In general, though, I'm willing to give anything that's NOT Shonen-Ai/Yaoi/Really Bloody a fair shot. ^^ I don't believe in refusing to read most types of manga just because one type is particularly good.
((One person I know rarely reads manga that does not have a lot of ecchi in it... >.< It's annoying. He says it isn't 'good' if it doesn't have Love Hina-like scenes.))

Does your friend like the scences for the... inappropriateness, or for the laughs (I like them for the laughs). I like pretty much anything. Just, nothing to bloody.

I love all kinds of manga, although I prefer adult, action/adventure or sci-fi themes. I'm not too much into stories about love and relationships, a little too boring.
My favourite Manga is Battle Royale, and I Enjoy Immortal Rain too.
It's the same as my taste in Anime- I like adult-audienced (is that a real word) Stuff.

He claims it is for the laughs. I believe to the contrary, due to both his words and deeds. It might be both; it makes him laugh BECAUSE it is inappropriate, and he loves that junk. And he isn't my friend. >.< Not after all the stupid stunts he pulls.

Anything really. I like action, but there has to be comic relief or it'll just be too tense all the time.
Favorites: Love Hina, Fruits Basket, Mahou Sensei Negima, Bleach, Naruto, Tsubasa Chronicles, Comic Party

I have one! I just got introduced to it yesterday. But Yami probably wouldn't like it because the whole story is tense and there's not much comedy in it, well there is but a lot of people won't get it because you kinda have to be twisted to understand it. You guy's probably know about it already though. It called 'death note'
