i havent gotten that far yet, but I have the feeling that he calls you on codec (radio w/e) like ocelot does to tell you about metal gear you can usually tell who it is by their outline if it doesnt show their picture.
EDIT: PLease disregard the comment that he calls you because I'm not sure if he does and if you want to unlock him to play as ou could just enter the password 1+2-3 and he comes equiped with an M870

you go to the password screen and when the keypad comes up you type it in kind of like a cell fone. the 1 key has number 1 of course ans the 2 key and so on.

Or, you can press select and it'll change the keypads to just numbers!

As of yet, entering the password is the only known way to get Zero.
He's a decent enough character but his health is poor sweatdrop Also his interrogation is as camp as hell xd

Have a MGS biggrin GN game save on your psp's memory stick. (Second Playthrough only)
This is another way to get Major Zero.. just thought you'd like to know..

I haven't played Portable Ops yet, so I wouldn't know if this would work. but I got this piece of advise from a guy online to unlock Null (Gray Fox).
If you want null anytime, (even at the very start of the game) at the mission briefing screen, look under the recruit tab, go to password, and enter: Hunter-n
you will have null.

you can only get one of the pychic twins. If you get elisa you can't use the code to get ursila and vice versa.
