I'm somewhat in the same boat as you are for learning to do things digitally. I just recently got Photoshop, actually, and have no clue how to use it, but Open Canvas 1.1 seems to be doing quite well for me. I mostly work with my tablet nowadays (or at least since I got it. God damn, I love that thing), but I still do a lot of pencil and ink art.
I love the pose in the second picture. =3 Made me smile when I saw it (first smile since I woke up from being sick. Thank-you muchly! X3). I like how you portray the character's facial expressions and such, and it works quite well with the style you have.
As for changing styles and such, my styles change ALL THE TIME. I think I've got one now that'll stick for a bit, but I'm not sure. *laughs*
What I did for learning to draw fabric and clothing more realisticly was to pay attention to the fabrics and such around me. I myself wear lots of different kinds of clothes, and so sometimes I'd sit in front of a full mirror and draw myself in exact detail, focusing on my clothes and such. I'm still working things out with it, so I can't give you the best of advice except to look at tutorials (dA has WONDERFUL fabric tutorials - use the search bar. =3)
