Fan fiction is a broadly defined term for fiction about characters or settings written by fans of the original work, rather than by the original creators.

And I'll use another Wiki definition...
Fan art or fanart is artwork that is based on a character, costume, item, or story that was created by someone other than the artist.

Any fanfiction and fanart can also be Gaia-related. So if you feel like writing a story about your avi, or about Fleep, or Lanzer, or whoever you feel like choosing, here's the place to put it. Same thing with fanart. Oh, I love it when people draw my avi... ^^
