My friends who don't like tell me it's because it's all about losing something, which makes me really mad.

To people these days, they're under the belief that its all sad, depressing songs. Even though the genre still has songs like that today, the majority of the songs arn't even about loss.
It honestly annoys me that people dont even bother with it. It's hard even to find a country lover these days.

i dont know but i wish i understood! No offense to anyone, but rap is all about sex, and drugs. Country music has to do with love, and life. Its soothing and it helps me get through life. Even though some songs have to do with lose, there is a great variety of the music! Country Music rocks and i will listen to it for life!

You know I used to hate country music myself. I thnk though it isn't the music that I don't like, but the whole redneck thing it is generally associated with. I hate the whole cowboy hats and boots, line-dancing, pick-up trucks, etc. While I still don't like that stuff I understand now that very little of the music really has to do with any of that. Though the usage of "y'all" we may have to discuss. Or ain't, sorry I am kind of a grammar cop so that stuff gets on my nerves.

If you asked them why and they say they just don't like it then they don't really know what it sounds like or if they say all country music has a twang to it. THINK AGAIN!!! I can think of songs that don't have twang in it at all. There are a lot of catagories of country no a days. Sometimes it is because what tehy're peers think. If they give a good answer then...they heard a lot of country and know what they are talking about.

I's really weird. Everyone i no says they hate country music but country is the only music that makes any sence. Evrything else is loud and just causes headachs...

Personally I think the main reason why some people don't like country music is that they can relate to it easily and it bothers them. eek

I asked some people about why they don't like it and they said it's because it's hokey. They also say that they don't like the sound of the instruments.

My dad used to work at my grandfather's shop when he was younger and my grandfather kept the radio turned to country and apparently they were singing about depressed songs. It's funny to see people's eyes light up when they hear like "I Hope You Dance" on a coutnry station and they didn't know that it was country. So, all in all, I beleive it's ignorance and stereotyping. I'm not saying that they're aren't any sad songs out there, just saying times have changed...

alot of ppl i aksed said the rather have headbanger stuff witch is sometimes good music but contruy will top them anytime

Well my mom doesn't like it because she was forced to listen to it growing up, however 99% of the people who don't like it either haven't listened to it, or are just plain ignorant.
