Hey all.
EnvysLoveSlave, a member here at SDS is the new guild captain at Homunculus Mass Prodruction. She recently emailed me, asking if SDS could be affiliated with HMP. I think it's a splendid idea, but since I'm only 1/4 of a captain, I can't make the decision.
So, do you think it's a good idea? We might be able to gain more members and a reputation. I don't know. xD
This question is directed at Contemplative, teh taku, and Edrear, but you can put your input in as well. Having more guild partners might help SDS. I don't know. :/

Hm. I dunno. It depends on what you mean to be "affiliated." If she's implying advertising, then that seems fine with me. I don't care much about members OR a reputation. If it's going to drastically change the friendly attitude in SDS, then I don't think it's a good idea.
But, being an optompist, I'd say go for it. But I'd still like a clearer picture of this 'affiliation'.

I... agree with Sayuri. I'm not clear in what 'affiliation' is supposed to mean in this scenario, and without that knowledge, I can't make a firm decision.
On the other hand, if we were to agree on the basis that we would gain members, then I say no. I believe that this is a nice little community the way it is, and getting a s**t load of new members isn't exactly what I'd picture as 'good'. I also wouldn't want us to appear 'desperate'. .__.''
And on the note of a 'Reputation', in what regard do you mean? To whom would we be gaining a reputation, and... well, to put it simply, I have no idea what you're talking about in that regard.

Well... I make no sense... >.< So here's the actual letter. I don't know what I'm talking about, do I? ;-; EnvysLoveSlave Dear Tsuki-chan, I recently became the owner of Homunculus Mass Production, and I was wondering if it would be okay to become affiliates of each other. I've got to fix it up though, and make some changes.

Well... does that mean none of us are clear on what 'affiliation' is supposed to mean in this context, or under what terms we will be affiliated...?
s**t.
My suggestion would be you PM EnvysLoveSlave back and ask her what she was talking about...

You make sense, it's 'affiliation' that doesn't make sense!
BUT YES.
Pm EnvysLoveSlave, and ask. It might clear things up.

It doesn't matter what I say, but I think it's a good idea. An affiliation is just like a parter in this context, you'll probably both just put a little banner for each other in your guild that says 'this is our guild partner'.

Yes, I know what affiliation usually means.
But, we want to make sure, before anything happens.
And your opinion does matter...

I think we should all check out this other guild and see how we all feel about it. It it turns out its very much like SDS, then there really shouldnt be much of a problem. Its it total anti SDS, then that might not be a good idea.
Say they are better at staying on topic... If we affiliate with them, and a member joins who doesnt like the off topicness, we can suggest they check out over there, and vise versa.
If it seems like a guild that all of us would join, then I dont think it should cause any problems.

What I mean by affiliation, is advertising each others guild with a banner or like an image next to the link. I don't think there will be a lot of new members, since quite a few did originate from here. At least I think they did. neutral
The only thing that might happen is if by summer the HMP guild isn't active again, I may just sell it (perferably to another fellow homunculus). But summer is a long way, so activity will hopefully pick up. Thats why I bought it. To keep it alive and prevent from becoming something else.
But that's all I really wanted to do with the guild affiliation. There wouldn't be a problem with nasty members coming here and starting trouble. Its a private guild after all, and I wouldn't tolerate bad behavior from anyone. I hope things are a little clearer now. 3nodding Please PM me with the decision.

If it's only for that reason, then I think I'd be perfectly fine. But that's just my opinion...

Oh, I'm in the guild. I've been in that guild for... longer than I can remember. xDD'' (I can't remember a lot of things).
It's a fantastic guild, but a bit more on topic. I just haven't posted there in a long time. @.@''
I was only unclear of the terms of this... 'affiliation'...
