I love the Sword in the Stone. My favorite character is Wart/Arthur and I really like the scene where they become squirrels.
The wizard is Merlin by the way.

I love the Magnificent, Marvelous, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Madam Mim! The wizards' duel is priceless. I'm also partial to Merlin's method of packing for travel. I wish I could magically shrink my stuff until it'll all fit in one bag. Archimedes is pretty cool, too. And I find Kay to be an oddly appealing character in his stupidity. Eh, it takes all kinds, right? "And that's what makes the world turn round...."

This movie is alright but not one of my favourites. I do LOVE the part when the turn into squirrels though!
I thought the end of this movie came rather abruptly. It felt so unresolved.

I loved this movie but my mom sold it in a garage sale and I didn't talk to her for at least a day because I was so mad when I found out about it.

UsagiBunny I love the Sword in the Stone. My favorite character is Wart/Arthur and I really like the scene where they become squirrels. The wizrd is Merlin by the way. I felt so bad for the girl squirrel after Wart turned back into a human.

Yeah, those poor, heartbroken and traumatised female squirrels.
And you got the lyrics right, Water! "I can be beautiful, lovely, and fair! Silvery voice, long purple hair! La la la la Lala la la la la La la lalala la Lalala la la la! But it's only skin deep, For zim zamarun zim! I'm that ugly old witch! The Magnificent, Marvelous, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Madam Mim!"
"I hate sunlight! I hate it, hate it, hate it!"
I agree with you, Nialla. I don't like the abrupt ending, either.
I do like that wolf trying to eat Arthur, though. You know, when he's going into the forest for the first time. That wolf keeps following him around trying to eat him, but he keeps getting hurt instead! It's so funny! It makes me think of Wile E. Coyote, actually, of Looney Tunes fame.
Does anyone else just crack up whenever they say the word "squire"?

I LOVE this movie! It's one of the ones I usually forget when I rattle off my list of favorites. Merlin is definitely my favorite character. I love how he knows all this stuff about the future, and keeps referring to it, and makes Wart totally confused.
The abrupt ending used to bug me, but I found out that the story's actually the first chunk of a book called The Once and Future King by T.H. White. Which is why it seems like there should be more to it. Gotta read that one of these days...

everytime me and my friend now see a squirrel we say "chekoot", it's so cute! just cos in the sword in the stone the girl squirrel says it when Wart turns back into a boy, then she runs up the tree sobbing. She's so sweet, I feel sorry for her sad heart heart smile
