Help me fix my mums PC so i can get gold from my mule..

erm, hey guys.. my mums PC died yesterday morning.. it was on the login screen and she was cleaning the keyboard and pressed something and it restarted but only gets as far as the post screen page where you press delete to enter the settings thingy... erm, i don't know what the hell she could've pressed to bugger it up aye... it's a big problem for me cos my password for my mule account is save don my mums password saver thingy for added security to the account and i've never had to use the pword except for the first time i enetered it so i've forgotten it and i can't do a password retreival cos you all already know i've lost my email as well... having a really shitty time atm with email and gaia accounts... if anyone manages to fix it you'll get 100K... it's just about to load the windows loading boot screen when it doesn't but instead comes up saying their is a disk check error... please help...

Ok, it sounds like it it could
(a) windows has shat istelf.
(b) your hard drive has shat itself
(b) part a
your hard drive connection is loose, I suggest opening the box up and making sure the power and data cables are attached correctly.

(c) your ram has shat itself (this is a common problem when you shock it with static electricity)
(c) part a
your ram needs to be blown the dust from it, N64 style.

(d) a disk check error?? is there a disk in the A drive you moron?

haha lol, then all i can say is you're ******** have fun buying a new hard drive, alturnately, take out that hard drive and put it in as a slave in your other comp, transfer what you need and change back.

Get a boot disk and try that. Then re-install windows.

tried it in both hers and mine... still nothing.. and to syke, tried that as well and i'm NOT reinstaling windows yet AGAIN!!! won't fix it anyway, the prblem is before windows kicks in...

First rule is to never clean the comp when it's on...

Anyway, what are the steps it takes to boot up, and what is the operating system? (M.E., 2000, XP? 98 possibly?)

Does it get to that screen, then suddenly blank out or something?
