffee.* Star candies~ *singsong, mimics Kellas's sip o' the coffee* .__. Not hot. *he sounded a little dissapointed at not being burned this time*
Chiwa: *blinks and cocks his head at Kay, having also caught the look and, like any other fox, very curious*
Kay: *back to being perfectly pleasant, gently teasing* Did you let it get cold, silly kitten? Shouldn't have waited. *blows smoke across Mio's cheek, eyes glinting as he watches the others* I'm afraid I can't help you with hiring. I don't often interact with the local market, you see. Perhaps simply walking the streets would assist? You never know what you'll find.
Kellas: *walking about like that isn't quite his style, but it's a thought* Perhaps, though I prefer to not do things like that. *blinks at Mio's mimicry of him and shakes his head a bit, taking a moment to eye Chiwa; these were strange people indeed!*
Mio: *finishes his coffee* Can we keep Kellas, I like him. *peers up at Kay, offering him the empty cup* Coffee! X3
Kay: *snort* No pets, sweetling, I thought we talked about this? *pets him, peers at the empty cup* You...are going to be one very awake little monster this evening.
Kellas: *narrows his eyes a bit* I am no pet, to be kept. *sets his cup of coffee down, wings fluffing a bit as he pushes at his specs*
Mio: *blinks, crestfallen, drops his arms to his side, peering at the cup sadly* .___. *catches the glint of light that hits Kellas's glasses, darts over to SNATCH them* O_O! Sparklies?!
Kay: *reacts with a frown, swiping the lit end of his cig across Mio's grabby hands* No. That's enough, Mio- you've offended our new friend, shame on you. *sharp voice, annoyed with him*
Kellas: *stiffens at seeing Kay burn the boy like that, and narrows his eyes at him* Harsh punishment for one that's done nothing. *isn't playing a white knight or anything, since he's an outsider; but thinks that was a bit much*
Mio: *Yelps, snatching his hand back and scurrying over to sit behind Kay, back against the man's legs as he peers at his hand* Shame on Mio~ *glances around Kay, waves at Kellas* .__. heart
Kay: Sometimes Mio gets a bit...out of hand. It is my pleasure to remind him how civilized people behave. *reaches down gently to pet Mio's hair, knowing he didn't do any real damage*
Kellas: *watches the pair quietly for a moment, but does see that Mio's not really hurt, so just shrugs a bit* I see...well, I'm certain you're quite well suited for the job....
Mio: *nods, then tugs the jar from his robe again, gives it a good shake and begins to whisper to it, carrying on a long conversation with the tiny glass jar and it's contents*
Kay: *amused smile, shrugs eloquently* I appreciate the vote of confidence, I really do. *slight beeping sound, winces* Ah. It appears time for us to leave- come with, Mio. We should have time for dinner before our...evening entertainments.
Mio: *stands and follows Kay* ...*wavewave*
Kellas: *dips his head and watches the pair quietly, curious as all get out about what entertainments they might have, but is too well mannered to ask questions when it's not his place to do so* Pleasure meeting you both...

Went out yesterday, ran into several strange people...One pair - Kaithryn and Mio - and a strange looking blue fox-type gentleman whose name I did not quite catch. They seemed friendly enough, though it is my belief that there is something more laying behind Kaithryn's smile. The expression didn't quite reach his eyes. His "ward", Mio, seems rather flighty and not all there. Very cute, but a little touched. He keeps his 'common sense' in a small jar. It's a moth.
The fox-type didn't seem to talk much, he was more interested in Mio than either myself or Kaithryn.
The meeting was quite short - the pair had to leave, and I moved on shortly after that. Employement beckons; I made a few inquiries here and there, but of course those places were hiring for tasks unacceptable to myself.
Still...having spoken with others seems to have improved my mood...enough that when I found a stray kitten in the alley near this place, I brought it home with me. I think I shall call it Aeden.
---
Said kitten was curled up in one of his shoes, all furry and cute and now clean. Kellas had given it a bath, toweled it dry, and then fed it, so it was sleeping happily; it's little silver-striped nose covered by it's paws.
The man himself shut down his computer after logging the entry and rubbed at his eyes. It was raining..when it rained, he got tired for some reason. The little wings on his back fluffed a bit as Kellas settled down to nap. There was nothing better to do, so why not?
"Aeden...a good name for you, cat."

