Everyone. I've sent a PM out to all the crew members and Co-Captains of this guild.
This is a very import issue and one which you all have a say in.
I have been an active member/ crew member / co-captain / and finally the captain of this guild. I have enjoyed every minute of it and have considered this guild to be like a family. However...
I am hereby informing everyone that I am stepping down as Captain of the Eureka Seven Guild. This is not something I'm doing lightly.
I have been working hard to keep this guild moving for awhile now. At some point it went from being an interest.. to a cause.. to finally a full time job.
I don't expect that level of commitment from my replacement. However, I am looking for the crew and co-captains to discuss the future of this guild and decide on a new captain.
I will remain the captain until the new one is chosen or until the end of the month. At that time I will hand the guild over to be run by the group under there there new captain.
While I respect the opinions of our members this is not an issue for members to vote on. It is one for the guild leadership to make a decision on.
I've already spoken with Aphous and he understands why I'm leaving. He has also stated that he is busy with preparing for college and doesn't have the time to run the guild.
Please discuss this and decide on a new captain.
Thank you. Tolly

I'm truly sorry to here that Tolly. You've done an amazing job in holding this guild together while its previous leader has been gone. For that I'm grateful, and I'm sure everyone else feels the same way.
I really wish some of the other captains were here to discuss this as well. So far the place seems pretty empty.
I have been trying to help out, and keep people within the guild more active ((I did say trying)). Although, I never really felt a commitment to it. If it is required of me to become more active as crew, then I will do so.
I'll do what ever is needed to help run this guild. I have a lot of time on my hands. Although I don't suspect it, I'll be the new captain, only if it is truly needed. ((If so Tolly, I'd like a few pointers from you.))
Also, we really need some of the other crew and co-captains here. It'll make this guild a lot easier to maintain.
As you said Tolly, this is the discussion. Let's wait and see what the other leaders have to say.

Well, I'm glad to say that you do have your priorities in line Tolly. We will miss your great contributions to the guild.
Ok, we need to start a list for candidates for the new Capitan. As Tolly explained, I wont be on this list due to school and things.
I think we should have a public vote on the matter. First, select a few candidates in the crew lounge, then add an announcement on the front page with a poll. We should run the poll for about 2 weeks or so. Sound like a good idea?
Edit: Svener, so I take it that you would like to added as a candidate? ^^

Hey, if that's where you need me, I'm fully willing. Or in other words, yeah.
I do like this voting idea though. I'll start making "Vote for Svener" banners now. Naw, that would be a partially good waste of my glorious time. Time I could be wasting in so many other ways.

Yeah, like Vote for Hoverboards banners. By the way. I still need to make more of those. The message said you had to post to stay on the crew. I'm still wondering if the announcement guild should be kept. It's a really powerful tool and cleaning out the chainletters is no easy choir. It's not for the faint of hearts. I need to know what everyone thinks about the Announcement system and what should happen with it. If I hand it over to the new captain they'll have to promise to do better than me with it. The rules are in the signature. Only Eureka and guild related information. I let the mother of all chainletters get out on it. It's still floating about now. Luckily not with EurekaSeven_announcements stuck to it. but still. as helpful as it was it was also pretty dangerous and alot of work. Bleh work. I've got enough of that as it is.

Tolly, I hope you will stay in some form of command of the guild, i think we'd really be lost without you. You've been in command of this place since i joined. You've helped me to get my place noticed by the members, and you've kept this place together. you've helped to spread the eureka seven guilds meaning, and importance to all of us members.
As for a replacement, thos are some big sghoes to fill. I don't know who would fill them. Whom ever is chosen has my full support and cooperation. I hpe to take a more active role in the guilds functions. So if the captain needs anything I;m always here.
As for a capt. I'm not sure, there are a few good picks, My vote will have to be pondered for a while.

Yeah, I'm sure there will be a few good people put up on the chart.
I actually think the announcement system should stay:
1. it's a way to remind people that they are in the guild.
2. It's a good way to reactivate people, and keep them active... basically what I said above.
3. A really quick and easy way to get the word around on something that is going on. We need the message to get to those who don't pay attention to the announcements we post in the main forum.
That's my opinion.

i like the anouncement system. its a great idea. i think the password should be changed and given out to only the capt and vice capt and a crew member whom really needs it. but its a great way to keep everyone in the loop.
i mean if you want it to be more secure and someone to keep it clean and keep it posted weekly or whatever. I'll do it willingly. i use it for my club thru Tolly anyways. I'll take that abnd make it a well planned and set up system of information. then it takes the stress off the captain. theres no reason the captain should have to take on so much, thats what we're for. and i could use a way to help out the guild.

We need some candidated.
i understand Tolly wanted in to be a Crew choice. but some of the members are more active then some of the crew. so i think we should post a sticky with a poll in the main discussion area for all the members to vote on(excluding us crew), and a poll on this thread to for us crew to vote on. and we count the highest poll answer candidate of the member as one crew vote. then we crew vote on our poll and add them all up. it seems fair since there is alot of members that want to make sure this place runs smoothly.
they may not have as much say as the crew, but they should have some control on who takes the lead.
Anyone have any comments on my idea? or candidates to nominate?

I thought we already agreed that the whole guild was going to vote as well?
If not, then I agree to the idea Ross.

I think Tolly's openning post, unless i read it wrong, says its "for the leaders to decided." but maybe if you let the guild all vote and count them as like one crew vote, it help to get their say as well.

Had to put this out.
I'm here to support the guild in any way that I can. Being captain will press a lot of time. As I assume Tolly has mentioned.
All in all, I have a lot of things that I need to do. Prepare for the future in becoming a better writer, artist, and a better person. The time I would need to spend being a captain could be diverted elsewhere.
My skills in leading a guild are premature. I don't even know how to do certain things on the forums. Not only that, I have a tendency to disappear for short periods at a time. The guild doesn't need a leader like that.
What I'm trying to say here is, I'd like to request to be taken of the candidate list.
I'll give time to helping the new leader make decisions, come up with ideas, and solve any problems. I want to keep my job as getting more people to come to the guild and want to stay in the guild. I want to reactivate people who don't even show up anymore. I don't think I'm worthy yet to be the leader.
I congratulate the new leader, when he/she comes.

i think Tolly took on alot. and nomatter who is chosen they'll need alot of help. thats why i'll help by taken on the announcement system to help remove that aspect from the captain so he can focus on other stuff.
and i think if everyone takes on some of the work and had a few co-captains that help to run things with the capt. we should be fine.
