Rafael sat in a towering oak tree, overlooking most of the forest's path. He leaned against the trunk of the tree and sat on the second highest branch of the entire tree. His legs dangled on either side of the thick wood as he watched the empty trail. He hadn't fed for many a day and needing something, anything to eat. A breeze blew through the leaves, hitting his coal black hair, but not moving it. He closed his eyes, tilted his head slightly up, letting himself be emersed in the cool gust. When the breeze finally drifted back to nothing, he looked back down at the trail and saw a woman walking along the trail. He leaned forward, maybe a bit too far to get a better look, then lost his balance and fell through the nearby trees, snapping his bones in two, but quickly healing before they were snapped again and forming bruises all over his body. He made no sound, did not scream or grunt in pain, for he knew it would give away his cover. But even though his slightly less graceful fall was quiet, he landed deadly close to the forest path. He scrambled farther into the woods, trying to not be seen till the right moment.

Rafael paused, watching and listening to her playing. It was amazing. He'd never heard something so beautiful in his life. He soundlessly stood and crept around in the woods to get closer to the stump. Even if her playign was wonderful, he was still thirsty and dieing. He crouched behind the stump in the woods and darkness, watching, waiting for the right moment for when she stopped playing.

Rafael paused and watched her. He felt pity for her, but only watched for the moment. He knew what to do, but hesitated. For it would mean no food tonight. But he was a softy and he stood up. He walked out of the woods and up to her, trying to look like he had just witness the accident instead of him stalking her. He knelt down to her foot and wrapped his cold hand around her ankle. "Brace yourself." he whispered in his dark, but handsome voice. He tightened his grip, popping the ankle back into place. He let go of her ankle and set back on his heels. "Give it a day or two to fully heal. You stay off of it till then." he said, looked over to her unexplainablely beautiful face.

Rafael made sure she was not on her bad foot, then stood up as well and took a few steps back to give her room. "Rafael Andre." he mumbled, not wanting to get too attatched, though that was proving hard.

Rafael mentally cursed her for saying that. Now he has a place to go in case he needed to feed. He looked up at the sky, then back at her ankle. "Does it hurt?" he asked.

Rafael sighed and looked around the forest, trying to hear for any little animal walking by he could quickly eat or something. He saw no other reason to stay. "Well, like I said, stay off of it for a few days." he said, then when she blinked, he dissappeared.

Before Rafael left, he heard her wish and sighed. He wondered about the woods, searching for food, but could find none. He finally lay by a river, little did he know, close to her home. He groaned, regretting that he didn't kill her when he had the chance. He was growing to soft.
