You proably know the other band, SlipKnoT much better. Well Stone Sour was formed back in 1992 with Shawn Economaki, James/Jim Root and Corey Taylor. The released 2 demo tapes (one in '92 and the other in '94) but with no success. Then in 1996 Corey was asked by Ander that he was starting this new group called "SlipKnoT" and that he wanted Corey to be a part of it. So later that year Corey joined but brought along Root as his guitarist. The jamband known as SlipKnoT was born. In 1997 they released their first album tittled Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. but with no luck or airplay. The album was a self release and only 1,000 actual copies where made. 500 of those copies recalled and about 250 destroyed by outraged community. So only 250 original copies exist. Later in 1998 they were signed by Roadrunner and they reworked their first album into their debut break out, SlipKnoT. Finally the mainstream band known as SlipKnoT was finalized with only 9 permenant members. Then in 2001 they released their 3rd album (2nd mainstream album) IOWA (aptly named after their state Des Moines, Iowa). Finally in 2001 Corey got a call from Josh Rand who said that he was working on some songs and wanted Stone Sour to reform. Both Taylor and Root sat down with Rand and talked about it. In 2002 for the Spiderman Sountrack Stone Sour recorded their first mainstream song, BOTHER mainly featuring Corey Taylor on vocals and Josh Rand and Jim Root on guitars. Later that year the band did fully reform with the following members:
Corey Taylor - Vocals James/Jim Root - Guitars Josh Rand - Guitars Shawn Economaki - Bass Joel Ekman - Drums
They released their self titled album later that year and it went to win a Grammy for Best Rock Album of the Year. Following that Taylor and Root returned to SlipKnoT and began to record Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) which was released in 2003. After the release they headlined the Subliminal Verses Tour 2004 with Lamb of God and Shadow's Fall. It was during that tour that they ended up recording their first complete live record titled 9.0: Live which was released in 2005. After the tour died down rumors of Corey leaving SlipKnoT and reforming Stone Sour began which happened to be true. Buit only Joel Ekman left the band and the replaced him with Ray Mayorga from Soulfly (also back up drummer for Sepultura). The band sat down and recorded their Sophomore album, Come What(ever) May which was released on August 1, 2006. They for a brief time accompanied KoRn on the Family Values Tour 2006 then dropped out to tour with Evanescence (opening for Ev).
Current Line up:
Corey Taylor - Vocals James/Jim Root - Guitars Josh Rand - Guitars Shawn Economaki - Bass Ray Mayorga - Drums

Die Inphyy they're the ones of through the glass ..or someting like that...right? Yup, and that's arguably one of their best songs I must add.

Just a small correction, the song's tittled Through Glass.
So far it's Corey's most personal song to date. But Zzyxz Rd. (last track on Come What(ever) May) comes close.

Bother and Come What(ever) May are also good songs. However, I really like Omega, the last track on their self titled album. It really makes you think when you listen to it.
