There is a distinct differense between a newb and a noob.
A newb is a person that is generally new to the game/forum/application.
Some of the general trates of a newb is:
- Asking the location of functions of certain places or key items
- Utter not knowing-ness of the game/forum/application
- Small favors, such as, a point in the right direction or a small donation [if they ask for a small donation then there not considered a noob]
A noob is a person that is ignorant
Some of the general trates of a noob is:
- Asking for large donations
- Using words such as "Pwnzor"
- The over extended use of punctuation, including using ones instead of explamation points
- The over use of any of the emotocons
- The use of Leet-speak, Chat-speak, or TyPiNg LiKe ThIs
- Unrealistic dream avi's ( It isn't considerd unrealstic If The person is an oldby)
- Incredible Ignorance of basic rules
- Incredible Ignorance of what people dont like
And in case your wondering, an oldby is a vetran user of the game/forum/application
Some trates
- Haveing an account for over 2 years [whether they be multiple accounts or not]
- General look of kick-a**-itude
- Incredible knowledge of game/forum/application
In my case, Im technically an oldby [ My first account was in 2004, by the name of l4rgo666, you can look if you want, but its just a red head in boxers] But my friend Din~ Goddess of Power told me I'd be a true oldby after I get my quest Item xp
