I've been watching clips from Lion Kings 1 and 2 like crazy lately, and it's really got me thinking: There's a lot of serious thinking that can be put into these movies.
Here's my biggest example. I see TLK2 as Scar's redemption. In much the same way that Mufasa lives on in Simba, I believe Scar lives on in Kovu. My reasoning for believing this?
1: After gazing up at the stars with Kiara, Kovu says "He wasn't my father, but he was still... part of me". He basically says it right there.
2: In Simba's dream, Scar transforms into Kovu, showing Simba that Scar did in fact live on.
3: During the song "One of Us", Kovu looks into the water, and his reflection turns into Scar's, in the same way that Simba's turned into Mufasa's.
I firmly believe that the events in this movie were a way to bring Scar's dark soul to the light, so he could rest in peace.
What do you think? What philosophical mumbo-jumbo have you thought of in the movies? I'll probably post more as I think of it.

As I read this, something came to me... You know how Kiara was pretty much the only one who thought Kovu wasn't evil/bad at a certain time? Well, what if we saw TLK from Scar's point of veiw? Maybe it would be like Kovu and Kiara... Everyone would hate him, except Zira... I dunno, just a thought.

2SkyDragon As I read this, something came to me... You know how Kiara was pretty much the only one who thought Kovu wasn't evil/bad at a certain time? Well, what if we saw TLK from Scar's point of veiw? Maybe it would be like Kovu and Kiara... Everyone would hate him, except Zira... I dunno, just a thought. ZOMG YES! Scar just wanted to be king. He had hopes and ambitions for a better Pride Lands. They just kinda didn't work out...

And even in TLKoB, he said no one had loved him even as a cub, maybe he just wanted people(Lions. xD) to finally notice him... And... I just had another idea... *Hugs* Thanks! ^^

Isn't Kovu a good guy? I didn't see it, but it's like Romeo and Juliet without everyone dying, right?
So wait... Scar is being redeemed by the fact that he picked a good foster child?

Another thing, When Simba saw Mufasa's reflection in Lion King 1, he peered even closer to the water. On the other hand, when Kovu saw Scar's reflection in TLK 2, he reared back in fear and ran away. This shows me that, while Simba desperately wanted to be like his father figure, Kovu did not.