RP3 Eventu || Spicata (Orasteele)
It had been 3 days since Spicata had to put up the Help Wanted sign. He had to find someone soon or he wouldn't be able to take the teaching job at the school. Fixing the seam on a gown seemed the only thing to keep his attention from the lack of help on the slow afternoon.
Kellas walked along the street with a newspaper tucked under his arm. So far, each place he'd visited had proved to be highly unacceptable in his eyes. It wasn't even that the man was being extremely critical - it was either the pay, or it was the job requirements. Someone as slender as he was couldn't be expected to move heavy boxes all day for next to nothing! Now, several hours into his job hunt for the day, he had given up and was just walking. Naturally, the moment he gave up - he saw a "Help Wanted" sign in the window of what appeared to be a decent place.
"...bugger all, it doesn't hurt to look" And with that the man opened the door and entered the shop, pushing up his glasses as they slipped down his nose.
s**c glanced up from the seam he was working on. Pale green hair slipped into his eyes as he watched the man. "Can I help you?
The intruder had a rather business-like - if weary - expression on his face, and his eyes seemed to take in everything at once. Some habits died hard, really; Kellas wasn't in the information business any longer, but he couldn't help trained habits coming to the fore, even now. "Perhaps you can...I saw the "Help Wanted" sign in the window, and stepped inside to inquire about it."
It was one fluid movement as s**c set the dress down shoved a pair of chopsticks into his hair and came around the counter with a gentle smile. "Please feel free to make yourself comfortable," He said gesturing to the seating area against one wall. "Would you care for some tea?"
Small white wings fluttered a bit, settling against the blue-haired man's back as he took a seat, and nodded at the mention of tea. He would have preferred coffee, but tea was just as well. "Yes, thank you." Kellas gave his "host" a bit of a smile; but it was more a gesture of politeness rather than a genuine smile. He was tired, hot, and grumpy - but at least it was cool in the shop - and was making an effort, but part of his brain kept saying that this would end up precisely like the rest of the day had: badly.
s**c passed him a cup of the current brew of chai tea and took one for himself. Speaking quietly he sipped his tea. "The job available is simple. All I need is someone to mind the store half the day, particularly the afternoon shift. I will pay you what I would pay myself to watch the shop and tend the customers. Have you ever worked in retail?"
Kellas took the proffered chai tea and sipped it thoughtfully before answering. "No, honestly, I've not worked retail much at all. I wouldn't have ever thought to have to." His words were blunt, but very honest. Before, he'd worked in the public, researching, gathering information, etc...but he'd never worked retail seriously. Occassionally he'd "faked" it for the purpose of information gathering, but as far as doing it for a living...no. His education had been to sophisticated for him to worry about a retail job!
s**c smiled sweetly and nodded. "That's alright I was only curious. It requires no skill at all, just the occassional clean up, make sure all the clothes are in the right place, and encouragement toward the customers so they purchase the clothing." He set his cup aside and looked his potential assitant over. "I'm curious, what business have you experience in? If that's confidential I understand, but I like to know."
"Information Services." He pursed his lips a bit, pausing to adjust his glasses better on his face. "I'm afraid more than that would be confidential...I can say I've skills typing, researching, and filing...though that is putting it in very general terms." Kellas looked away from the mint-colored gentleman for a moment to look around the store. It certainly looked calm enough...and as retail jobs went...he could do worse.
"I see. Well that does make things more interesting." He refilled his cup and held it to his lips thinking. "If this works out then I may pay you later for services as an information broker. There are ocassions where I need to find out schedules of clients and such." Taking a sip he set down his cup. That can wait though. "If you are interested you're hired."
Soft blue-white wings fluffed a bit and then settled again as the man thought it over. "I would be more than happy to assist you in that faculty, as well as in the shop, ah..I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch your name." Kellas was being polite again; Spicata hadn't offered his name, but the bluebird felt it would be quite rude to read the man's mind to get that bit of information; also, he didn't like exposing his little "talent" to others.
"Oh! I'm so sorry I compleatly forgot my manners. I'm Spicata Mint, it's a pleasure to meet you...."
Kellas offered his hand, holding the cup of chai he'd been given with his left; "Kellas Julia. Quite alright, it seems we both were preoccupied with other thoughts."
s**c shook Kellas' hand with all the caress of a courtesan. "The pleasure is mine. I've been knoticing your wings but thought it wise to not mention anything till I was sure that they did move on thier own. Are they natural?"
That handshake brought a world of questions into the bluebird's mind - what sort of man shook hands like that? He certainly didn't...but then again, all men did it differently - he dismissed such thoughts, he'd become somewhat paranoid living in Elysium. "Yes, I was born with them, and they move at the most inopportune moments."
"Fascinating. Well, it's getting late. Perhaps you could come by early tomorrow so that I can go over the details of the store and show you where everything is?" He said rising to his feet.
"Would nearer noon be acceptable, or should I try to come in the early morning?" Kellas set the empty cup he'd been given down and rose as well, his body language was much less defeated than when he'd stepped into the shop, but he was still a tad bit wary - this could fall through at any time. Damn him for being pessimistic!
"Noon would suit me fine." He walked over to the front and took down the help wanted sign from the window. "I look foward to working with you Kellas, and if you ever have any questions feel free to ask. Otherwise I will see you tomorrow." Finally Spciata could relax. Not only did he have someone to assist him in his cover work, he now found someone to help him with his night job. Now to introduce his young apprentice to him...that would be his next challenge.
"I will be here precisely at noon then. And thank you, I shall do my best." Because his best was all that Kellas could do - the man was a**l about things like that. If he was going to do a job, it would be done properly - or not at all. Had Kellas been reading Spicata's mind, he might have been a little put off, but it was still too early for him to be so "rude" with someone that was doing him a good turn. The blue bird dipped his head and turned to leave, his wings stretching out behind him just a tad - it was much more comfortable that way. "Until the morrow, Mr. Mint."
"Until tomorrow."

Finally found a bloody job - not certain how well this will suit as the place is a dress shop, but for right now, it's good enough. The man that seems to be in charge is one Spicata Mint, and he's a rather fey looking gentleman with good manners. Something about him seems a tad off, and the way he shook my hand...
He seemed a bit fascinated by my wings, but I might have been mistaken.
I begin working tomarrow in the shop I believe. Spicata has also taken interest in some of my other skills - I made mention that I used to be in the information services...perhaps I'll be able to get back into that sort of thing here.
Aeden is growing quickly, and clawing at the ratty rug on the floor by the door. I need to find him something better to destroy, and sometime soon.
Kellas rubbed at the back of his neck, sighing as he leaned back against the wall. He planned on sleeping shortly, so that he would be up and at his best tomarrow when he went to the store again.
"Alright cat, no keeping me up tonight, or it's out you go."
Aeden yawned at the man he'd adopted, and then rolled onto his back to sleep - inside one of Kellas' shoes.

Life has fallen into a strange sort of limbo right now. I work at the shop, I come home and Aeden is there. I still dislike cats, and there is the lingering suspicion that the beast wants to eat me. Or claw my wings apart. I took him in, however, and will not make him go - I keep the window open a crack so he can come and go as he pleases.
Setosa...I wonder how he's doing...and I wonder if he'd allow me to borrow that book he was reading. I've no doubt he's finished with it by now. My belongings have not grown as of yet, I'd rather save what I make for more important things, though I've certainly invested in more clothes.
Beyond that, it's very boring here...and the neighborhood is rather...corrupt. I could afford to move, but why bother? I have nothing worth stealing - save for this laptop, which I generally keep with me - so I'm left unmolested.
On the business end of things, I've been slacking. No new data for the "black book", unfortunately...though that is my goal for the weekend. After all, Spicata did say he'd wish to use my "other" services, perhaps it's time I set to work in earnest.
Kellas sighed and saved his entry. It was lackluster and boring, but it was something. he'd been so listless and restless lately that he'd not been writing properly - nor had he been "hunting" information as he typically did.
There was something gnawing at the bluebird's insides, and he didn't know what it was. Something told him that he'd not get rid of that particular feeling until he did.
"Well cat, what do you think? Shall I go out?" His smooth tenor sounded strangely loud in the relative silence of the small flat he lived in. Aeden lifted his silvery head from his paws and blinked at Kellas, yawning as though to say 'Do as you like, but keep me out of it.'
Long blue hair fell into the man's eyes as he shook his head at the animal's responce. "I don't know why I bother, you always do that..." But he did get up and put the small computer away for safekeeping so he could go out.
Aeden just flicked his tail and settled his wedge shaped head back on his paws, eyes half closing lazily while his "master" got ready, and then left.
